Yes, it is unwise to erupt in tongues in the presence of those who do not understand the gift, and especially so when praying over that same person. It can cause offense, which in blondie's case, it did. That kind of offense can fester and cause the person to willfully continue in unbelief concerning tongues. The Christian must not allow that, because it hinders, and should study and ask God about this and wait for His voice in the matter.
.
The problem is that you have is we are not unbelievers of the gift of tongues, we are speaking up against how it is misused in the churches.
We are explaining to you how the Word of God clearly shows what they are and how they are ministered, yet you want to blame the person who interrupts the one doing it wrongly instead of admit how they were doing it was wrong.
That is not necessarily so. What was wrong was insulting God and interrupting someone's communing with Him. If she was offended, she need only step away. Kindness is a fruit of the Spirit.
Stopping someone from praying to God as if that person was praying to her is not of God. It is pride. Personal offense can lead a person to hurt people.
.
This right here in this response showing you doing just what I said blaming the person who was offended, instead of blaming the one who was wrongfully speaking in tongues.
You do know it is a sin to cause offense to another, which is why the bible expressly says to do it in silence or private or there must be an interpreter available !!!
The bible warns about doing things in front of other people to cause them to stumble, but you are defending and allowing this false practice of tongue's to be done.
If there is no interpreter and others are offended then the one doing it is in the wrong, not the person offended !!!
