it might be well to note that the form of universal healthcare Sanders supports is not the British system - where doctors are employees of the government and the government actually makes some healthcare decisions. what Sanders supports is a single payer system where the government more or less acts like an insurance broker, and decision making is left to doctors and patients.

so -- talking about the government forcing someone not to eat big macs and drink slurpees, or instituting death panels isn't really relevant.

No, I do know that. Embryology is like building a human from genetic material. They are NOT sentient at the moment of conception when cells are dividing... Sentience, emotions, feelings, and pain receptors are all products of brain function. It's just not developed yet....

And I'll look up Margaret Sanger, but when you mention her "views on race" it scares me... I am not a racist at all... I think racism is about a dumbest thing someone can be. I've cut people out of my life that were friends for their crazy racist remarks.

I actually listen to Rush Limbaugh and Mark Levin quite regularly. Not because they are heroes of mine but I try to be as objective as possible and want to hear the other side of the story.

Having said that, his followers ignore the facts and believe the rhetoric they spew on the radio. They always bring up "death panels" and "Uncle Sam stopping me from eating McDonalds", etc...

I just wish objectivity was a goal for both conservatives and liberals.

it's baffling why so many African Americans voted overwhelmingly for Clinton over Sanders in my state. she's enormously hypocritical about their interests - but Sanders has consistently, strongly, vocally supported them for his entire political career, going out of his way to do so, so much that he's even been to jail for protesting for their rights.

it's ignorance. ignorance and lying propaganda calling him a "unelectable communist" -- i can't understand it any other way. the only way Sanders could be a better choice to represent African American interests is if he was black himself!

It isn't a fact and there is plenty of evidence that says otherwise. By aborting a baby it is literally killing a human being....and that is a fact.

Being pro-abortion is not pro-choice, because the pro-abortion supporters never give any other choices besides abortion. Sanders isn't as great as the youth think he is, but that's okay, he ain't gonna win anyways.

So something nice to say about Comrade Bernie? He got some of the youth interested in politics which is cool, and then he has no hope of winning so we don't gotta worry about him too much.

Sorry, I feel like this is a big misunderstanding. I'm not trying to "teach" anything.. In fact, you guys all keep trying to fight with me about abortion, and I've said repeatedly that I'm generally AGAINST abortion, unless it's deemed necessary.... I listed my main reason why it would be necessary, and that was if the baby is missing some important organ and will inevitably suffer and die within minutes or hours of birth. I don't think that is fair to the baby or to the parents. If it were up to me, nothing would ever EVER get aborted. And that's frankly all I have to say about the matter.

but in my mind, like i said earlier, abortion as a touchstone issue is a lost cause.

the only perfect candidate is Christ, and He's not running -- He's already king
i've got to be prepared to forgive and compromise if i'm going to support any human for president. so even with him being pro-choice, it's really clear to me that out of the 3 or 4 candidates that stand a chance to be actually win, he far outstrips the others in terms of who i think would be the best leader of the country.
