This is a topic I want to discuss with everyone. See I recently while browsing the web out of boredom or rather I was searching for something I didn't know what came across something called Angel summoning. There are people who actually practice this and many who are asking how to do it, I was surprised to see the responses given to the ppl asking how. They spoke as if they had full knowledge about angels and how it all works saying how to summon them and how angels are not as kind and forgiving as God and how they do not being summoned as they are being dragged against their will here and binded they spoke of what an angel looks like and how to test if its an angel or demon and this one here made me slap my forehead.

Apparently you shake hands if its an angel it will shake your hand if its a demon you summoned it will not, I thought to myself are you serious? The name Jesus makes demons cringe and infuriates them and you want to test it by the shaking of hands? Another thing is ppl apparently summon them for divine healing which also was ridiculous to me because if I am correct it's God that does the healing not angels. The worst part is this is actually a very common thing it is even used by ppl who are not saved and want to have a little fun or by ppl who are more spiritual rather than focused on God. I had great concern and fear for these ppl because this is not something you mess with.

The spiritual realm like this one has rules and has a way of working but the only ppl I have ever heard of being able to work in this realm of summoning were ppl who were not of God but for the devil. Humans are curious about the supernatural and I believe the devil not just knows this but wants to feed our curiosity by revealing to ppl how to do it via summoning spells witchcraft ect. I am not saying I am not curious about angels and the rumor that we each have guardian angels and I do wonder if Ghosts are real or if aliens are actually possible but these things I have to do a very deep study on before I make a decision and I will need God to guide me as well.

But summoning angels? messing with the spiritual realm? that is very dangerous no matter how you look at it or what your intentions and motives are, we cannot comprehend the things of the spiritual realm and I highly doubt we can control what we summon. Any thoughts?

Summoning angles is NOT in God's will for us. We are to ask HIM to send his angels, just as Daniel did in Chapter 10 (I think it's 10). Angels obey God, not man. Summoning them would be under the sin of presumption.
Presuming is the act of believing something that may or may not be true according to God's plan...i.e. acting without God's permission.

Hi Blain, For what purpose would a person want to summon an angel?

I agree with Maggie. God alone has the power to summon angels to help us. We are NOT endowed with that power, nor should we stupidly practice it, as your OP says some do.

We as Christians do not even need to summon the angels. In the Psalms we read that God sends them out to minister to those who belong to Him. That they are continually ministering in various and secret ways to us, yet not usually pointing themselves out as of any importance.

They do not want to be worshiped or focused on. All their ministering is to bring us into a greater awareness of Christ's presence and love for us.

Hi Blain, For what purpose would a person want to summon an angel?
Well there are many reasons but none of them are from God

I also agree with Maggie, Angels are not things you can just summon and honestly if you tried I can guarantee it won't be an angel that appears.

This is true as the scripture says because the one and only time I ever met an angel it was because he had a message for me

yeah my mother-in-law is into some shade of this.
she thinks she can "send her angels" out to bless people. likely to curse too, but she doesn't talk about that aspect.
it's sorcery; it's deception; it's vain.
it's a tower that will fall.

But these people blaspheme in matters they do not understand.
(2 Peter 2:12)

See I am very concerned and afraid for ppl who do this because they have no idea what they are getting into and the dangers of it even Christians do this, If i have one prayer about this is that God would send angels to protect these ppl from what they are doing and to minister to them to seek God instead.

Amen to that. Don't mess with angels.

There are no instances in Scripture where humans were able to give angels commands, either in their own name or in Jesus’ name. There are no passages where man has control over the work of the angels. We do know that they are beings of higher rank, since Jesus had to make Himself “lower than the angels” in order to be born and suffer as a man (Hebrews 2:7-9; Psalm 8:4-5).

Angels are called God’s “holy angels,” who do His bidding, not ours (Matthew 25:31; Revelation 14:10).

Just remember and keep in mind, that Satan masquerades as an angel (of light)..

And no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light.

If I need help I call on God. How He takes care of it is His choice, not ours.

This is one of the most screwed up things I have ever heard. Angles are our helpers, Heb.1:14, but they respond to God's word only, psalm 103:20. I have imagined angles working on our behalf when we speak God's word over any situation ,but it would never have crossed my mind to summon an angle to do my bidding. That sounds like nothing less than demonism to me. These people are trying to control demons. After all ,what are demons if not fallen angles?

Hebrews 1:13-14King James Version (KJV)[SUP]13 [/SUP]But to which of the angels said he at any time, Sit on my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool?
[SUP]14 [/SUP]Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?

That's what I took from these verses. They are to minister for us who are heirs of salvation.

1 Kings 19:5-9King James Version (KJV)
[SUP]5 [/SUP]And as he lay and slept under a juniper tree, behold, then an angel touched him, and said unto him, Arise and eat.
[SUP]6 [/SUP]And he looked, and, behold, there was a cake baken on the coals, and a cruse of water at his head. And he did eat and drink, and laid him down again.
[SUP]7 [/SUP]And the angel of the Lord came again the second time, and touched him, and said, Arise and eat; because the journey is too great for thee.
[SUP]8 [/SUP]And he arose, and did eat and drink, and went in the strength of that meat forty days and forty nights unto Horeb the mount of God.
[SUP]9 [/SUP]And he came thither unto a cave, and lodged there; and, behold, the word of the Lord came to him, and he said unto him, What doest thou here, Elijah?

An angel brought him food. To me that is helping which is why I said they are helpers.

You ought to read Beware of Angles. It explains alot on how fallen angles take on the role of distortioning the scriptures by feigning to be Holy. They have powers too and don't cringe when they hear about Jesus (maybe is it b/c it's not His name?) even the very elite could be deceived when they appear as angles of light.

(post's wife will now reply to your post, Blain :) )

It is very concerning and She tried to convince me that it was right, and well lets just say that, God has Shown me many passages that I too have tried to show her, but she does go to church and takes sacraments every Sunday, and tries to tell me I am wrong. You see the thing here is that there is so much new age stuff that is out to try to convince people that you have to conform to society and they try to use bits and pieces , but not the whole books to there way of thinking, but in all reality, when someone says they don't have the time to read "The bible" to gain knowledge and understand of our Fathers ways and why he had to send his Son down to earth to be sacrificed for us. They tend to go whatever way the wind blows. People want action now, and have no patience and when they do this stuff, they Glorify themselves, saying I did that. Yet there is a Downfall to the pit that they are digging and it has become very apparent to me, That Common sense is a Gift from God, because what once was easy to understand through common sense is now long left her and of course the blind eyes and the ears that don't listen. I pray everyday that God will step in and rescue her, but that is going to take something Big because the only thing she really Glorifies and gives praise to for all the blessings in her life is the Angels above Not God !!! Why can't people just take the time to read and understand our Fathers ways from old to new?? You don't have time, but you will make time to read all these books that are based on false beliefs and statements....GRRRRR.
