You missed it entirely.
I did not miss anything for if you are going to say no amount of sinning is going to not effect one receiving salvation through the Lord then you have been taught a bad doctrine.
Also as for the continuing to sinning everyday thing goes that is a bad lie taught in churches now days, as that completely contradicts scripture and the born again nature we are called to walk in.
For if you are always walking in the fruits of the Holy Spirit there is no way possible you could sin as they lead one in the Lord's righteousness and not sinful behavior. However we do stumble and fall back to committing sin, but if one claims it is and will always be an everyday all the time thing then there is absolutely no victory over sin the bible speaks of in that form of doctrine.
Apostle John says "if" not "when" we sin again, showing abstaining from sin is possible at times, and only by giving into your lustful thoughts are you drawn back to sinning. Apostle James says from here if you let it control your life again it will lead to eternal death.

You are working with a defective and convenient definition of sin. We ALL fall short of the glory of God, do you know why? Because God's glory is HIS holy character....and He alone can express His own character. Which is why we ALL need to be justified as a gift, by HIS Grace, through the redemption which is in Christ Jesus. Rom. 3:24
Sanctification is not the basis of justification but the inevitable result of justification. Those whom God declares righteous, God also makes righteous by the work of His Spirit within them.
Kenneth may not accept because he doesn't understand or maybe he understands but he doesn't accept it but don't take his stance personal because there are listeners that are being helped.
Yes he is talking to believers but the op is correct so I would say a person that teaches that the op is in error would be teaching error.Read Acts 20:28-31............
Does Apostle Paul there say unbelievers are getting deceived by false teaching, or is he saying disciples (believers) are getting deceived ???

That is your opinion but the bible clearly shows in 1 John the walking in the light and confession of sins is to receive forgiveness by our Lord who is our advocate. Also once again Peter (2 Peter 1:9) and Paul (Romans 3:25) both say only past sins have been forgiven, not future.
None of Apostle John's epistle is talking to people before conversion, as his whole epistle is about believers walk in the faith and how we are to properly walk by the Spirit as Paul also speaks on.
Apostle Paul also tells Apostle Timothy twice that he can become impure again do to partaking in sins again. This could not be possible if future sins are automatically forgiven, and would make Paul a liar which he is not !!!

We are told over and over again in the NT that we are to abstain from sinning multiple times, and Apostle Paul even says those who are born again and walking by the Spirit have put to death their members in the flesh leading them to sin. Meaning you put those sinful ways aside to not do them any more.
You can not continue to walk in sinful nature as you did before you were born again or that shows no sign that the Holy Spirit does abide in you. Even Apostle John says if you say you love God but hate your brother the truth is not in you, and eternal life does not abide in you.
Paul, Peter, James, and John all taught that the walk(actions) in the faith can not be separated from the faith itself, or it is considered a dead faith if the person does not walk as taught and commanded.
When a believer sins they will repent and confess that sin and return to walking by the Spirit (in the Light), but if that person does not repent or confess but lets that sin lead them again controlling their life Apostle James says their soul will not be saved unless they return to the Lord.

I do believe I have forgiveness in Christ, so I do not know where you come by that false conclusion from.
The difference I understand and trust in all of Gods word, and when Peter and Paul both said only past sins were forgiven and John tells us how future sins are forgiven I trust in what they say.
I also trust in how from Jesus through the epistles to Jude they all show the importance of how one walks/acts in the faith.
Unless you realize that a true saving faith in the Lord is an active faith then you will never understand how true faith is, and by taking and doing away with the walk you end up voiding a number of scriptures from the Lord Jesus who says true believers are those that does what He said.

Also I never said nor implied that Jesus did not die for future sins, but just like the sins you have committed before you came to the faith you have to receive that remission from the Lord. We do that by repenting, getting baptized, and then confessing the future sins we commit.
Acts 3:19
Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord;
Conversion is done by baptism..........."may" means conditional..........times of refreshing is forgiveness of future sins when confessed !!!

That's what happens when I don't read the verses in context but I corrected it in post#889.
Well if they are not walking in the fruits of the Spirit they have every right to still feel the danger of condemnation, because as like Apostle Paul said those who walk by the flesh are still enmity to God.
Even Apostle Peter says a couple verses later that if you "do" these things then an entrance into the everlasting kingdom will be supplied to you, meaning will receive eternal life.

No it is not double minded which shows you do not understand the process in which one receives the remission of sins through the Lord.
It is not given for all sins a person can ever commit in their life at minute one of faith.................
Lord Jesus says (Luke 13:3) unless you repent you will perish, meaning repentance of sins still has to be made to receive that remission through the Lord.
Lord Jesus says (John 3:5) unless you are born again of water and Spirit you can not enter the kingdom of heaven.
The water here is not natural birth as been falsely taught, for even Nicodemus thought it was natural birth and the Lord set him right by telling him he is a teacher of Israel and does not know these things.
Water and blood both have always been used in sanctification !!!
Acts 2:38, 3:19, 19:3-6 all show repentance and baptism is to be done before remission is given.
This remission is only given for those sins up to that point, and future sins still have to receive that remission and this is done by confessing them and continuing to walk in the light. (1 John 1:7-9)
You may want to believe all sins are forgiven at minute one of faith, but there is absolutely no scripture that actually say that. It says His sacrifice was for all sins, but does not say that all sins receive them immediately.

I think you're talking about living holy after salvation.
This here again is the misconception, who told you that salvation comes at the beginning of our faith ???
The Word of God does not say that as both Apostles Paul and Peter say it is the ending result of our faith, as Paul says it is the promise we receive after continuing in the faith.
Living holy is a product of a true saving faith in the Lord that leads unto salvation !!!
Salvation and faith are not one and the same, as the faith if it is a true faith and not a false profession leads to eternal life.

If anybody wants to separate the walk in the faith as not a required part for salvation through the Lord then just remember this then:
Anybody who claims Jesus to be their Lord and Savior has eternal life !!!
But this is not what Jesus said as He said not all that call Him Lord will receive eternal life, as some will be told He never knew them because they continued in a life of iniquity/lawlessness.
Iniquity = lawlessness = sinful nature
