I guess I got off easy on my punishment although having my daughter was a little painful but well worth the pain as she is a wonderful daughter.

Forgive me if you heard me tell this before, but my marriage was very volatile for the 1st dozen yrs or so. We had some very nasty, hurtful verbal arguments. If I chose to pick a few to relate to you, you might say "yeah Ed, you were in the right".
I have come to realize, after praying to the Lord, (should have been my 1st step waaay before) that the problem with our relationship was ME NOT HER. Right or wrong was irrelavent on a particular issue.
The question was, was I loving my wife in the way that the Lord wanted me to, and clearly I wasn't. Also, any faults she may have the LORD will deal with NOT me.
I can tell you that our marriage, and love for each other has gotten stronger each passing day The thought of submission NEVER enters the equation. Men, do YOUR part. Let the Lord work on your wives part.

You know, anytime I attempt to break my jadedness about marriage i get stopped by the thought of a woman giving up her current life to be with a man and starting over...(disclaimer, I am divorced so it would be a remarriage for me) To me, it almost seems kinda wrong lol The more I think about marriage, the more impractical it seems for me. I have already had children. At this point, I don't see the need for marriage. In Ephesians 5, it talks about the basis for a biblical family and how to raise your kids up properly in Christ. If I remarry, this woman would not be their mother. It would already not be a true representation of what Christ intended the family to be. It almost answers the question if someone should re-marry after divorce....

If they're a lot with their mother it doesn't have to matter. My ex's new wife, no problem at all, if they want to hang out together I take care of the kids. She just helps him, so there are no problems with raising them. They raise them how he wants. Her kids are grown up.
But for me to remarry, all of a sudden my kids and I get a new set of rules totally opposite to the rules of their dad maybe, way too complicated. That's not gonna work. I told one guy who was interested: be smart and find one without an ex and kids. If my ex moves you can quit your job and move too and follow my ex lol.
What's comical is all you had to do was say the above the first time around and everything would have been cleared and settled from the get go, but sadly your pride got in the way, and that is not comical.

It's not an arbitrary punishment. It's a curse -- a dysfunctional pattern set in motion by their dysfunctional actions. It goes along with the striving and the death and the general warfare between humanity and satan, that God talked about at that time.
This curse which started with the first adam was ended by the 2nd adam. The 'punishment' as you call it was ended with Christ. Maybe you need to forgive some women if they hurt you and see them through Christ.
With that said men are still meant to lead women. But not rule over them. And women are meant to support and help men... but not be their slaves. Men leading does not make them better than women, and women being led does not make them worse than men. It's something we go through on earth, in heaven I doubt our earthly gender will have a bearing on our authority. But on earth we all have to humble ourselves under something and we all have to step up and take responsibility and authority over something. But in both positions we are serving, or we do not succeed in the position.
Gender teaches us about this, but in that context, it all has to be consensual from a willing heart, relational, or it harms the family. As I heard it preached once, how can you tell the wife to submit if you aren't giving her something Christlike to submit to? And does Christ get us to accept him as Lord by demanding it from us? Or does Christ lead us to repentance with kindness? Who would have a problem submitting to someone who clearly loves them enough to give their life for them?
Even so some women have spiritually led their husbands by being more Christlike and by submitting in obedience to God even when the husband wasn't Christlike. Serving is definitely more powerful than the world will lead us to believe. We all need to lay aside bitterness and hurt in order to be able to love and serve this way.

The punishment was twofold and attributed as sin to the husband from where the wife came as his equal.
Women in regard to the flesh as that seen in a spiritual way have a greater responsibility seeing they represent the whole church, as the bride of Christ.and natural man does walk or understand after that seen.
Men represent that not seen in a spiritual way, the husband Christ. Together they are used to show the world what the bride of Christ (Christians) represents in respect to the gospel of Christ.
In that way the woman submits to her husband as the bride of Christ, the church submits to God. This is in a spiritual way revealed by the faith that comes through the scriptures. There are no male an females as new creatures but we are one in Christ, as to the form we will be no one knows other than we will be like the angels with no way to reproduce. . .
I would suggest that the Genesis account in that way shows the spiritual order .The suffering that both the male and female believers working together as one are used when we offer the gospel to the world in a hope that they also in spiritual way would be members as his bride. She is made up of many lively stones that makes up the spiritual body of Christ the church.
She is spoken of a chaste virgin as those who do not fornicate with false gods , by violating the first commandment. We as a whole surffer as in birth pains until Christ is formed in us or others.
We can see that I believe according to the language of the scriptures.

