Long hair is much more handy. If you don't have to do effort for a man you can just put it in a messy knot. Not all women have the face or hair for it. On some short hair looks much better. My sister cut it shorter because her husband liked it that way and it looks much better on her, but not a male coupe. If you're 80 and it's gray it doesn't really look beautiful to have it long.

I'm lucky,I can do both long or short. But not every women looks good with either style, you're right.

1 Corinthians 11:15 says a woman's long hair is her glory. And I suspect that it is the rebellious spirit in those lesbians that subconsciously compels them to defy God by cutting their hair so short.

Does that sound plausible?
I don't think it's plausible, as there's no commandment saying 'thou shalt not have short hair if thou art a woman', so there's no way to directly defy God with it.

A lesbian may have forgotten, or may have always been disconnected from, the meaning behind traditional femininity. So the symbols of that femininity may not have meaning to her, and she has no interest in long hair.

She might have a twisted negative interpretation of traditional femininity and its symbols, and may want to defy that, so maybe in an indirect way it defies God. But that's more along the lines of feminism than lesbianism.

But she might also have short hair for the same reason as straight women sometimes do. So really there's no way of knowing and I don't see a need to assume the worst.

Yeah, that and other things. Being put down for not acting traditionally. I also have had serious issues with how males are often talked about in todays socitey, I grew up with some sexist women who would intentionally talk to my brother and I about how all males are pigs and sexist and only want one thing ect ect, and I had shameful feelings for that once, and my brother became stand off-ish with females when he was younger, taking up sexist views of his own, and I 100% believe a part of it was from what happened to us as children. The same thing can happen on both ends, its something that I still kinda deal with today.
I had a similar upbringing. I had a very woman dominated family (most of the men were absent or drunkards) and they were all scorned by men...they were disrespectful and would bad talk them in my presence. After a certain time, as a male, you realize that 'hey...I'm a guy...sooo...I'm included :('...and the effects of their words and vitriol start to wear on you and cause all types of problems.

Most definitely, I believe that what happened to us as children will play out in our lives today, its directly related. But this is not our mother or father or immediate families fault...this is a result of years and years and generations upon generations of family trauma so it goes deep. We have to forgive them because they were hurt, and the generation before them were hurt, and so on and so on. We have to thank God for where we are at today, how far He has brought us in the knowledge of Him, and stop this generational thing dead in its tracks in Jesus' name.

It has a lot to do with fashion too. Right now long hair is the style. Most women you see on tv have long hair. Some actress with crop her hair in a movie then all of a sudden you'll see a lot of women cut their hair to match. I've never paid attention to what is "in" and did what was comfortable for me. But short hair can be feminine as much as long hair.

I always figured they were defying societies dominated by straight men, but you may be on to something here. Defying God takes on a whole new meaning. Next month starts softball season here in Jersey and every Tuesday evening I go watch the women's games where the overwhelming majority of players are lesbian. I'll keep this thread in mind and ask them.
Make sure you ask when they are not getting ready to bat.... just sayin.... :D

Yeah, I know it's a strange heading, but hear me out...

I have a few regular customers who are lesbians at the store where I work, and I got to thinking: Have you ever noticed that the really hardcore lesbians cut their hair very, very short? Have you ever wondered why?

1 Corinthians 11:15 says a woman's long hair is her glory. And I suspect that it is the rebellious spirit in those lesbians that subconsciously compels them to defy God by cutting their hair so short.

Does that sound plausible?
I had a friend that kept her hair short and wore manly looking clothes. Not really a feminine bone in her body. Her husband was kind of a rough, mountain man type and it didn't seem to bother him. She and I would go shopping together and when she would ask for a dressing room they would direct her to the mens dressing room. It never seemed to dawn on her that they assumed she was a man. But when her husband died a friend of hers told her she had to be more feminine to catch a man. So we were out one day and she asked me to help her buy a pair of heels. She was over 6 ft and a big, solid woman. So over we go to check out the heels. She found a pair she liked that low but still had a heel. I told her to put them on to be sure they fit. Well, I didn't know she had never been in heels in her life! She looked like a new born moose on ice. Poor thing. Everyone was looking wondering what was going on. I told her that if she did marry again she'd likely marry a man like her husband who didn't care about those sorts of things. Her other friend tried to force her into makeup and dressy clothes,it just wasn't her. She went back to her old way of dressing. She had been molested when she was young but had become a Christian. But she just couldn't be feminine,it wasn't in her nature.

