The man made doctrine of once saved always saved is a doctrine leading those who believe it away from the truth. It is a doctrine of the devil and you should run away as fast as you can and turn and believe in Jesus Christ and his finished work.

Here is what the scripture say: " He that HEARTH my word and BELIEVTH on him that sent me has EVERLASTING life.: John 5:24 (KJV). And John 6:40 and 47 say "every one who seeth the Son and believeth on him, may have everlasting life, "He that believeth on me HATH everlasting life".

Now I don't know what you believe in and you may well lose whatever it is you believe in but it is not Jesus Christ the Lord else you would NEVER say one of his can lose what he has given them. I cannot now or ever lose God's wonderful gift of life given to his elected blood bought children. He knows who are his and his own know him and follow him. Were like sheep following the good shepherd, when he calls us.

If you don't hear him and believe in him you are not his, and you believe not. John 10:24 thru 26 says plainly "But you believe not because you are not of my sheep, as I said unto you. My sheep hear my voice and I know them and they follow me, and I give to them eternal life, and they shall never perish" Repent from your ways, turn to Christ and believe him.

All else leads to damnation, destruction and death.
But believing on the Lord our God brings life, peace AND everlasting life thru him alone who is able to do as he pleases, now and forever.

Do you hear his word and believe on him? May God bless you as ONLY he can do.

I believe in once saved always saved!!! Clearly taught in the bible

Its once prayed always saved I have a problem with!!!!

Can you lose your salvation???
This suggests two contradictory statements.

1) That salvation is yours.. (Can you...lose YOUR)
2) and that salvation is conditional based upon YOUR choice for him or against him. Which then puts YOU at the very centre of saving yourself!!! hence following maintaining yourself also.

Salavation is of the lord, so when God saves since God does the saving, the question is reversed to a God centred view and understanding.
Can God lose your salvation? rather than Can I lose my salvation?
to answer this question is simply by answering this question:
Who does the saving???
Whoever does the saving is the very same being that does the maintaining.
Clearly God does the saving so therefore God is the one who finishes that which has been started.
and once your saved, God will never lose you and their no longer remains condemnation for those that are his.
Remember we didn't choose him, he chose us.

However don't think a person is saved because they professed faith because it is possessing faith that determines if one is saved not professing faith. Many professing faith Christians few possessing faith Christians.
Hence once prayed always saved is the statement we should be attacking not once saved always saved.

Agree.. Mental agreement (mere belief) will never save anyone.

Why are so many people have such a self important attitude that they think they need their own thread on a topic that has countless threads already?
Can't help but laugh at the notion that so many people on this site that Pride themselves on their Human intellect actually have so little to say because all they do is go in circles on the same subjects, presenting the same arguments. And never realizing they aren't changing anyone's mind, except turning new and non-beleivers away from God and the bible.
This section of the forums boasts the most ungodly levels of pride and forms more dissension, and does it in such a shallow, hallow way. So little here is reflective of God or His nature. This from those that pride themselves as spiritual and intellectual Giants. I don't understand how people who think so highly of themselves can be so oblivious and callous.

Brother, isn't this exactly what OSAS preaches?
It only works for those who continue to abide in the doctrinal teachings of the Lord, once one falls away from His ways to go back to their own lusts and desires they are no longer under that grace of God through faith in the Lord.

OSAS claims all believers are saved from minute one and nothing can change that, but the bible clearly teaches other wises as Acts 20:28-31 shows disciples(believers) getting drawn away, and here is a list that shows what believers can still do:

1. Fall from grace - Gal. 5:1-4,13
2. Be led away with error - 2 Pet. 3:17
3. Err from the truth - James 5:19-20
4. Weak brother may perish - 1 Cor. 8:11
5. Fall into condemnation - James 5:12
6. Be moved away from the hope - Col. 1:21-23
7. Deny the Lord who bought them - 2 Pet. 2:1
8. Depart from the living God - Heb. 3:12
9. Can be a castaway - 1 Cor. 9:27
10. Can become accursed children - 2 Pet. 2:14

Plus ask around about Luke 6:46-49 and John 3:21, and also why words like should, may, and might get overlooked in scriptures from that doctrine ??? Also the true doctrine of OSAS says falling away is impossible, but Apostle Paul speaks on this topic more then anybody else in the NT showing it does and will happen !!!

things to consider
1. we were saved before the world was made.
2. works of the flesh have NO bearing on God's plan of salvation and I for one am so thankful I can rest in his finished works. I trust him. We are sinners in the flesh and saved by the spirit of God and his Grace. Were are no longer under the curse of having to keep the Law, for my Saviour has kept them for me, something I cannot do, but he has done perfectly.

Yes we are released from the curse of the law, but the bible does still show a consequence for transgressing against the Lord. How can we do this because the Lord gave us in His teachings and commands the perfect law of liberty to abide by in the faith.

To walk in love for Him and all others which will establish and uphold the moral law of God that is placed in our hearts and minds. If a brother claims to love the Lord our God but hates his brother, or continues to live in deliberate sinful ways such as sexual immorality. The bible clearly states eternal life and the Truth does not abide in such a person !!!
