That a woman has to be silent is not in the law. It's only in the man made law from the pharisees. Paul just quoted them in 1 Timothy, like Jesus did: You say you don't have to look after your parents. You say: a woman has to shut up like the (your) law says.
I thought we went over this....
That particular church had an issue where the women had taken over the authority in that church over the men.
This is why Paul had to correct the church.

I am not suggesting that we do anything sinful or out of God's will.
I don't believe a woman pastor is sinful, or a woman teacher, or preacher.

I have stated my reasons why. From the bible. Using history. Using commentary. And history notes by people who have devoted their lives to this sort of thing and who have come to a consensus on it. I did not just pull this out of thin air.

Please tell me, state why you think I am incorrect to come to the conclusion that the passages we are referring have nothing to do with the time they were written in. Tell my why they would apply today, as well as yesterday. Tell me why God wants woman to be quiet and not speak in church, nor can they ever teach or preach, or pastor, for as long as the earth and people exist. Please show me why these are passages out of time.
If you can show me why, using those specific passages, because those are the ones we are alluding to, then I will recount.
Because Paul is alluding to the creation order given by God.

No but He is One, Jesus is called eternal Father in Isaiah 9:6, because in Him the fullness of the Godhead dwells bodily.
Yeah it's the Godhead 3 in 1. Jesus has only one wife or else he's not quilified to be the Bishop of your soul.

Maybe I missed it but I don't think anybody answer the question I asked earlier so I will ask again. I have been married to two women, do I still qualify to be a bishop?
No. Your former sin will be held against you in this regard. Sorry.

The Bishop or overseer is a foreshadow of Christ. The qualifications laid out apply to Christ, sinful men have nothing to do with it.
An overseer ( elder, pastor) is simply an office in the local church......If they needed to have the same qualifications as Christ and a foreshadow of Christ....they should be dying on the cross for the flock...how could they be a "foreshadow" of Christ when we have the real substance of Him now with us?

this is just spiritual ignorance gone to seed....to protect a man-made tradition...

This is getting too weird for me.....I'm bowing out now..God bless you....:)

Sorry I missed your response. By the way, what is the Spirit of the law?
I am not going to give you the honor of any replies this late in the game until you answer the questions I have been asking you the last two days, without one response, btw.
Answer me, and then Mr. Pharisee, who is looking to trap me, I will answer you. At least my questions are sincere and genuine.

Thank you I agree. Based on the text of the bible I can't be a bishop. I accept it, I don't try to change the words of the bible like some on this thread are doing, I just accept it and go on.

Did the first one die? Or did you simply divorce?

1Ti 3:2 A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach;

Edit to say: I got saved, she didn't. She didn't like the new me and found her another feller.

Give me one single scripture where Christ said woman can't pastor. Just one.
Jesus said nothing in this regard while He was on the earth but Jewish custom was for the man to fulfill the priestly duties in the Jewish family order.

Paul spoke to this several times in his epistles.

1Ti 3:2 A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach;

1Ti 2:12 But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.

I find it difficult to believe that a woman could pastor and not exert authority over a man in the church.

Not that it carries any special weight but my reading and understanding of the scripture would lead me to believe that you are disqualified from pastoring a church.

There are many other ministries available but pastoring is not one of them.

Yes but He was divorced, but because He died and they with Him, Israel could marry Him again. It was forbidden to go back to your first husband.

Good stuff for another thread. I can barely keep up with women being silent in church lol.

I am sorry to hear that, for it must have been painful for you...
