How do you translate the biblical teaching of "moderation" in all things as representing "stupidity"?...that's a stupid argument! And God calls the wisdom of this world foolish..and the scriptures I posted are absolute truth...do you have a problem believing the bible? If so... you will find a lot of the things I say from the bible will sound silly to you.Stupidity in one's lifestyle is not the right extremeAnd to use brain in our heads is not to be "lukewarm".
Please, do not try at home.
Every false religious group in the world teaches "healthy eating" as a way to self preservation and some form of religious justification... Even Hitler was a health nut.... It has absolutely nothing to do with true Christianity.Wisdom is not Worldly Knowledge Knowledge is not Worldly Wisdom.

Again you seem ignorant of the bible and the word "moderation" ? what part of that word do you fail to grasp?Context of this thread is to eat rubbish with the idea "God will heal me anyway" - thats the stupid extreme, not the one we should live by.
The New Testament teaches moderation in all things. ...specifically food and makes absolute clear all "food" ...NOT poisonous plants should be blessed and eaten with thankfulness. The scriptures even teach a "real" believer could drink poison as an example of Gods supernatural protection. The wisdom you are putting forth here is simply mans wisdom...not the wisdom of God.
Sorry, but the Bible isn’t a diet book. Foods were clean or unclean under the old covenant because God had said so, not because there was anything inherently clean or unclean in the food itself. There have been all kinds of attempts to explain why those are “dietary rules’ for all eternity and for all people, when the reality is that they were restrictions used by God for the specific purpose of keeping the Jewish nation separate from all around them.

No..absolutely not...
Jesus never once said to someone coming to get healed - "No..can't heal you today as you have been eating MacDonalds."
( What I found funny is that all those that came to Jesus for healing - they were all on the Mediterranean diet..lol )
Jesus never said to anyone - "Can't heal you today because you have not exercised enough "
Jesus had healed sinners.
He was found to say (after the fact)
"Behold, thou art made whole: sin no more,
lest a worse thing come unto thee"
Now you as well look past the biblical standard of "moderation" I have mentioned time and again ? I'm not sure how you get gluttony out of moderation? That is the clear biblical standard and its simplicity and wisdom honors God. And no I DO NOT believe God has some perfect diet ..I believe He has a perfect object of our faith. But that is the point I am trying to make, Mitspa. Who determines what is food and what is not food? I suggest that God clarified that for man so that there would be no confusion over the matter. Otherwise, isn't man deciding what is considered food? Wouldn't that be considered man's wisdom then?
I'm sure you agree that picking up a deadly serpent on purpose because of what God said would be considered testing God, right? I think that scripture was for those that incidentally were poisoned in some way; not those that were intentionally poisoning themselves. You can't eat whatever you want whenever you want and then just believe God will not let you be overweight despite your gluttony, right?
You and I seem to see eye to eye most of the time... maybe not on this and that is OK. But don't you think it is at least a possibility that God gave man the perfect diet, despite the fact that man has created millions of them for himself?
I personally believe that God did that for man and that if people would turn to the scriptures instead of Nutri System or whatnot, they would find the results they are looking for.
Does any of that make sense at all?
Well my friend Tithing is not a New Testament command ..its a work of the law. If God is blessing you? Its has nothing to do with what percentage you give to some church.I guess another way of thinking about it is like this...
I personally did not know about tithing for a season or so when I first got saved. Did God bless me though? Sure he did. But he blessed me in other ways according to the measure of obedience I had towards the things that I DID know pleased him. For example, I was set free from drugs and alcohol and was certainly blessed in mind, body, and soul because of it.
However after I learned about tithing and became obedient to it as well, I became blessed in other ways that were in the same measure.
So, we don't place these things as burdensome rules. Just like they said to just start with telling new Christians not to eat food sacrificed to idols to start out as to not overwhelm them with a bunch of rules.
Instead we grow and learn and introduce them as solutions to things that God has covered. That when we trust in the things that he has said, we will be blessed because of our obedience to him.
I personally do not keep the diet all of the time simply because it is so difficult in the culture that we live. I don't fall under condemnation when I fail. But with the increased amount of effort to try, I have witness being blessed in my health, energy, focus, etc... I give the credit for this to God for having revealed that he created things this way; not to the food or my understanding. Frankly, a lot of it does not make sense to me. But I just have to trust that he knows what he is talking about.
Anyways, I really only share this for those that may be struggling to figure out which of the millions of diets that man has created. I think God outlined the one that is good for everyone.
