Ignore is only a marginally useful function. You can still see every time someone posts, and you can bet that a lot of people who use it view the hidden posts anyways, because they just can't stand it when they think someone they have on ignore might be talking about them. Putting people on ignore just gives plausible deniability and an excuse to not respond to everything.
I say rejoice that they have you on ignore because it cuts down on the noise in the room since they're not responding to everything you say. You're probably not going to get a meaningful response from them anyways.
"Cuts down on the noise in the room?" Yes, that is true. But those who follow others around looking for excuses to create discord are successfully doing the adversary's bidding by goading people into arguments hoping they will manifest as huge of a lack of the fruit of the Spirit as they themselves do. A pm is a good thing but these people won't use it because their game is to be seen by as many others as possible while they try to defame someone else's character.
