but I'll happily discuss any passage with anyone who will both discuss in a respectful fashion and is willing to pay attention to what the vast majority of greek scholars have to say.
Actions speak louder than your words, Dan...

Show us the exegesis of one of your trusted Greek scholars, as applied directly to 1 Peter 5.8.
I have already discussed my exegesis of the passage.

I don't know the exact process by which the greek specialists arrived at their translation of this passage, I assume it was something similar to mine. (though no doubt much more skilled.)

if you want to go with an approach different from the vast majority of scholarship, of course that's up to you.

Peace, Man!

The question posed to you, was to show us an exegesis from one of your trusted Greek scholars on the verse.

Then show us one of your trusted scholars' exegesis...

So...when Jesus quoted the Hebrew, in Greek, was it divinely inspired, or just His human nature?
I believe He (or the human writer of the gospel passage) was divinely inspired to either translate the passage or quote from the lxx.

but, the english translations of today aren't translated by Jesus, but by other humans. so, every word they choose is artificial, in the sense that it is chosen/placed by a human.

To the average person, the above attributes are obvious and easy to understand from the scripture.

If you get the premise wrong, then your inference will likewise be incorrect, brother.

For some reason, you think that a mere angel can expel Satan from Heaven.

For some reason, you think that a mere angel can bind Satan and cast him into the abyss.

Look to the obvious...Jesus cast Satan from Heaven....Jesus cast Satan into the abyss...just as scripture tells us.

Give credit to your God!

This is not a Trinity thread....there are numerous others for that topic...

correct and his statement"anyone who will discuss in a respectful fashion.

is it respectful to call him names?

yes, indeed actions speak louder than words... and yours are screaming

"
I am right, I am more educated, I am the one with the proper interpretation, I have the understanding"

reminds me of one who said "I will... I will...I will..I will...I will..."

So, then the LXX was divinely inspired?

You keep digging your hole deeper...

My job in this thread is not to convince you of The Trinity, that you deny.

I don't deny the trinity. So you put words in my mouth, theres another name for that.....
