A believer., a born again child of God is not sinless., we will sin because we still have this flesh to work out what Christ has put in. But Christ gave us the gift of no condemnation. We have been purged from a guilty conscience and the way to wisely USE this gift of no condemnation is by applying grace.

And so, a born again Christian is not sinless., a born again Christian is guiltless.

I've posted on these forums long enough to know many will disagree with this. But reading the many struggles of the believers who come to CC looking for help, it's clear that an understanding of grace and the gift of no condemnation must be applied. Most Christians don't avail themselves to this amazing grace we have been given. Jesus didn't say get cleaned up before you come and ask for help.

I think that's what's meant when the bible calls people blameless (instead of sinless or perfect).

We are guiltless because we are in Christ and clothed with his irreproachable righteousness. That's really grace in a nutshell.

That's actually the proper way to interpret our stand as Christians under Christ Jesus.

We can never be perfect without sin like our Lord Jesus while still in the flesh. Like Apostle Paul said, "For he that is dead is freed from sin." (Rom.6:7).

Yet we as believers on The Father and His Son have an Advocate (Christ Jesus) to represent us before The Father, in forgiving our sins so we can be 'counted' perfect in His sight (1 John 2:1).

If we say we have no sin, we make Him a liar, and His Word is not in us, as per the Apostle John (1 John 1:10). If we confess our sin to Christ, He is faithful to forgive us and cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9).

Guilt, condemnation and shame are never the tools of the kingdom and the Lord does not sub-contract out these to the enemy.

Guilt is a sub-conscious confession ( what you hear about yourself ) that you are not forgiven.

Condemnation is the sub-conscious confession ( what you hear about yourself ) that your life is worthy of judgment.

Shame is the sub-conscious confession ( what you hear about yourself ) that the thing you are condemned over is still who you are.

All 3 of the above are anti-Christ and anti-the finished work of Christ. These are not tools of heaven.

I suppose the biblical way of saying it would be we "receive" His grace...which is the same as applying/accepting it to our lives....it's good to receive the gift of righteousness too..

The no condemnation belongs to those who are no longer in the flesh, or no longer walking in the lusts of the flesh, or no longer living in sin, which is the works of the flesh.

Those who defend ongoing sin do so because they are still in the flesh, and unable to cease from sin because they are not yet truly born again of the Spirit. So they speak of what they know naturally, and of what they see in themselves, but it is not according to the whole Truth of being truly set free from sin.

Romans 8:1There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

When you are born again of the Spirit you are no longer in the flesh.

People say as long as we are in the flesh we shall sin, which is true, that's why you must be born again of the Spirit and given a new nature in Christ. If you are truly born again of the Spirit you are no longer in the flesh, which speaks to the nature and spirit working in the world and in mankind.

Jesus said that which is born of flesh is flesh, but that which is born of Spirit is spirit. When you are truly born again of the Spirit, the old fleshy nature and body of sin dies, and so by Christ's own death and resurrection from the dead you are also then set free from the power and bondage that sin and death once had over you by way of the law of sin and death.

You can truly be set free from sin if you would only believe what Jesus and the apostles say is true. To deny this very truth, is not of faith in Christ.

Christians will and do sin ( the verb) but sin has been dealt with and is a done deal in Christ and we need to recognize that no one walks after the spirit 100% of the time. We will all in some form or other walk after the flesh at times in our life.

There is a massive difference between the flesh with the power of sin in it and the new creation in Christ. We have been circumcised from our flesh and the heart by the circumcision of Christ. ( Romans 2:29, Eph 2:11, Col. 2:11 ) Abrahams's circumcision was a type of the circumcision of Christ to come which has now been done in us.

The noun "sin" is still in our flesh which has power of sin in it still which is why we are to set our minds on the things of the spirit and not our flesh.. See Romans 7:14-21..the power of sin which is in our members wars against the mind of Christ in us.

God separates the sin as far as the east is from the west from us.

We are not in the flesh as believers but we can walk after the flesh. We are in the spirit and we should be walking after or by the spirit.

The latter clause of Romans 8:1 - who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit - is not in the older manuscripts. So it is a variant that is a possible repetition of the end of Romans 8:4, possibly done for doctrinal reasons.

So in this case, walking after the spirit produces the righteous effects of the law, but it is not the cause of no condemnation.
