So, who are your favorite fictional characters/historical figures, or what are the characters that you've always wanted to meet? This was touched on in another thread, and it seemed like a really cool idea for a thread of its own :)

I'd love to meet Captain America, because he seems to be an amazing and understanding person.

From the books I'm currently reading: Mr. Darcy (Pride and Prejudice) because I really strongly relate to him - I feel like he describes me... And Tulkas (The Silmarillion), just because he is awesome. "...Tulkas laughs ever, in sport or in war, and even in the face of Melkor he laughed in battles before the Elves were born". I guess you could say I'm like Mr. Darcy and trying to be more like Tulkas... :)

Have to mention LOTR - Gandalf is probably my favourite there.

Favourite real life historical figures: St. Catherine of Siena, St. Francis of Assisi, St. Jean Vianney, JRR Tolkien, CS Lewis, St. Patrick, King David, John the Baptist, Jonah, Job.... okay I need to stop now.

:)

Ohhh, yes yes. ALL those that people have mentioned so far! lol

Also, Faramir son of Denethor, Legolas Greenleaf (From the Lord of the Rings BOOKS!)
Some random kids by the names of Anders, Kate, and Erik from a series called The Northwoods
Edmund Bertram from Mansfield park...and the list goes on :)

I'm still trying to narrow the historical figures down to a reasonable number to type out. :D

Discounting various Biblical figures...

I'd like to meet Winston Churchill, Corrie Ten Boom, Madame Guyon (or maybe not meet her? Maybe just observe her. I don't know...), Mark Twain... and I'll pause it right there because in a minute I'll start listing people who are off the wall because I think they would be fascinating psychological studies xD

And I'm going to assume that a lot of you can guess my fictional character list.

Like CT said, or implied, a good bunch of the people in the bible. I like to have a long conversation with Mohammad, to study him, to get a better feel of what spirit prompted him, although I think it is evident, to me at least. Abraham Lincoln. Constantine. Marlon Brando. Harry Truman. Shakespeare. Maimonides.

I thought about Hitler, but I think most would in that vein. Alexander the great. Ceaser. Cleopatra.

Paddington
Eeyore
Kanga and Roo
Mr. Owl
Ayla (The Earths Children series, although she might drive me nuts quickly because she's too perfect)
Professor McGonagall
Definitely Hagrid
Dobey and Kreatur
Molly Weasley is my kind of woman
Katniss but only after it was over.
Mrs. Peregrine
Tom Sawyer, but only if I can go back to being his age when I met him.
Wilbur and Charlotte (although Charlotte would break my heart)
And I wouldn't mind spending a month with the Ghetto Cowboys, but only if I was healthy enough to do help.

Historic?
Winston Churchill but only when he wasn't drunk.
Janis Joplin
Yogi Berra
Paul. Definitely Paul. (What is your thorn, bro?)
Joshua.
Noah.

And still living --
Bob Dylan
Robert A. MacDonald

Mine would be Jesus simply because I love Him . Queen Vashti to ask why she really defied the King..( the book of Esther). Lapidoth to ask what he really thought of his wife being a judge( Judges 4.) And of course King Solomon so that I could borrow a couple million dollars and find out if he ever married the chick in the Song of Songs... David just to hear him play his harp.. And I'd like to meet Amnon to go off on him for what he did to his sister Tamar I believe that's in 1or 2nd Samuel 13... Eve because she owes woman kind everywhere an opology..and Adam (shaking my head while rolling my eyes) fictional charectors?? Rhett Butler (Gone with the wind )cause he scatters my acorns.seems like a fun dude to pal around with except for the drinking and his other vices of course....
