Because it is God breathed.

2 Tim 3:15 And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.
16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

Quite true, the Bible is all these things, but why ONLY the Bible? These verses don't rule out other sources of Truth.

God did chose to preserve someone from sin and that person was Jesus Christ. If God had the power to keep Mary free from sin then God had the power to keep Jesus free from sin.

By claiming God had to keep Mary free from sin in order to keep Jesus free from sin proves you know nothing about God and what He says in the Scriptures dallasb78.

Romans 5:12
[SUP]12 [/SUP] Therefore, just as through one man sin entered into the world, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men, because all sinned--

Sin entered the World through Adam. It was a Male, Adam, who brought sin into the World and its through the Male that the sins are passed to the child in the Womb. Therefore Mary could not pass on the sins to Jesus in the Womb. Only the Father of Jesus could do that and the Father of Jesus was the Holy Spirit who is sinless.

Full of Grace does not mean sinless dallasb78. Where in the Scriptures does God say full of Grace means being without sin? Its the Catholic Church and Satan that teaches this, not God and not us True Christians.

The problem with you dallasb78 is you are listening to the teachings from Satan. Its Satan who told the Catholic Church that Mary was without sin. Its Satan who told the Catholic Church that "Full of Grace' meant being without sin.

The Catholic Church today is following Satan as their God. You need to make up your mind. Are you going to Worship and follow Jesus Christ and His Truths or are you going to continue in the Catholic Church listening to and teaching the lies from Satan your God?

You are fighting against God and His Truths when you teach the lie that Mary was without sin.

2 Peter 2:1-3
[SUP]1 [/SUP] But false prophets also arose among the people, just as there will also be false teachers among you, who will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the Master who bought them, bringing swift destruction upon themselves.
[SUP]2 [/SUP] And many will follow their sensuality, and because of them the way of the truth will be maligned;
[SUP]3 [/SUP] and in their greed they will exploit you with false words; their judgment from long ago is not idle, and their destruction is not asleep.
God is not asleep dallasb78, His Judgment against you is not idle. Repent and turn away from Satan before its too late and you find yourself cast into the Lake of Fire with your God Satan.

Jesus wasn't preserved from sin by God. Jesus is God. He cannot sin because He is perfectly sinless by His own merit. Mary is not sinless by her own merit but only by God's grace.

Hi DallasB78,

The problem with what you are claiming above is that it goes directly against what the word of God as to say about this issue:

"What shall we conclude then? Do we have any advantage? Not at all! For we have already made the charge that Jews and Gentiles alike are all under the power of sin. As it is written: “There is no one righteous, not even one; there is no one who understands; there is no one who seeks God. All have turned away, they have together become worthless; there is no one who does good, not even one.”

"But now apart from the law the righteousness of God has been made known, to which the Law and the Prophets testify. This righteousness is given through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference between Jew and Gentile, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.

According to the scriptures above, this would include Mary as well. Even Mary called Jesus, Lord. Mary, who is truly a blessed woman, was used by God to bring Christ into the world, but she was a sinner just as everyone else is and therefore, needed salvation. Mary, just like all of the other OT saints, will be resurrected when the time comes. On the other hand, there is no scripture to support any of the claims made regarding Mary by Roman Catholicism, including her being preserved from original sin. For scripture states:

"Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all people, because all sinned--"

Therefore, Mary being a human being is also included as being a sinner. Again, there is nothing in scripture that would exclude her as being free from sin. Please provide the scriptures that support anything about Mary that the RCC has claimed regarding her.

Thanks!
The problem with this interpretation is that "not even one" would include Jesus.

I will assume that you meant 'does not'.

It is to many RCs. Your church revels in double meanings.

He was not her Son, only her son. He inherited none of His Godhood as the Son from her. He inherited His manhood as her son.

Not in the case of Jesus. His mind and will were divine.

Of course it is true. Show me one Scripture that says otherwise, and not some verse of indeterminable meaning twisted to say what you want.

He can but He did not. God made a turnip without original sin. But Mary was born of someone with original sin and inherited that sin. He could have made all the world without original sin. But He did not. Why make an exception in Mary' case when it was UNNECESSARY? Jesus was born without original sin because His Spirit and soul were divine and untainted. He did not need a sinless mother. Indeed Scripture goes on to show that Mary sinned precisely because she was born with original sin.

