I'm laughing so hard right now!!!

Yeah... you got us... that's our peanut butter thing... :)

Farinha is the most awesome thing ever and it goes with pretty much any kind of food!! And you can get it and prepare it into farofa, which is even better!!! :)

You don't have to like it or eat it... we won't hold it against you!!! ;)

It's probably a brazilian thing! ;)
Ah, you replied too quickly. I only got halfway through one caipirinha.

(Also, Olerica, there's more than one way to turn cachacha into a caipirinha. My S.I.L.'s preference is the strawberry caipirinha instead of lime. I also saw mango versions over there quite a bit.)

Not on toast! It's eaten as an accompaniment to a main course. And the peanut butter, garlic and soy sauce creates a sauce for the tofu. Because everyone knows tofu by itself is a big no-no. By the way, I much prefer meat to tofu. But if I have to have tofu, I'll have it served that way.
I only have tofu on misso... it tastes fine... tofu by itself tastes like rubber..

And one of my cats is jealous of my cellphone... she keeps sitting on it while I'm typing... o_O

Ok... it's farinha and not farina, and it's cachaça and not cachacha...

I don't really like caipirinha... I'm more into caipiroska... which is pretty much the same drink, only instead of cachaça we use vodka! ;)

so at a music event I was given some peach jam made from genuine stolen peaches.

My friend, who was hosting the event has a next door neighbor who hates her. The lady used to be her real estate agent, but they decided to go with someone else...and ended up moving next door to her - I know. You can't make that up.

Anyway, the neighbor has been horrible. Calling the police on her claiming she is operating a business without a license (not true) and stuff like that. Meanwhile, my friend has noticed that the neighbor's peach tree drops peaches every year and they just go to waste, or the birds eat them.

So last year she decided to remove a couple of slats from the fence, and having her husband be the lookout, snuck into her neighbor's back yard and stole a bunch of peaches. While she was doing it, she thought "This is how Eve must have felt!"

Now, if the neighbor had been nice, my friend would have knocked on the door and said "I notice that your peaches go to waste every year. May I pick some? I will give you half of my batch of jam." But she did not do this, given their history.

I guess I am writing this to share that I have come to realize that I will never, ever have normal friends...and I kind of like it that way...

I am also wondering, which is the greater sin - trespassing and stealing something that is not valued and would only go to waste, or letting the peaches rot?

Either way, I shall enjoy my jam of purloined peaches spread over toast tomorrow morning.

The tofu is sauteed. You have misso in Brazil? As in misso soup? Wow. :)

waijt2$#Q!@# I have that song by The Outfield stuck in my head.

Josie's on a vacation far away...

The singer reminds me of Jerry Seinfeld; they both raises their voices to this pitch that's almost a yell but not quite.

G'mornin' y'all. I slept like a log... truck.

Actually I have been told I don't snore. I'm not awake to observe it so I'll have to trust my friends on this one. So I only slept like a log, not like a noisy log truck. But it was more amusing to say it the other way.

And yeah... tofu can bem sauteed... I was talking about the thing in itself... it tastes like rubber... kinda like ricotta, which tastes like styrofoam...

I have to disagree. Tofu and styrofoam (and rice cakes) are all flavorless. Good ricotta cheese does not belong in the same group with these non-food items.

Notice I said GOOD ricotta cheese. That stuff at Wal-Mart that is alleged to be ricotta is more like the tofu, rice cakes and styrofoam.

Today is a beautiful day. The dawn is pink and clear, hoping it warms up a little... and that people come out. Though on perfect days like today they don't, typically.

Also, was reminded of a favorite word: purloined. My mom would call that a $0.50 (remember when we used the cent sign?) I like the $0.50 words! They make me happy.

Bread is rising and I should go get ready, but I feel nearly whiny about having to do so. I bet I'll take a great nap this afternoon.

Two of my classes are like Crossfit for the brain.

I have an exam on Monday. After that I can start thinking like a regular person again.

In the mean-time: exam mode. :p

Have you tried Shaun T's workout videos? I did Hip Hop Abs last month and I ordered Insanity but it was too much for me! LOL I'll stick with HHA for now.

I guess I just didn't think there would be many Japanese in Brazil. I guess I was wrong. Cool. :)

I was right. Epic nap this afternoon.

Sales went better than expected. A writer acquaintance and his wife drove down (2 hours out of their way) to get some cheesecake and bread from me. I met him at a Christian writer's conference a year and a half ago. That was great fun. His wife is really lovely!

Sales were better than expected, for which I am grateful. Sold out of a few flavors, which always makes me happy. Was yelled at by a customer because I sold out of the one they wanted before they go there.... it's a risk you take. She drove 30 minutes!! I make so many and you can't expect to show up at 3:30pm on Saturday (end of a two day market) and expect that everything you want will be available. The yelling stunk.

I really want to sleep more. I'm so tired. But I should probably wait till bedtime now. Sigh. I think I'm fighting off whatever crud that people around town have been getting.

Think zinc. Recommend acquisition of zinc via cold-eeze or generic equivalent.
