"Start talking about Jesus Christ"

“Preach the gospel at all times; if necessary, use words,” Saint Francis of Assisi is supposed to have said. The aphorism, often quoted, expresses a well-meaning viewpoint of many Christians today. They are concerned that we’ve been too loud, demanding and angry. Now, they say, we need to show the gospel by our lives. It’s a good sentiment, and I certainly agree that we need to demonstrate the gospel change in our lives by caring for others. But there are two problems with the Assisi quote. First, he never said it. Second, it’s really bad theology. You see, using that statement is a bit like saying, “Feed the hungry at all times; if necessary, use food.” For Christians, the gospel is good news ...

JUST PREACH JESUS
BORN AND CRUCIFIED
AND RISEN FROM THE DEAD

JUST PREACH JESUS
AS HE PAID FOR SIN
WITH THE PRECIOUS BLOOD
HE SHED

LORD AND SAVIOR
KING OF KINGS
SON OF GOD
AND SON OF MAN

JUST PREACH JESUS
UNTIL JESUS COMES AGAIN!

Well, as in most cases: black and white rarely works.

We need to preach and live what we preach.

I doubt some catholic knows much about the gospel? The gospel is not human charity ..its a demonstration that Jesus Christ sets upon the very Throne of God in power and grace.

sometimes people seem to forget they didn't 'invent' Christianity

it's free for whosoever will...some wonderful Catholic Christians

all 'Christians' are not the same and neither are all Catholics and we sure don't have the blessing of God to run other folks into the ground with a superior attitude (which is not godly anyhow anyway)

but I'm thinking you know that...

lol I do . Ive always been the person that rather goes to a catholic priest than a lutheran pastor. lol People forget what it meanst to be christian. Followers of Christ. I have not seen one denomination that didnt in some way have false teachings in them somewhere. Though I can say Catholics and Babtist are on top of that list I can also say that all denominations have gooda nd true christians and I know a lotta people dont like hearing that.
Jesus went to worse people than catholics... Heathans!! and they were a lil more dangous now werent they.

I guess that's why God has been expelled from public schools and abortion is rampant.

Highly debatable statement. Catholics are not encouraged to read their bible and when they do they must consult the church on how to understand it. Catholics and it has been demonstrated many times here on the forums do not know the bible and they do not receive sound biblical teaching from the church.

Catholics rely on the writings of their church fathers and the catechisms to understand their bibles. There is probably a million posts here on the forums about Catholicism and the apologetics offered by the catholic members who visit here.

It took only one person to take the Bibles out of schools. Madeline Murry O' Hare. It has been said that some of the last words in her diary were "Will someone somewhere please love me?"

Well the Lutheran pastor and the Catholic priest have somewhat the same view. Evangelicals have the closest understanding of the full gospel. Catholics have several dangerous teachings that are not Biblical.

All denominations have unbiblical teachings. babtists with the 'once your babtised you can sin al you want and go to heaven' teaching is just as dangerous. and no i dont have naything against babtists especially as I have two babtist pastors in the family.
Evangelical, charismatic and Pentecostals have the closest understanding in my opinion.
I really dont wanna go deeper on this lol

The problem though, my sister, is that other religions are conveniently welcomed, but Jesus is not. That's why I say its time to start kicking some tail and taking no prisoners. I'm tired of all the anti-Christs running around getting their way when it comes to shutting out the Kingdom. When I say the hell with them, I literally mean it.

How in the world did this thread end up in such a debate? Wow! :) Talk about OFF THE RAILS......

Especially in light of this excerpt from the Article............did y'all read it? :)

Even in our multi-faith environment, this calling should not be offensive to those of other faiths or no faith at all. Evangelism does not mean coercion. We can and should respect each other and strive for tolerance across varying beliefs, but that does not require pretending those differences do not exist. One of the core beliefs of Christianity is that Christianity should be propagated.