The first time I wore high heels those guys behind me would laugh: Look! She can't walk on it!

I always loved this movie:

It does, which it also says that it is a shame for a man to have long hair, and we know what happened with the counterculture movement in the 60's,they grew their hair long.

to make room for my brain Larry Norman said.
Don't get that text. Jesus had (middle?) long hair, Paul let it grow long with a Nazirene promise, Samson.

Ironically, I have always had to fight for long hair, except maybe in my 20's?

When I was in high school, my mom insisted I keep my hair very short. I hated it. I had to part it on the side, which I also hated. On the bus on the school, and on the way home, my friends would help me change the part, because I didn't have a mirror. Then one summer, when my mom wanted it cut before I went on the bus south to visit my best friend, I stood up to her and said I wouldn't go, and wouldn't cut my hair. She gave in, and that was the end of her telling me what to do with my hair. I was 15 or 16. Her reasoning- only hippies wore long hair.

I had natural waves and dark brown hair with red highlights, and all I had to do was wash it, brush it once, and it dried into beautiful curls. It could not have been easier to "maintain."

Then I went to this church, and the women's group had a lady come in to do makeovers. I got picked, and she did my face and insisted I needed a short hair cut to go with the makeup transformation. Since I only wear makeup on special occasions, and very little at that, I passed on that suggestion. I think I was around 28. I was actually a little insulted, and became determined not to be some kind of magazine norm for "aging" women.

When I got older, people kept insisting I needed to just "trim" my hair to get rid of the split ends. Except they were talking taking off 8 to 10 inches. Sometimes I would get my hair cut to shoulder length, and hate it, and just grow it out. In fact, when I look around at the older women in every church I have ever been in, they ALL have short hair. I'm taking 40+. (Oh yes, I have been told that having long hair makes the face droop down and the wrinkles look worse. Except I really don't have a lot of wrinkles, so far!)

So now I am an extreme, gray haired rebel. I let my hair grow out past my shoulders. I like my hair long. It doesn't curl like it used to, it frizzes instead, because apparently the gray hair is not as thick. So I do blow dry it, especially in winter.

I don't know what churches you people are going to, but I literally never see women who are past 40 or 50 with long hair in the evangelical churches I have attended. Personally, I think it is up to the woman what she does with her hair. But I have to ask, how much is influenced by what other women are wearing, and how much that is influenced by glamour magazines?

I don't think we will ever go back to the days when all women had long hair, seeing as I have been the exception for so many years.

No its not! No haircuts, no pants, and no preaching! . . .

I can't grasp how some folks actually think that way.

LOL..it's that spirit of lawlessness that is around...what if women had short hair and wore pants while preaching?..It would be a self-proclaimed "heretic hunters" dream come true....

Please don't get me wrong - I'm not speaking of women in general who have short hairstyles. I'm speaking about those lesbians who seem to have a compulsion - subconsciously or not - to rebel against what God said about a woman's long hair being her glory, by chopping it off.
I tried a couple of times to have long hair. Long hair is too much hassle, and there's no point to it. If hair is my glory, then there is something seriously wrong with my concept of glory. Hair keeps my head warm in winter, and when it gets wet in summer, it cools me down. (BTW, hubby decided to barbeque out back right after I took a shower, so that is my hair wet... and cooling me off. lol)

I do believe people do many things to show their hatred of God, but not hair length. Most simply don't even know that's a thing in the Bible, except to cover up hair if a woman going to church. The complete world-version of what hair is.

So, maybe some are angry, but I will always think laying down hair length as a sign of rebellion against God is streeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeetching it.

I also find it telling this is now three pages long so far.

Ya but bye,bye ozone ...
Check it out. The ozone is back. It does that. Scientists can't explain it so they theorize, and next thing you know... the theory didn't pan out but no one got that memo. Boring "news coverage."
