Ignore Button Abuse: Ignorance is NOT BLISS!!!

You can still see every time someone posts, and you can bet that a lot of people who use it view the hidden posts anyways, because they just can't stand it when they think someone they have on ignore might be talking about them. I say rejoice that they have you on ignore because it cuts down on the noise in the room since they're not responding to everything you say. You're probably not going to get a meaningful response from them anyways.

"Cuts down on the noise in the room?" Yes, that is true. But those who follow others around looking for excuses to create discord are successfully doing the adversary's bidding by goading people into arguments hoping they will manifest as huge of a lack of the fruit of the Spirit as they themselves do. A pm is a good thing but these people won't use it because their game is to be seen by as many others as possible while they try to defame someone else's character.

Using the ignore button is ignorant because if what you believe is truly false, then you wouldn't know it because you silence opposing ideas. To use the ignore button keeps you in ignorance of the truth if, indeed, what you believe is false but you would never figure that out if you ignore those with opposing view points.

It has caused so much strife as of late, using the ignore button and yet continuing to propagate doctrines others disagree with. Instead of having a bible study and going through the scriptures the person places people on ignore. How would that work in a bible study, in real life? Its even been pointed out, if you do have the truth and ignore others, how inconsiderate and selfish of you to withhold it. Right? The ignore feature while it has appropriate uses, it is also being abused lately to the degree that it has now caused strife and division to such a degree that the instigator is even trying to get people banned.

How can we define standing for the truth and refuting error as stalking? How can we be looked down, negatively, upon for representing the truth and refuting error? A person creates multiple threads with a perspective others disagree with and are put on ignore so they can't address him and yet they are in the wrong for being persistent in standing for the truth, at least for the sake of guests and those babes in Christ?

PS: Stop using the ignore button, ignorance is not bliss when such ignorance puts people in bondage!

By the way, you do know that these lies you have spelled out in front of everyone, and the others your comrades have written, amount to libel don't you?

From nolo.com legal encyclopedia:"Defamation" is a catch-all term for any statement that hurts someone's reputation. Written defamation is called "libel," and spoken defamation is called "slander."

I see no need for THIS . . . I do not see any lies in Ben's post . . . He could be mistaken as to WHY he was put on ignore. . . but I honestly don't think so - I have seen it myself.

The modus operandi of some around here is to attack the character of those who disagree with them, instead of 'attacking' the points of discussion. As I'm sure you know, this is called ad hominem (against the man), which is a logical fallacy employed by those who can't support a position based on it merits. Ad hominem is a sure sign that someone has lost an argument.

sorry...I see it was actually just us 2 that posted that verse

however, just me has advised the same in the other thread

I just totally loose respect when a so called believer thinks they can call other believers a devil or of the devil

IMO, the devil's job is made so much easier when believers allow him to speak through their lips in such accusations

and of course the fav name to call another who will not put the yoke of the law on their neck is pharisee

it's basically hopeless to reach a person who identifies with others that way

Dear friends, no matter how much you get angry, scream at the screen these are ideas, words, concepts we are talking about. We have not killed people personally, or set them up to die, innocents framed.

Now Jesus was talking to the rulers of Israel under occupation by the romans. These rulers had got people killed, and for power reasons did not care about truth but only their own survival. Now to suggest anyone here is remotely in this same category is insane, and simply a lie. And these authorities were a threat to Jesus's life, and as Paul found out, where quite capable of assination or any other tactic to remove opponents. Paying for Judas to finger Jesus out of the public gaze shows how far they were prepared to go.

Now at worst people are putting their sincere ideas across. I do admire the sincerity and openness, though I may not agree with them, this is a good thing. I wish more could share like this, because it is through sharing we find out who we are and what we believe and can move forward.

I have been accused of reaching out for reasurance from satan as a child, which is why I am as I am today. This is the kind of fear we all face, "What if God was not God?" But I got to laugh. Only God loves, only God sent His son to die, and only God saves through sacrificial love, which if you demonstrate in your heart, you know that you are saved.

So rest assured, most here are definately saved, you may express it in different ways, and may go off the rails later, but if you cannot practice grace, maybe something is a little more off beam than you realise.

That is a bald-faced lie and you know it! He has said no such thing and to accuse anyone of thinking something - "taking a position" so evil is reprehensible.

Honesty please - if you quote someone, quote them accurately - in other words don't bold what they did not bold/emphasize in their post. I did not bold anything in that post, even though it was pretty obvious it was the lies I was addressing.

I am sorry I was not trying to quote you, I was trying to emphasis what Jesus was addressing.
I would not personally used such a verse unless it applied. Most people I know with this kind of failure are personality and emotional manipulators and not in the same league as the pharisees.

The pharisees must have be psychopaths, with no heart, in many cases, simply because they did not care. It mattered zero to them that Jesus was God, and that is what Jesus hated most. The very people who should have supported his words and actions were doing the opposite. Funnily when I was younger I felt a lack of support from a church, but it was ignorance and fear that drove them, not this level of murdering hypocracy.

I think you are very intelligent and wise, I think the rant and mockery of you is totally unwarranted. I admire you. :)

By the way, what lies are you talking about.

My kids when I say something and then clarify what I meant, accuse me of changing the story. So I got to laugh.
Only when the reader or listener reflects back the ideas you intend to convey do you know they understood them. They may comment on the phrases in a way you did not expect, and seem to imply something you did not mean.

That is not a lie just a miss-understanding. Its intent is not to hurt, but maybe to make a point about something the reader feels strongly. I was attacked at length for holding to grace with no fruit ideas or possibly grace with fruit of works through the law. It was a bit nuts because it took a long time to convince them I did not hold the view they hated so much.

These forums are full of this, so care has to be taken. This is my take on this.
