In a recent CharismaNews article, Dr. Michael Brown confronts what he calls the “dangerous error” of the hyper-grace movement. He describes the foundational doctrines of this movement as follows; (1) we have been made righteous by the blood of Jesus, (2) all our sins have been forgiven, (3) the Holy Spirit never convicts believers of sin, and (4) we need never repent for nor confess our sins.

All this sounds like the end of the world is upon us....Let's have a look at what is being said.....

People who argue against grace (no such thing as hyper-grace) have obviously never experienced it

True brother..I heard a guy say one time that ...grace is only understood by means of revelation from God. ..other then that..it "looks" like lawlessness to the natural mind

People who argue against grace (no such thing as hyper-grace) have obviously never experienced it

Hyper-Grace is just a marketing term for the Emergent Church Movement (ECM) that Michael Brown leveraged to find a niche for himself and his book IMO. The spirit behind ECM is postmodern relativism and the goal is deconstruction of historical Christianity. In essence, it's Christ without doctrine, i.e., lawlessness.

The things of God are foolish to those who are not his.

1. God pays the penalty for all sin, and mankind does not have to even help pay for his own sin.. foolishness

That is why straight and narrow is the gate, and few their be.. People say it is to easy, hyper grace, easy greasy grace.

Well guess what, it is thought to be so easy, no one will believe it.. This it is the hardest thing to do.

Religion s easy.. Pick your religion, your rules. your idea of what you think need to be done, Find the church that teaches that, and your in. All these different churches, religions with all these different ways (wide and open the gate)

Saying fall on your knees, and trust God completely (something not seen) to save you.. Not that,, that is foolishness..

Well yeah, the things of God are foolish to the wisdom of men.

Oh you mean like James and Jude spoke against. What Jude said was licentiousness.

Well as james said, If you CLAIM to have faith, but are hears of the word and not doers (have no work) Your faith is dead. you have never been saved to begin with

Jude says their condemnation was long before pre-ordained, Thus they had never been saved to begin with.

So why all the war against this false doctrine, which states these people claim to be saved, but have never been born again,, When no one here is even believing or teaching such a thing.. Even those arguing against it are not arguing against the false doctrine, they are trying to put all people who believe in Saved by Grace alone in the same boat. when they are not..

I read yesterday that hyper grace people claim that they do not even have to obey Christ's teachings.

Doctrine is meaningless to them. They just use the bible to justify their experience, which is their doctrine.

Here is a brief description for those who don't know what Hyper-Grace is:

The term hyper-grace has been used to describe a new wave of teaching that emphasizes the grace of God to the exclusion of other vital teachings such as repentance and confession of sin. Hyper-grace teachers maintain that all sin, past, present, and future, has already been forgiven, so there is no need for a believer to ever confess it. Hyper-grace teaching says that, when God looks at us, He sees only a holy and righteous people. The conclusion of hyper-grace teaching is that we are not bound by Jesus’ teaching, even as we are not under the Law; that believers are not responsible for their sin; and that anyone who disagrees is a pharisaical legalist. In short, hyper-grace teachers “pervert the grace of our God into a license for immorality

Hyper grace? No such thing

Licentious people? People who lack faith? Of course they believe this, Yet James and Jude says they WERE NEVER SAVED.

Sadly, you all are fighting licentiousness, NOT OSAS.

try to learn who your enemy is, and you may be able to see (scripture calls it taking the plank out of your eye)

Yeah and who here teaches it?

Again, you have not shown me one person who teaches you can be a hear of the word and not a doer. and live however you want..

So you make accusations, where is your proof?

I do not know about anyone else. But I am getting sick of falsly being accused of teaching something I would never even think of teaching

How can it be new age, when Paul, James and Jude spoke against it.

This is getting quite comical. Like it is some new thing..

Hi Grace,

I didn't write this. I copied and pasted this definition of what Hyper-Grace is.

Our Hyper-Grace guru who posted this OP thinks that John Crowder, who eschews doctrine, is a fine example of Hyper-Grace. That's one.

Thats not proof You made an accusation just because of hearsay?

Yet he has never said one can not be a hearer and not a doer. or anyone can live as he want. in fact, he continues to say the opposite..

And I am going to be honest. I never read John Crowder. But you would not be one I would listen to to determine what John really teaches, because you think we all teach it is ok to live in sin..

So again, Can you show me one person. name a post.. where anyone says they can live in sin, and however they want, and deny all of Gods teachings and still be saved..

Cause if you can, I need to get beside you and explain to that person he is in error.

No. It's a marketing term for the messianic Michael Brown. And your continued efforts to link the message of Grace to anything and anyone you perceive to be heretical, reveals only your own ignorance and nothing else.
