So Willie-T if i understand you correctly, you are teaching Salvation by Works?

You do know Willie-T that Salvation is ONLY by Grace and Faith?

Ephesians 2:8-9
[SUP]8 [/SUP] For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God,
[SUP]9 [/SUP] not of works, lest anyone should boast.

We do NOT prove anything by trying to convince Jesus Christ that we are sorry for our sins. You do know Willie-T that God knows your thoughts? So why would we HAVE to convince Him of anything?

You really need to read the Scripture and get a better understanding of who God is!

God forgives us for our sins BECAUSE God Loves us! Not because we have CONVINCED Him we are sorry!

Do you even walk with God Willie-T?

Why are you trying to deceive those who walk with God Willie-T?

Repent and accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior Willie-T.
I am thinking your reading sarcasm and don't know it.

I think you may be reading Willie wrong on this one Brother.

And this just frustrates the SNOT out of me................Willie unsaved? Really? This is one area, as believers we had better walk softly!

While mocking, you still presented the true gospel. Ironic.

How many of our sins were still in the future when Christ died on the cross?

All of them.

The Law must be breaking your back by now.
I love Gods sense of humor! He will get His Gospel out, even from false teachers.

New American Standard Bible
What then? Only that in every way, whether in pretense or in truth, Christ is proclaimed; and in this I rejoice. Yes, and I will rejoice,

And God willing, the true gospel will pierce his Pharisaical heart.

It is not ok. That is your conscience convicting you and you ought to take it very seriously.

Others on here are telling you to "not worry about it, you are already forgiven." The Bible does not teach that.

The Bible teaches...

Pro 28:13 He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy.

Not only do we have to confess our wrong doing, we also have to forsake it permanently. If we are stealing then we have to go and steal no more, if we are engaged in sexual sin then we have to engage in sexual sin no more, if we are engaged in gossip then we have to go and gossip no more. This is what God demands.

How is this achieved? Simple. Through broken godly sorrow, wrought by the conviction of the Holy Spirit, which leads to a real change of mind (and change of action) unto life. Paul described it like this...

2Co 7:10 For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death.
2Co 7:11 For behold this selfsame thing, that ye sorrowed after a godly sort, what carefulness it wrought in you, yea, what clearing of yourselves, yea, what indignation, yea, what fear, yea, what vehement desire, yea, what zeal, yea, what revenge! In all things ye have approved yourselves to be clear in this matter.

Godly sorrow works repentance unto salvation not to be repented of. In other words we are supposed to repent one time. The Prodigal Son repented one time and forsook his wayward course and sought out his father with a true heart, confessing his wrong doing, confessing his unworthiness, pleading for mercy. His father forgave him freely for he repented.

Godly sorrow works a real repentance. The sorrow of the world works death.

If your heart is not wholeheartedly submitted to God then don't deceive yourself into thinking you have repented. Repentance is not something we do over and over again whereby we continue to rebel against God in the knowing engagement of evil.

Read the scriptures and reflect on what you read. Examine your heart, be broken, mourn, then yield to God as you realise it is the only way. Approach the mercy seat with a true heart in repentance and faith and God will cleanse you.

Don't be deceived by those who would tickle your ears with lies about your sins being forgiven in advance. Don't be deceived by those who would tickle your ears with notions that "Jesus paid your sin debt in full" thus cancelling it out. Jesus taught no such thing nor did anyone who truly followed him.

OH GACKK!! This is all about YOU and SIN. All about how SIN does this and YOU do that and SIN brings DEATH and YOU are GUILTY and that Jesus DIDN'T teach about forgiveness.,how YOU should look at YOU and YOUR heart and YOUR sorrow and YOUR repentance and YOUR rebellion and YOUR unworthiness and YOUR pleading and YOUR works and YOUR forsaking and YOUR brokeness and YOUR KNOWING ENGAGEMENT OF EVILLLLLLLLLLLLL....

Notice.... This does not magnify Jesus and what He did on the Cross. that post of skinsky's magnifies sin and guilt and US.
Why did Jesus come? To just kind of give us a kick start to salvation??? NO He gave us full Salvation and free Salvation.
Look to Jesus not your self. If you have received Christ, walk in Him now. Don't listen to people who want to pull you back under the Law that Jesus died to free you from. Law came by Moses., but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.

