We're not talking Disciple Dave, here.
I use original language exegesis when arriving at a conclusion.
You run from the original languages....it scares you to think that you could be wrong....and...you most certainly are...
That is the problem Bowman, you are so proud of your education, that you think you are infallible. You fail to understand, that correctly interpreting the Scriptures involves the leading of the Holy Spirit, being Born Again, with an eternally alive human spirit in you that also thinks, which is in tune with and being taught by the Holy Spirit Himself. You use only that fallible mind that lies between your ears, with no input from the Holy Spirit, nor the spiritual mind of the heart that EVERY truly born again Christian has.
1 Corinthians 2:1-16 (NIV)
[SUP]
1 [/SUP] When I came to you, brothers,
I did not come with eloquence or superior wisdom as I proclaimed to you the testimony about God.
[SUP]
2 [/SUP] For I resolved to know nothing while I was with you except Jesus Christ and him crucified.
[SUP]
3 [/SUP] I came to you in weakness and fear, and with much trembling.
[SUP]
4 [/SUP]
My message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words,
but with a demonstration of the Spirit's power,
[SUP]
5 [/SUP]
so that your faith might not rest on men's wisdom,
but on God's power.
[SUP]
6 [/SUP]
We do, however, speak a message of wisdom among the mature,
but not the wisdom of this age or of the rulers of this age, who are coming to nothing.
[SUP]
7 [/SUP] No,
we speak of God's secret wisdom, a wisdom that has been hidden and that God destined for our glory before time began.
[SUP]
8 [/SUP]
None of the rulers of this age understood it, for if they had, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.
[SUP]
9 [/SUP] However, as it is written: "No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him"--
[SUP]
10 [/SUP] but
God has revealed it to us by his Spirit. The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God.
[SUP]
11 [/SUP] For who among men knows the thoughts of a man except the man's spirit within him? In the same way no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God.
[SUP]
12 [/SUP]
We have not received the spirit of the world but the Spirit who is from God,
that we may understand what God has freely given us.
[SUP]
13 [/SUP]
This is what we speak, not in words taught us by human wisdom but in words taught by the Spirit,
expressing spiritual truths in spiritual words.
[SUP]
14 [/SUP]
The man without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God,
for they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them,
because they are spiritually discerned.
[SUP]
15 [/SUP] The spiritual man makes judgments about all things, but he himself is not subject to any man's judgment:
[SUP]
16 [/SUP] "For who has known the mind of the Lord that he may instruct him?" But we have the mind of Christ.
John 14:26 (KJV)
[SUP]26 [/SUP] But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
The translators of nearly every Bible Translation UNDERSTOOD this, and that is why they did not trust a single man translating the BIBLE by himself. INSTEAD, they assembled a team of translators, who checked and double checked each others work. THEY PRAYED DAILY TO BE FILLED WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT AS THEY TRANSLATED, and still they checked and double checked each other's work.
AND here you sit doing your own translating with absolutely NO ONE checking your work, and no input from the Holy Spirit, SPOUTING that all of our Biblical Scholars and all the Translation Teams of the past got it all wrong.
