In your patient endurance you possess your souls. Luke 21:19

Therefore do not throw away your confidence, which has great reward. For you have need of patient endurance, in order that [after you] have done the will of God, you may receive what was promised. Hebrews 10:35-36

I have spoken to over 1,500 doctors in my lifetime and I can assure you just as JesusIsAll said...they are all practicing.....

Did you know we have a much greater chance of dying from going to a doctor then from being shot?....I think it's about 9 times greater..if I remember correctly....it's a crazy statistic ..

A lot of patience comes from having an eternal perspective, that this world is not our home, not our life, rather our real lives hidden in Jesus Christ, incorruptible and in glory. Just ask yourself how much most things happening in this corrupt world are going to matter ten thousand years from now, or a hundred years, or even tomorrow. It seems most things which unsettle people and have them tied in knots are of the flesh, temporary things, so much involved with being caught up in the here and now. You have to ask yourself how much a few years worth of anxiously wallowing in a world filled with sin and corruption, that can never satisfy, matter, in terms of a better eternity. Just the thought that there's everything so much better coming, and to wait for, dwarves everything the world is chasing after. You don't even have to be on that merry-go-round in your heart, when your eyes are set on the Lord and eternity. It's like that saying you know how rich you are, when you consider what you have that death can't take away.

Romans 2:7 To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life.

2 Corinthians 4:16-18 For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day. For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory; While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.

Colossians 3:1-4 If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.

It's kinda the same reasoning that we call it "going Fishing", and not Catching.........

And most of them hide it from everybody, engaging in private practice.

(meanwhile back to the OP)

Psalms 30:5) For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.

Moses must have learned patience in the desert.

First he was 40 and impatient to deliver his brethren from the Egyptian yoke and ended that attempt messing things up.
Then he was another 40 years on the backside of the desert...perhaps learning some patience.
So he was 80 when the Lord put him into His service.
Well he blew it one time striking the rock, ok, ok but you can tell he was quite patient with unbelieving Israel the rest of the time.

James 5:11) Behold, we count them happy which endure. Ye have heard of the patience of Job, and have seen the end of the Lord; that the Lord is very pitiful, and of tender mercy.

Yep, there's one way to learn patience...read the BDF and learn not to respond with anger, kinda like Patience Bootcamp.

Ro 5:3 And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience;

Re 1:9 I John, who also am your brother, and companion in tribulation, and in the kingdom and patience of Jesus Christ, was in the isle that is called Patmos, for the word of God, and for the testimony of Jesus Christ.

In no hurry for patience.

For the cause of Christ

This is the third time this week that God has brought this exact verse to me. I think I need to memorize it, and figure out what God wants me to do with it!

Thanks for posting it!

Prayer of the Impatient...

Lord, life is short, please hurry. :p

******************************************

Well maybe we'd do better with a hymn on Patience...

  1. Have Thine own way, Lord! Have Thine own way!
Thou art the Potter, I am the clay.
Mold me and make me after Thy will,
While I am waiting, yielded and still.
  2. Have Thine own way, Lord! Have Thine own way!
Search me and try me, Master, today!
Whiter than snow, Lord, wash me just now,
As in Thy presence humbly I bow.
  3. Have Thine own way, Lord! Have Thine own way!
Wounded and weary, help me, I pray!
Power, all power, surely is Thine!
Touch me and heal me, Savior divine.
  4. Have Thine own way, Lord! Have Thine own way!
Hold o’er my being absolute sway!
Fill with Thy Spirit till all shall see
Christ only, always, living in me.

I was encouraging a young woman this morning who cannot believe God would save her, because of the evil of her sins. I ended with this verse, which is not just about patience, but all the fruits of the Spirit. This is where we all need to be going. I don't think anyone has all these fruits in their life.

"But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,23 gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law." Gal. 5:22-23
