Regarding this phrase " … once saved, always saved" is never explained in reasonable English self thinking but instead we get dozens of biblical quotes, word salads, loose associations etc.

Now we have a discussion about hating your brother, sister or cousin and whether it's sinful, jeopardizing one's salvation or a believer can never hate some one.

Well if I go by the phrase…"once saved, always saved" good grief, why worry about whom you hate, despise, love etc?

You are saved…ain't cha?

The beautiful thing is we do not worry about hating people because we have the Holy Spirit working in us each day to transform our minds so that we do not want to hate anyone.

Hating someone goes against all that Jesus did FOR us and put IN us. (By grace through faith is how we live as believers). He loved us while we were yet sinners and He has given us His love for others to grow up in.

We love Him because He first loved us. The love we have for others is not generated from our human nature. It is part of our new nature IN Christ. It's a beautiful thing to be co laborers with Christ.

Like the verse just posted Phil. 2:13. (I'm convinced more and more some people just don't read the posts)

The saint who rests in Christ and in His finished work is the will of God and what appears to be his free choices are actually God's will for him. It's loving God because you know His love for you, doing what is inside of you under His influence. Phil 2:13 - for it is God who is at work in you, both to will and to do.

Again., this is a beautiful truth all believers should get to know. He is actually changing us and renewing our minds as we read His Word and allow the Holy Spirit to give us revelation. Not only are we able to be joyful in whatever state we are in, but it is Him who does this and what we do is receive more about the truth of our salvation and learn to walk it out. And the amazing truth too is God gets all the glory and all the credit for this change that takes place in us. It always comes back to Jesus.

We are given more and more revelation of His love for and in us every day. That causes us to draw closer to Him as we learn yet (again) and in a newer way how much He loves us. Co laborers with Him., like the song says;,

"He walks with me and He talks with me, and He tells me I am His own., and the joy we share as we tarry there., none other... has ever known..."

If you are the Messiah, tell us plainly.”
Jesus answered, “I did tell you, but you do not believe."
John 10:24-25

My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me.
John 10:27

Glory be to God? Are you a sheep? Do you want to follow Jesus?

I do not care if you want to say I have got it wrong, that his bit of belief is wrong, or I need to say this or do that. I am a sheep, Jesus called me, I listen to Him and follow.

I have been saved from the beginning of time, because the Lord foreknew me. And yes I cannot be snatched out of His hand, because I am what I am.

Yes some will come and say this or that, some will distract, lie, cheat, run after everything they find. It really does not matter. Jesus and the apostles are simply saying by walking in His ways you show your calling, what you have become. We cannot save ourselves, we can only walk in the path, and the Lord does the rest.

Jesus says something just to encourage His sheep. If His words bring you joy, make you laugh and sing, you know the Lord of all. Jesus was saying to His enemies, you are my enemies because you were not called, else you would be my followers. It is difficult to get the concept right. It does not matter because it does not change anything, it just encourages His people.

If righteousness and purity, love pure and holy is the song within your heart, amen and welcome brothers and sisters. This is the foundation of the Kingdom of Heaven. Thankyou all for helping me see what the issues are of the heart and soul verses pure head knowledge. Jesus is saying when He came into the world, and He saw people turn to Him, He knew the Lord had called them. So when we preach and share and others respond, the Lord is calling them, through our words. I cannot change your views because that is not my role, just to encourage His people and help His sheep.

John 10:

24
Then came the Jews round about him, and said unto him, How long dost thou make us to doubt? If thou be the Christ, tell us plainly.

25 Jesus answered them, I told you, and ye believed not: the works that I do in my Father's name, they bear witness of me.
26 But ye believe not, because ye are not of my sheep, as I said unto you.
27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:
28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.
29 My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand.

If anyone wants to do [GOD's] will, he will know about my teaching, whether it is from God or I am speaking from myself. John 7:17

It is written in the prophets, ‘And they will all be taught by God.’ Everyone who hears from the Father and learns comes to me. John 6:45

It sure sounds alot like Peter and HRFTD believe in eternal security, from what they just posted.

