I'm watching Trump speak on Fox News right now and he said he was always against the invasion of Iraq. I want to give an opportunity for his supporters to defend him in a substantive discussion without bringing Hillary Clinton, Bill Clinton, or even George Bush into the discussion.

Fast-forward to 1:42. Howard Stern asks Trump, "Are you for invading Iraq?". Trumps response is, "Yeah, I guess so."

Did this radio conversation really happen? Was it edited by the Clintons, Russia, Ted Cruz, BLM, LGBTQ, Mexicans, Martians, or Lee Harvey Oswald? Was his statement out of context or did Trump directly answer Howard Sterns question of "Are you for invading Iraq"?

He could have been against the invasion and lied on the Howard Stern show.

So either way he is lying... we know that much, correct?

He either lied to Howard Stern then, or he's lying now that he was always against it.

A question of curiosity though: Why would he lie to Howard Stern about being for it? What would he have to gain by lying?

Ok, here's the problem with trump, and yes Kim, I do believe you caught him in a lie, but the problem with trump is that he doesn't focus on what he's about to say. He just says things off the top of his head. At the time he made that statement he believed that he was never for the invasion of iraq... but if he focused and tried to remember if he ever did say that he was for it, then he would have said at one point he was..

I find that's actually pretty typical of older men. I mean unless they're a politician or speaking about something very critical they just say stuff off the top of their heads even if it's not completely accurate. Anyway... he is obviously against being in iraq now, so that's the important thing to know.

but yes, trump needs to really start watching what he says because he's just ruining his own campaign.

I was just giving a third option. I listened to him talking to stern and he didn't sound like he believed what he was saying back then. So maybe he was always against the invasion but said he was for it.

You make a point, but it is sort of debunked by the fact that the media (even FOX News who is kinder to him than others) reminded Trump that he really wasn't against it from the beginning and that there is documented evidence to show otherwise. He refuses to own up to it which proves it isn't out of ignorance he truly feels he was never for it, but that is Trump's M.O., be passionate about a lie and more people will believe it.

Trump is a man who wants to see what way the wind blows before he says anything...just ask him a leading question and he is all yours...

He said yes,I guess so.

Trump supporters seem to want to speak for him as though anything he says, can be changed to"thats not what he meant".

His supporters seem to think the American people will believe anything, but we're not so ignorant that we believe nonsense.

I'm hardly a Trump supporter, but I'm surprised there aren't more responses in this thread considering the number of Trump supporters in the news forum.

I'm curious how they will explain and rationalize this if they can't bring up Hillary Clinton to deflect some of the heat.

I think if you guys will give an honest listen (Can you do that?) he was clear that he was against the way it was done. What that means, no one can tell from such an edited tape. Who knows why the whole conversation wasn't posted? That might have cleared up a few things.

If you will notice....... everything up to 1:33 is fast forwarded out. They might have been discussing the pros and cons of the whole thing prior to that edited clip, possibly telling us an entirely different story.

I think I understand what you are saying,If Hillary lies, thats bad but If Donald lies, there must be an innocent reason that he lied.:(

Thats why he Is too dangerous, compliment him and narcissism emerges to the surface clouding mature balanced judgement.

Kinda ironic...Trump is losing his mind, and Hillary is losing her health.

Trump supporters seem to be blind to the things Trump does and sees the things he does as Insignificant and excusable but the things Hillary does, will be noticed,Insignificant or not.

And when asked a question they can't handle, they Immediately deflect.

It is a very interesting phenomenon. Donald has been given a carte blanche to be lyin', but other politicians lyin' are ludicrous people...that's not just common deflection, it is a full blown denial.

Yea there's no way to defend this....he flip flopped after the chaos in iraq over the past 13 years....that war was a sham from beginning to end..... he lied plain and simple, I have no problem admitting that...as a half-hearted trump supporter (the other half I don't agree with like his lgbt views).... :)
