Writings of the Saint of Calcutta
That book isn't Teresa's. In point of fact, Teresa wanted her private letters
destroyed after her death, but the Church refused.

It was compiled and edited with commentary by Father Brian Kolodiejchuk,
M.C. who, at the time, was the director of the Mother Teresa Center, and a
Postulator in favor of her canonization.

BTW: The book was referenced once already in the very beginning of this
thread down at the bottom of post #1.

She is dead and God will Judge.
so lets worry about people that still have their probation open, We can talk about her all we want but it want change the outcome. ONLY God can judge her outcome.

I don't think we can immediately right of someone as not being a Christian or whatever if the world praises them. We have to be extra discerning when this happens, but sometimes it's because the world (as deceived as it is) sometimes recognises the goodness of God (even if they don't know what it is) in people or stories etc.

The book is a collection of Teresa's letters written privately to spiritual counselors; published with hierarchy approval by her long-time friend Rev. Brian Kolodiejchuk M.C.; director of the Mother Teresa Center, and a Postulator in favor of her canonization.
Why would a so-called friend and the RCC do this against her wishes?
I feel bad for her being exposed this way.


Teresa wanted her private letters destroyed after her death, but the Church refused.

To be a friend of the world is to be at enmity with God. Be in the world but not of it. The ways of the world in general are evil, so if you speak Godly truth you quickly become unliked by the world.

She called the world to task for abortion, war, disease, poverty, and death. She proclaimed that it was the Love of God alone that could combat this. Her's was a way of non-violence and in many ways, non-interference. Those that sought Christ, she taught of Christ. Those that did not, but came for soup, medicine, clothing, or comfort in death, got soup, medicine, clothing, and comfort in death. They buried them according to their wishes, and then would stay vigil, asking that God had moved at the person's last moments.

The issue here is, most likely, none of you have met a Missionary of Charity (Mother Teresa's order of impoverished nuns). I have.

She walked into the kitchen with a bucket of plates. The sisters smiled at her as she grimaced in pain. She put the plates in the sink and sat down quietly. Suddenly, she was surrounded by her sisters, a friar, and a man who was seeking his vocation, to see if she was okay. She responded softly as a smile appeared on her face, "If I am to suffer from back pain in order to serve those less fortunate than me, then I count it as a blessing. For Christ carried a cross on a back marked with whips. Mine is but a trifle." The sisters smiled, the friar laughed, and I (the man seeking a vocation) felt as if I was in the presence of wisdom.

That is a Missionary of Charity. They often only have hot water in their orphanages and soup kitchens, but not in their own convents. "Hot water is a luxury that we cannot afford to give ourselves," is what one of the sisters told me.

Their final words to me were these, "May you have left us with more than you came with, and may you come to know Jesus greater than we."

This Order of Sisters worships Christ.

Why would the RCC so blatantly disregard her wishes in this matter?
It seems so incredibly disrespectful to ignore her explicit preferences.

I am sure that she had a good heart though misguided in sofar as not allowing the people she was nursing, antibiotics and painkillers and telling them instead that it was more noble to suffer pain. But there are some very dodgy reports out there with regards to the funding that she received and where it went and no, l don't believe everything that l read on the internet but l always think that the saying is true that where there is smoke there is fire and there must be some truth in the accusations.

I met her once and was in a line of people saying hello to her and shaking her hand and she was absolutely tiny in size. There was nothing about her that would lead me to believe that she was born again. Her talk did not give any glory to Christ. It rather, encouraged praise for herself.

Then there isn't much point to founding hundreds of hospitals, orphanages, clinics etc. so your statement is false. In addition, pain killers and antibiotics may not always have been available, or used up.

No, there isn't. What has been objected to is her spending some of the donated money, used at her discretion, to expand her order. There is nothing sinister in this.

You mean she didn't talk like a Protestant holding an altar call.

It's not fair to pass judgement based on one short talk, and maybe in the context of her talk, "giving glory to Christ" was not appropriate. She dedicates her life to "giving glory to Christ" by serving the poor and suffering, a lesson that seems to wiz by Protestants like you. Maybe you should do some volunteer work with the Missionaries of Charity and find out what giving glory to Christ really means.

It has been well documented that only a fraction of the donations were used that way. And her words have been documented saying that she believed suffing pain was blessed and that is why it was not relieved in her clinics. Some of the money has been used to support dictatorships apparently but I have not gone into it in any depth. Some here may want to do some research themselves.

When she spoke in a famous protestant cathedral 40 years ago, she had the opportunity to dispell the myth that she was a hero, which any sincere Christian would do finding such hero worship that she received, distasteful. She didn't. I do not support Protestantism and find your attack interesting and telling.

Truth is truth. For some it's merciful, for some it's brutal. Whether her destiny is brutal or merciful was her choice, and only GOD knows what that was. We, however, are authorized to examine evidence in order to discern truth for our own journey.