I like the "kick start" salvation. I was thinking along the same lines as I read his post.

Instead of the author and finisher, he has Jesus as his kick starter.

I agree completely. His is the white knuckle religion. a life of failure after failure......misery. And misery loves company.

Its our choice if we want to live in misery or the freedom we have in Christ.
Please clarify, is this directed at me? Because after reading willies post 346, combined with this, I really feel like crap. No one knows the things ive been thru, especially here, and I NEVER would think I could claim a right to earn my own salvation. What Jesus went thru to pay for my sins is a love and devotion I can never understand, it hurts in a way I cant describe, and to accuse me of trying to earn His love feels like the same form of bullying ive gotten most of my life. I dont know what you mean by screaming at God, I know of one time I consciously did that and im sure you werent there, and I hurt every time I think I could be so brazen toward my creator, but I was really hurting, and was drunken mad that my only known friend at the time, my best buddy, died. I wont question your motive, I know some try the 'older-brother-well-meaning-bully' tactic, to try to help (im from philly, and the youngest sibling, BELIEVE me, I know that tactic), but im not sure why yous are doing this. Jesus was the oldest of at least 7, but when one of them was hurting, im guessing He came alongside them, not push them out. But what do I know, I seem to be getting everything else wrong anyway. I'll try to learn from what's been said, but ive admitted my lack, so expectations aren't soaring high right now. God bless yous, and Hallelujah anyhow.

It is not pride to contend for obedience to the truth through the Spirit by which we are made pure before God. It is not pride to testify an abiding walk in the Spirit of life in Jesus Christ whereby we overcome the world.

You call it pride because you dislike such a thing because it is such a contrast to the notion that one is forgiven whilst they continue to work iniquity.

Jesus succinctly warned that it is workers of iniquity whom profess His name whom will be rejected. Jesus taught that it is the doers of the will of God who will enter the kingdom. The will of God is for us to do righteousness through the Spirit of life in Jesus Christ, whereby we walk by a faith that works by love, love that fulfills the righteousness of the law, an inward righteousness by which we are inwardly clean, an inward righteousness that flows outward and is reflected in our conduct.

Yet people like you hold such simple truth in contempt.
No man can be both dead and alive.

Have you found anyone who claims to hold a license to sin yet?

No that post was not directed towards you.

His Grace is sufficient and we are what we are by the grace of God. this is freeing Brother. We take it by faith.

There are some grace believers here that were trying to silence the religion that popped in that wants you to wallow in your sin.

You pick yourself up, and get the "Holy Ghost goose bumps" that God has you covered in His Grace, mercy(Grace in action) and love.

I think Willie is being the older Brother and telling you to "gird up your loins".......its true. We all need to get a good swift kick every once and a while.

I used the "nicer" approach. We all need this at times also.

I don't need no license! I was sinning long before I knew you could get a license!

I challenge anyone to show me one scripture that says the Holy Spirit convicts the believer of sin. Just one.

Hint: John 16:8 doesn't work.

You won't get one. The Believer is convicted/convinced by his own conscience.

This was not directed at you Sydlid, like Gr8grace was saying just trying to encourage you away from feeling condemned. So many of us have been where you are and have a bunch of love for you. It takes time to learn about grace. I didn't know about it until I was 55 and I was saved in the 80s. So I'm passionate about the subject of Jesus and His grace and really can't stand it when someone (skinsky) was suggesting you to go with your feelings of condemnation.. Didn't want to see you get put under the bus of law and condemnation. It was done to me for many years. Sorry for the misunderstanding. Sometimes these posts can be a blessing and a total misunderstanding. Love to you Sydlit!!!!

PeacefulWarrior answered you. :) It actually goes on to explain why the Holy Spirit convicts the world of sin and Jesus says, "because they believe not on Me." Do you believe in Jesus? Then this verse doesn't apply to you as a believer.

No, thats why I am asking for someone to give me just one verse to show that He does. I am open to someone showing me that He does, but am fairly confident that such a verse doesn't exist. The go to is John 16:8 but as has been shown, that is to the unbelieving world who do not believe in Jesus Christ.

PS: Your conscience and the accuser of the brethren are the sources of such conviction, though the latter more towards condemnation.
