You boys are cracking me up this morning lol.

I miss WINTER ;) so much... Can't wait till I get to wear jeans all the time and bum around in my hoodie and sweat pants!

I most certainly am not a prissy girl... I can't handle that crap anyways lol.

Cleaning Is what I normally do Saturday mornings... And Sunday is usually grocery shopping day... But with the high of 100 for Saturday... I might have to knock out 2 things with one stone this weekend. And officially make Sunday's my resting day. :)

I am a cracker purist. love my crackers...often have them instead of bread with cheese

I have at least 6 different kinds around most of the time and my husband loves them too

I would try another brand. hate them stale crackers but the dogs don't mind them. birds are good to go too

I see where you state you have tried other brands...maybe a different store?

My mom complains about stale crackers also. She only buys Zesta now.

But learning to have patience like that... Over night.. Wow!! What a testimony that would be! Lol

And having to learn this... The hard way, hasn't been easy for Littlebit. Especially when it takes me a Littlebit of time to understand things more :p

i've been listening to a lot of sermons over the last month by a certain preacher, Voddie Bauchman. he talks sometimes about how a problem that a lot of Christians have, that is what he calls having an "over-realized eschatology"

here's what he means by that: eschatology is study about 'end-times' things, and about what will happen after the last day. one of the things that will happen after Christ comes and reconciles all things to Himself, is that we will be changed; our flesh will be redeemed and we will be fully conformed to His image. the work He began in us will be complete: we will be changed, in the twinkling of an eye, and be like Him -- what it is we will be, we don't know - it isn't yet revealed - but we have an 'inkling' of what will go on in that 'twinkling' and sometimes we act like we expect that to happen right now.

we get down on ourselves because our sin nature is not completely removed - but that won't happen until our flesh is redeemed. we expect to have full knowledge and full wisdom and full patience and every spiritual power -- to be literally Christ on earth sometimes, and find out that we're not, that we still struggle, that we still fail, that we still desire to do and to be things that we find ourselves unable to do, and from this we can begin to doubt. Satan tells us 'are you really saved?' and points at all the failure in us to live up to the perfect standard of Christ -- and he's pointing at the flesh, not at the person who has been reborn and who desires to do good and who hungers and thirsts after righteousness. he's pointing at the part of us who is crucified, and sometimes we still identify ourselves with that.

that's 'over-realizing' our eschatology, brother Voddie says. that's thinking the things that will be fully accomplished after the end of days should be accomplished now. expecting the end-times to be realized in this time: that heaven is "now"

i think if you grab hold of what he's saying here, and understand the truth of this, that you'll be able to more patiently 'wait for patience to be worked in you' :)

i hope this helps. it made a big impression on me, hearing him teach about this -- so i am really thankful to God that He's giving me right now an opportunity to pass it along!!

another thing Voddie said that is kind of related to this, is that if you're "living your best life now" then you must be going to hell. because that's the only way that the life you live on earth could be better than what life will be in eternity!

we're going to be made one with Christ and fully know Him, and the Father forever, dwelling in His presence in all of His glory! and we're going to be completely transformed, flesh and all, to be as He is, to commune with Him. so if you think your best life is now . . wow, either you really don't understand the sure hope of the gospel, or you're on your way to hell.

LOL! what a burn on that guy who preaches this "best life now" name-it-claim-it gospel!

I can honestly say...

I don't think I have ever seen or read you be so excited about something.

This must've changed your life... And I know the more I get into my bible and reading the better I will be at being patient about life. It's just the stuff that women go through that I want my turn to experience it... But like I said...

Im being patient about everything and not wanting to rush things.

It's all in HIS timing... Not my own. :)

if they are "unsalted" how in the world can they still call them "saltines" ????

Various versions of unleavened dry crackers known as hardtack have been around for thousands of years. The generally thick hardtack cracker was extremely long-lasting, but bland and difficult to eat. In 1876, F. L. Sommer & Company of St. Joseph, Missouri started using baking soda to leaven its wafer thin cracker. Initially called the Premium Soda Cracker and later "Saltines" because of the baking salt component, the invention quickly became popular and Sommer's business quadrupled within four years. That company merged with other companies to form American Biscuit Company in 1890 and then after further mergers became part of Nabisco in 1898. from Wiki :D

I try other brands often. Store Brands as well as other Name Brands. It doesn't seem to matter. I think folks here on the mountain just don't eat crackers. It's pretty much either Biskits or Cornbread for them, with the occasional slice of white bread. I really think that's why the crackers are always stale. That, and the fact that the Salesperson won't change them out on a regular basis.

Anyway.............I will pick up a box of those Nabisco Butter thingy crackers that come in a roll. They are good with cheese, but they just aren't Saltines. .......sigh......

One store I visit occasionally with my daughter seems to always have product on the shelves that is mere days away from the best before date :p I won't buy it when it has been sitting for weeks like that :(

maybe it's like a family name?

like genus saltiss or something?

triscuits are super crunchy aren't they? I'm a nut for crunchy...even my fruit has to be crisp. it works out cause my husband prefers the non-crunchy fruit...not kidding...I even prefer bananas with a little green...don't know why

right now, I'm favoring 'water crackers', imported from Chile and something called CLUB Supreme...you know that those are not featured in exclusive restaurants with that name...but both are super crunchy...the supreme ones have a vegetable taste that I really like and they are all wrapped in individual little packages of 6 so they keep extra fresh

currently buy them at the Dollarama in town...don't know if available in the US?
