Other than pray for them, I don't see much else I can do about it. I can't hold a gun to their heads and demand that they stop being gay
We cant have a blase attitude. We need to share the gospel in love. To say "well a lot of things are sin" is a cop out. Jesus disciples weren't perfect or sinless, that did not stop them from preaching the gospel.

I know the Bible says homosexuality is wrong but the Bible also says lots of other things are wrong. I feel like people spend a disproportionate amount of time obsessing over this one sin. I will be kind to them and pray for them. Maybe they will change or maybe they will not. . That's between them and God
It's no surprise to either of us that I don't often agree with you on much, but on this issue, I think we are in 100% agreement.

A 400 lb. hateful glutton who gossips about everyone, backstabs his 'friends', lies on his tax form, and still won't forgive his sister for some disagreement they had way back in High School, (all of which the Bible finds 'wrong') has no problem feeling he has a "right" to condemn, to Hell, someone who experiences the protective sweetness of warmth and love for someone of their own gender. That just doesn't sound like trying to emulate Jesus to me.

It has become so wide spread and in your face that it is being perceived as "acceptable" and "normal". I have seen what it has done to society and the masses. The world will be cleansed of it and all other abominable creations.

It is in God's hands. He is the authority.

Uh, what you seem to be talking about is NOT the Gospel. And the Gospel is what we were told to share, not critical scrutiny of others and condemnation.

And THAT is the part of this whole mess that we don't seem to be willing to accept.

It's easier to look at others sins then to examine your own...and God doesn't owe anyone anything, much less an apology.
Condoning one sin to forgive yourself of your own is wrong.

"Abominable creations" only person I know who creates life is God.

God hates the sin, not the sinner. Too often people claiming to follow Jesus don't make the distinction.

Revelation 1:3

Blessed is the one who reads aloud the words of this prophecy, and blessed are those who hear it and take to heart what is written in it, because the time is near.

God created man and man created sin.

Condoning is always wrong but never have I heard such hateful talk to a gossiper or a glutton or one with outbursts of anger or people living together or divorcing without a good cause.
I once had a conversation about it on another American christian forum. One guy thought I was lesbian. Wow. The utter hate. No wonder they get mad and want their rights. Why are they never that hateful against christians in Holland?

Boy, do I wish I could convince people to read René Girard. I sometimes can't believe how accurately that man understood our underlying sickness.

The very same God who loves His creation hates the sin that has corrupted it.

God has said I would that you were either hot or cold but since you are lukewarm I will spew you out of My mouth.

I think we should start a thread condemning PRIDE. That's just as wrong... it's an abomination to God, as well.

"Well, I may not be perfect, but at least I'm not a HOMOSEXUAL..... THOSE people are on an express train to HELL, I tell ya!"

We shouldn't condone ANY sin, anymore than we should select a sin (that WE are not guilty of) and castigate those that are.

How about we SHOW them God's truth, instead of shoving it in their face?

And this is where most Christians have it twisted. I don't have to approve or condone someone's lifestyle to still have compassion for them. I will love them and show them kindness as I am biblically instructed to do. I'm not going to go all Westboro Baptist on them as this will only push them further away

How eloquently put. Thank you for sharing this with us. I believe any of us with truth in our lives would admit the same.

The Lord knows my confession list very well.

I think that for the most part Christians having not committed the sin of homeosexuality is the reason it is picked on and so vehemently condemned. I have broached this subject before, how much noise Christendom makes compared to how little (nothing actually) Jesus said about it while He walked this world. The way I was treated by other so-called Christians for simply mentioning this fact in one thread was disgusting, as they lined up and fell all over themselves vilifying me. A few of them continued to slander and gossip about me long after I stopped participating in the thread. It is apparent they love their sin more than they love the Truth.

I agree with you .
God tells us to examine ourselves to see that we are IN THE FAITH. Sometimes it doesnt look like it. :(...Its not just pride but haughtiness. Proverbs 21:4
It is not so difficult to fall into that trap of being guilty of those two sins and God detests it.
We all(yes probably all) need to repent and ask God to teach us how to love as he does.

I wonder how many of us , in real honesty, know how to do that?

Unless I either just flat-out lie about it, or try to fool myself by posting a bunch of great-sounding Bible verses, I'm truly not all that sure I know how.

For instance, could you spend a few days around the Westboro Baptist mob, while they are spewing their hateful rhetoric at veteran's funerals, and really show them "love." I couldn't. (I've been there and done that with groups nowhere as nasty as them, and I came away maybe feeling sorry for them... but also disgust. Certainly not "love.")
