I personally have started a number of just those kinds of threads

and you know what?

they fade

seems people prefer to lob grenades

so, put another notch in the ole belt (meaning everyone)...or gird up the loins LOL!


PARTICIPATION and either reporting or ignoring the flamers when they try to derail, because if they are ignored in the threads they start, they will come alooking for us in the good threads

that's happened too

I'm 100% all for good Bible discussion..one of my very favorite things :eek:

Debate is good. As long as we discuss what we are a group believe about a passage.

It is when we start saying this is what others believes.. that gets things heated..because then they just start looking like vendetta against a group of people.

If we are truly sick of it, everyone needs to start reporting, not just the same few.. Otherwise, it can be seen as an EG/Lauren against another group. We have to stand firm.. everyone say they are sick of it..

Since I see this thread is on this subject, I will interject what I think is an excellent example of how to respond. I wrote a post and "Stunned By Grace" doesn't understand - so he/she? :) writes back and in a very clear way asks for further clarification. Too many times I (maybe others too? :) assume I know what others mean by phrases or words, when they may mean something much different.:

I believe it is impossible to sin outwardly without having first sinned inwardly. It is what comes from inside of us that defiles us.
If the inside of the cup is clean, the outside just will be as well.

When you say "take your eyes off Jesus", what do you mean?

even if we disagree, as long as we do this, and not assume when know what another thinks, Or can at least be humble enough to admit we erred if the person we misunderstood shows us,, Things would be so much better..

right. ask questions instead of assuming and providing evidence for the first three letters of that word

seriously tho, that is the way to respond...not you are stupid, you don't know what you are talking about, you have pink hair and no fashion sense etc
