Why the king james?

Every word in my NIV Bible is true. You still have not come up with any undeniable evidence and proof that the King James Bible is the only Bible to have. All I see is manipulation and deception and some amazing leaps and jumps through countless hoops.

Yes we have countless manuscripts and translations across the world, it has been preserved. I do not accept your interpretation and the manipulation of English bible texts to come to the flawed conclusion that "the King James is the perfect Bible as it has been refined seven times, seriously how deluded you are if you think this. This verse does not refer to the King James Bible, it could in fact refer to just about any other language going, how do we know it does not mean a Chinese version of the Bible?

perhaps you meant to say,

On my walk today I was talking to God and the subject of the king james only group popped up, now I have read it and while old english gives it a sense of uniqueness I asked God why the king james only group believe their bibles are the only true bible and others arent, then I remembered one of these people telling me it's because the kj is the closest to the original scriptures written I know the OT was in hebrew and I think the NT was in greek but even if the kj is the closest to the original script it still isn't the original is it?

Is there another reason for kj only people to believe their version is the only true word of God? I am just trying to understand the reason behind this

I also have pondered that ? and I was givin an interesting thought you might want to consider back in those times the kings decree's were law an carried out to the letter and he sent out an wanted exact translations to the best of their abilities back then to translate an find all information pertaining to the bible so having a king decree a correct translation an account of the word of God was done as he commanded with no commentary or paraphrasing by any one its you find out what that means or else...so having a kings decree carries a lot of weight in its corrective translation...just my opinion....

one of the big reasons king james commissioned a new bible was so he could get rid of the foot notes that the Geneva had. the GNV writers had notes that pointed to specific passages to show a kings "divine right to rule" was not the same as kings in the bible like Solomon who were kings anointed by the Almighty.

written down in the way we do today. God still existed, people still spoke with
God etc.

Sounds like a complete misinterpretation of in the beginning..the word
was with God, was God etc. Sounds like they think the bible was God in the
beginning and by the bible all things were made etc. The KJV at that!

Just how farcical can this get - it's no good debating with someone who is so
blinkered. Just hope no young Christians come on here and fall for this.

That's a good point...I remember one poster saying " When Jesus was ascending to the Father in the air...the KJV bible did not fall out of His sleeve to the earth"....I thought that said it all.......

I sometimes use the KJV but I use other "word for word translations" as well....it is as good as any other bible that is "word for word" translation.....as all translations have bias depending on who translated them...as the Greek meanings of words have many different facets to them ...the scriptures need to be read by the Holy Spirit no matter which one (s) we use......that's why there is available free access to the Greek and Hebrew words and texts in this day and age.

The Lord is accelerating our knowledge of the grace of Christ and revealing the true nature of the Father's heart to us through the many tools He has made available to all of us.

I don't think it's bible hang ups, it's the same old story... the flesh children have always persecuted the spirit children. Think about it, they hated Jesus, called him a blashpemer and eventually killed him. For what reason? Because Jesus talked about the spirit of the scripture and they couldn't understand it because they could not hear his word in the scripture. No different here on this thread, I talk about the spirit of the letter and folks hate me for it. Just wait... the stones will be flying after they read this lol.

Nobody has ever been without the word of the Lord. Back in old times the word of the Lord came to people through dreams and visions, today the word of the Lord comes to us through the bible. Nobody has ever been without the word of God.

I pray that young Christians come here and I pray that God opens their eyes quickly to see the real God of the bible not the weak pathetic god who can't even give his people an accurate bible to read in their own language.

What scripture are you referring to. The NT was not around during the time of Jesus.
Come to think of it the bible as we know it wasn't around at the time of Jesus, so he
definatley wasn't referring to the KJV???

the verses your are referring to.

(There are other verses in the NT about flesh verses the spirit, but they do not
as far as I am aware, have references to non Christians not understanding the KJV either,
but feel free to post them).

Nothing is difficult with our Lord. And if we had the originals today(which we don't), then one could argue about all the people groups who don't speak Greek and Hebrew. Would they be damned until they learned Greek and Hebrew? Of course not.

Right! So what makes the KJV bible THE bible? What makes it better than the Greek/Hebrew? What makes it better than the ESV, NIV, or any other version?


....the answer is: nothing.

Jesus was teaching from the Old Testament... he said "search the scriptures for in them you think you have eternal life but testify of me". Jesus is very rarely mentioned in the Old Testament, but he and the things that he does for the believer are hidden all over the Old Testament. Like here - David killed Bathesheeba's husband... do you see Christ in that story. It's not written down on paper, it's in the sprit of the letters.
