The OT precedes New Covenant history... It is the very foundation of Christianity and the HISTORICAL/PROPHETIC proof for Christ to come. CHRIST is founded in the OT... it is not merely OLD and NEW.

As the schhoolmaster, once one has been led to christ, the schoomasters job is complete. why keep going to the schoolmaster? would it not be better to take what you learned and move one then keep hashing out the same stuff over and over which as the word of God says, will NEVER MAKE YOU RIGHTEOUS?

Another law thread. How many of these do we need before said person gets the point, the law is a schoolmaster. That once the schoolmaster has done it job, and the student has graduated, the schoolmaster is no longer needed.

He is not done away (other people need him until they come to Christ) but his work is completed in those who have already come to Christ.

This was not intended to be another law thread. The OP doesn't mention the law, all I was presenting is that all of what God has ever spoken still applies for us today. All of it. The O.T. law situation first came into view with post #9.

you should not just randomly connect verses. as your picture says, it is not a bag of trail mix. maybe you should work on keeping your own rules instead of false teaching that Christ followers must keep the O.T. law.

What started it was gb9 who doesn't desire to adhere to all of what God has spoken. There is a certain hatred toward certain words that God has delivered to His own. There are many that would rather see God's word destroyed rather than their own sins. What a travesty!

Does the following commandment mean anything these days, (
Exodus 20:7) or is it now classified along with the 4th commandant? What is it about professing Christians these days that demand this or that in God's word to be destroyed? It doesn't take a rocket scientist to know who's behind these refutations. Might one rationally think that Satan doesn't want to be exposed like when Jesus quoted Deuteronomy to him 3 times? (Matthew 4)

It's time to awake to righteousness and accept all of God's word, not just a portion. The problem is not even attempting to see the spiritual aspects of it all. Just because we say we have the indwelling Spirit doesn't mean we have it. If we refuse to comprehend the spiritual intent because of consistent purposeful rejection of certain things God has spoken, we are truly in a world of hurt.

For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. Romans 8:6-7

If we are living in Christ we will desire all of God's spoken words. None of what God has said is a thing of the past because we are supposedly saved from the condemnation of the law. What has really been destroyed through Christ? God's word, or our sins? To all who read this, "Get a life" if you see you don't have one. (Pun intended)

To all who read this thread. Take a good look at the posts that demand certain things God has spoken to be rejected. Then think about the purpose for rejection. There is a much bigger picture behind this vain rejection. Is this on purpose or is it ignorance due to purposeful ignoring certain things in scripture? 2 Timothy 3:16

For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Ephesians 6:12

Let's just stop the "law" rhetoric for a time, and be truthful for once. Are we as professing Christians actually trying to teach that some of what God has spoken doesn't apply to our lives when Jesus said all of it does? Come right out and say it with guts behind it. "I do not believe in all of God's word." Just say it outright and stop "mealy mouthin'" around and get to the real core of a very serious problem within the church.

[SUP]"[/SUP]I know thy works, and where thou dwellest, even where Satan's seat is: and thou holdest fast my name, and hast not denied my faith, even in those days wherein Antipas was my faithful martyr, who was slain among you, where Satan dwelleth. But I have a few things against thee, because thou hast there them that hold the doctrine of Balaam, who taught Balac to cast a stumblingblock (see this post) before the children of Israel, to eat things sacrificed unto idols, and to commit fornication. So hast thou also them that hold the doctrine of the Nicolaitanes, which thing I hate." Revelation 2:13-15

How much sense does this teaching make?
"Before I was saved, all of God's word applied to my life, but now that I'm saved, only a portion of God's words apply to my life." Is not that backwards to the max?

Good question. Why do you reject the New things spoken by God??

It's not backwards, it's imaginary.

Really? Then why do people use this scripture to promote not needing certain parts of the word of God after salvation, as if the gift of faith is an adversary to certain parts of God's word who gave the gift? Is that not contradictory?

Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith. But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster. Galatians 3:24-25

Are you saying that we do still need the Law as a schoolmaster after it has led us to Christ??

So, when are you going to prove to us that we deny that the law is valid today as it was in the OT?

How can we stop the law rhetoric as you call it. Almost ever thread you make concerns the law?

Again, Where has ANYONE said the law does not apply today?

Back to that. See. we who know you know what your eventually going to get to.

News flash. to a believer who is doing what God wants us to do (following the spirit) he would never do those things, He does not need the law to tell him to not commit adultry (he already knows the law. and it did not help him before) He needs to learn the law of love a better law.

As Jesus said all the law is fulfilled in two commands, Love God and love everyone.

what I want to know is why people like Just-me think this means we have to go back to the law. And just not follow these two commands, which would fulfill ALL commands. WHy does he think Jesus said this. only to send us back to the law? is jesus an author of confusion?

How can person believe in what Jesus taught spiritually if they refuse to believe that God's words to Israel apply to themselves after their supposed salvation? "For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace." Romans 8:6

Does not the "law of sin and death" begin with the canal mind? Did Jesus kill the flesh that contains sin, or did He kill some of His own Father's words so we couldn't see our own sins?

John 5:47

my intention was to attempt to correct your wrong belief. you try to disguise your false belief that Christ followers are under the O.T. law by saying things like all the Bible is true, which it is. but it also has to rightly divided or properly handled, depending on translation. so tell me, do you wear blended fabrics?? have you ever had a Jewish priest inspect your house for mold . ever have a priest inspect a bump or a sore. because if not, then you are not following the law. see how this works?? as e.g. said, tell us something instead of saying something.

Where did I say "that Christ followers are under the O.T. law?" Why don't you just come right out and say that your belief system is that not all of what God has ever spoken applies to you? Just come right out and say it. Draw your line in the sand and let everyone know that you cannot accept all of God's word. Is it because you are unable to see the spiritual truth in certain things, and because of that you have no alternative but to reject some of it? Referring to Leviticus chapter 14 as you referenced; is it not a perfect correlation of being conformed into the image of Christ? Romans 8:29

Deuteronomy 8:3

I'm saying that we continue to live by every word God has ever spoken just as Jesus said, quoting the OT writings.

Matthew 4:4

Read the scripture please. Being redundant doesn't contribute to your cause.

You are the one who brought it up, why are you now running from it??
Who's running? See the previous post #57. As I said "Read the scripture please. Being redundant doesn't contribute to your cause."

Deuteronomy 8:3

I'm saying that we continue to live by every word God has ever spoken just as Jesus said, quoting the OT writings.

Matthew 4:4
Come right out and say that you cannot believe in all that God has ever spoken.

Then answer the question. Are you saying that we do still need the Law as a schoolmaster after it has led us to Christ??