If only they believes what they posted. They would!

The problem with EG is he believes believing in eternal security matters, it does not and never has done.

Do you know your mum and dad are your mum and dad? As a baby do you say, my mum and dad have to prove to me they are worthy of my trust in them? No. Likewise when we walk with Christ he puts within us the deposite of love and faith.

The problem these people are trying to solve but not solving it, is why do they behave in a way that does not align with their reading and understanding of Jesus? This is what drove monks to walk a hard asthetic road, or nuns to go into convents, of people to aspire to being something different than they are, because they are aware they are not what they think they are.

Jesus's simple answer is behaviour change by obedience. Learning not to rely on your own understanding but to do what you are called to do. Primarily this is love and forgive. Now this is neither simple or straightforward, it takes time to even understand what love and forgiveness are, and how they find expression in your heart and soul. It makes you into somebody different, it changes everything about you, and takes you from the world of sin into the world of heaven.

The problem of the hyper grace camp is they believe they are fine where they are, and change the power of transformation into staying put, and putting the responsibility on God to make the changes. The problem is God has already told us, obey, repent, set a course that is different, sow different behaviour and understanding and become what you are called to be.

If you are a sheep you know these words are true, because it is the sermon on the mount, it is the apostles preaching, it is leaving the world and its passions and clothing yourselves with the power of heaven. But it is also a choice, as big as getting up in the morning and going to work.

Yeah Peter it does. It is the foundation of the gospel of Christ, Eternal life in him. His sheep here his voice and they come after him, Thats why they are secure IN CHRIST..

One day soon you will find out that is true, I just pray it is not too late when the light goes on.

Eternal security is an extremely important doctrine for a babe in Christ to understand. Satan knows we are safe in him, but he never stops propagating condemnation to believers!

"Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's elect? It is God that justifieth. Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us." Rom 8:33-34

What are you talking about? Satan knows we are safe in him...condemnation to believers?

What on earth does this have to do with the OP or with my comment to those who would derail this thread for their own purposes?

Grace, 777—-

Pride is Satan's favorite sin———
True, to boast about one's good works is a source of pride and to boast about one's faith, devotion, love is also a source of pride………The Phraisees on the public corner worked both sides.

I agree...that's why it is good to understand Ephesians 2 and 1 Cor 1. We should be boasting in what our Lord Jesus did for us! He is mighty to save!

Ephesians 2:8-10 (NASB)
[SUP]8 [/SUP] For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God;
[SUP]9 [/SUP] not as a result of works, so that no one may boast.
[SUP]10 [/SUP] For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them.

1 Corinthians 1:30-31 (NASB)

[SUP]30 [/SUP] But by His doing you are in Christ Jesus, who became to us wisdom from God, and righteousness and sanctification, and redemption,

[SUP]31 [/SUP] so that, just as it is written, "LET HIM WHO BOASTS, BOAST IN THE LORD."

Ladylynn,

I worry about every sin I commit because I know I have offended Christ who stands before me, arms akimbo. "Mikpat when in my Name will you learn?"

"Ohh Lord, I try, I try……….but don't punch me in the face."

Ladylynn,

The question of boasting rests on pride, is it in the Lord or in one's self? Many post on these boards pouring out biblical phrases but it appears more like babble and think they will be heard because of the quantity. Also, human behavior in self-serving prayer can cover up temporarily, feelings of guilt etc.

A cliche' but true, "words without love and honesty, to heaven never go."

No, I'm not. I was simply seeking clarification of this response to my post.

...I sure HOPE that's what he meant!

Oh, good. I was confused, now I'm not!

Actually this is more than clarification this is accusation ... "derailing this thread for their own purposes" ... and this is the third time you bring this up. Roaring is a wonderful witness for the Gospel ... and many of the brethren are doing a wonderful job here helping the new-born in Christ.