The word means 'engraced'. It is used of all Christians in Eph 1.6. There is no element of 'full' in the original word. This is called twisting the Greek to deceive people. What it actually means is that God had shown unmerited love towards her. He had surrounded her with His grace as He does all Christians.

Rubbish. Show me that in Scripture. That is heresy.

Oh so you speak for God do you? In fact He did have it some other way. He produced sinless Jesus through sinful Mary.

In fact NO WOMAN was or is fit to carry GOD HIMSELF in the womb. It was through His unmerited love that He allowed it.
Point 1. Yes I meant "does not".

Point 2. Sorry, No catholic believes Mary created God. If there is they are heretical. Official Catholic believe is defined by the Church, not by individual catholics.

Point 3. "her Son" and "her son" are the same Person. There is only One Christ.

Point 4. Jesus is fully human, and fully Divine. No protestant or Catholic is to believe otherwise.

Point 5. It is true with Mary, and history doesn't need to be in Scripture to be true.

Point 6. He did preserve her sinless, He made an exception because it was fiting to have God Himself come into the world through a woman without sin. He is worthy of no less. Just like the Word of God in the Old Testament was kept in a flawless vessel(The Ark of the Covenant).

point 7. The Church and you disagree on the meaning of the verses. I will go with the Church.

Point 8. Something doesn't have to be in Scripture to be true. Only heresy in your opinion.

Point 9. I don't speak for God, but the Church does in matters of Faith and Morals. I am just repeating the doctrine of the Church.

Answer this: "Did Jesus rise from the dead because the Bible says so?" or "Does the Bible say so because Jesus rose from the dead?"

It is irrelevant what the catechism teaches. What matters is what GOD teaches in His word.
It is relevant because someone accused me of worshiping the devil based on things no catholic is taught in church.

God honors His word above all else. God cannot lie. Heaven and earth shall pass away but not one jot or tittle will be lost from Gods word.

Mt 5:18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.
Lu 16:17 And it is easier for heaven and earth to pass, than one tittle of the law to fail.

These verses say that the Bible cannot fail, not that it is the only source of Truth.

All else may be a truth but Gods word is The Truth.

Contradictions abound in the words of men. Many books written by men are revised and updated as new information comes into view but Gods word does not change and is never wrong.

The popes are continuously revising church dogma to adapt it to the current mode to thinking. Keeping it correct in the modern age. Yesterdays sin is todays fad.

Contradictions do exist in the words of men but not the the doctrine of the Church. See 1 Timothy 3:15

Actually it's the protestant churches that have given in to fads. 500 years ago no Church believed in contraception or divorce two name just two examples. The Catholic church has never changed its doctrine, only added to it as the Holy Spirit revealed new truths about the faith. That's why to this day divorce is still a grave sin and Marriage is still a Holy Sacrament meant primarily for procreation.

Apparently you are not keeping up with your new pope. He's changing things as fast as he can. He's going to allow sodomy real soon. He is just picking around the edges right now but incorporating a social gospel will give him the latitude to bring all kinds if sin into the Roman church.

Right now you're just amusing. Any church doctrine that is not based upon the word of God is a contradiction waiting to happen.

Pope Francis hasn't changed a doctrine of the church and he will not. He will not allow sodomy as many protestant churches have. The Holy Spirit will not allow it. He may be a bad pope, but we have had those before with no changes to church doctrine.

He has already said its ok for divorced catholics to receive communion. He has said that he's open to the possibility of alien life in the universe. He's selling you out so fast it's not even funny.

He didn't say it was Ok, he just wanted to encourage dabate about it. Regardless none of these statements are "Ex Cathedra". Like I said, He might not be the most conservative pope but God will not allow him to change doctrine.

He's making it as easy as he can since so many catholics are divorced or divorcing. He's ruling like Obama and just changing what he wants and skirting the Jesuits.

The Father of Jesus is "God the Father" not the Holy Spirit. God didn't have to keep Mary free from sin in order for Jesus to be free from sin(because Jesus is God), but the Holiness of God requires a sinless vessel. Being "Full of Grace" means to have the full measure of grace that God can give resulting in sinlessness. I do not worship Satan.

The funniest thing about this thread is non catholics telling catholics what they believe.