As Husbands speaking personally we need to step it up and support our wives .And together to show the world outwardly the work of God that he works in us to both will and do his good pleasure. This is so that even though we are given in a sense authority of over them being yoked to them will made the total load less to bear.
I fail and need prayer as it seems the direction of this country is going. Men need to step it up or God will send the Deborah’s (meaning Bee) to sting us men (ouch) in a hope of us waking up in doing more support in our yoke with them.

Crystal clear huh? Are you not assuming that it is to start a fight? Instead of giving me the benefit of the doubt you automatically assume the worst, that i am wanting to start a fight. When the TRUTH is i am seriously asking when did this generation decide the punishment is over, or if it is written somewhere in the Word that it is over.
What is obvious is if anyone really does want to know the answer to the question presented, that there will be those who will automatically assume the worst and think it was done in a negative way to cause fighting and the such. How is that my fault if they assume wrong?

Agreed. Many take OUT all the parts that God had established for women from Adam and Eve. Many take OUT all the parts how a husband is treat his wife as well.

This is True, but has nothing to do with the topic at hand. He becoming a curse for us, does not negate the Word of God, it does not negate how women are to treat their husband nor does it negate how husbands are to treat their wives. God set up order from the beginning. My Boss at work is no better than i am, but i know he is my Boss and i do what He tells me to do? Does that make me a slave? Heavens no. Does that make me less than my Boss? Heavens no. But he is my Boss and i do what he tells me to do. Strange we all obey our Bosses at work, but don't obey husbands at home, which God instructed to do. Willing do what our Boss tells us to do, and we are not Slaves. But if we obey husbands, then we are slaves and we can't have that.
Again the NEW WAY does not negate how husbands and wives are to treat each other. The NEW WAY does not negate the Word of God.

The difference between a boss - employer and a married couple relationship is ehm well everything. I obeyed. It was a very not equal weird relationship he also said later. I thought it was handy if a dad figure took care of me and he liked to give orders. It's not healthy and almost no guy wants that. They want an independant woman who can do her thing. You can't expect them to be micromanaged. If you want that, take someone who's much younger and not 100%. You can't have both. It's like saying: I want a guy to micromanage me but he may not be bossy. That's impossible.

My favorite book was: Me? Obey him? from a baptist woman from the sixties, all about how you should obey your husband in anything except when he went against the Word, but even if he told her to have an abortion she had to stay humble and just pray. Lol she said always obey and God will just kill him if he's bad, like Nabal. Sweet.

Which is the outcome of either a Blessing or a punishment. Have you not read the Old Testament at all? God clearly said over and over again, if you do good and keep my commandments i will give you rain, etc.... If you do not keep my commandments i will not give you rain etc..... You can call it what you want, in order to justify your own thinking, but for thousands of years, it was considered a punishment. Leave it to the last days generation to take what was clearly a PUNISHMENT, and turn it into a statement of certain consequences. lol that seriously made me laugh out loud.

A part of her consequences of her disobedience was to have painful child birth. Has that ended? Did that cease at the cross? Or do women to this very day still suffer the consequences of Eve's disobedience? Another consequence that God ordained for the woman was that her husband shall rule over her. Has this consequence ended, and if so, please tell me what Scriptures teaches that that part of the consequences of Eve's disobedience has ended. Just wanting some Scriptural references to that part of the consequences ending, no longer applies.

i am celibate for over 9 years because i choose to be. But you are right, if i were to ever get married again, i would want a woman who her whole desire in life is to please only God, and a woman who obeys the Word of God in everything. And Because i live in America, i don't think she exists.
