Ummm, is there another choice but the radio? My car is 1995. Our CD player died five years ago. But, we do have a MP3 player that goes into the cigarette lighter.
BTW, do new cars have cigarette lighters?

I sure woulda loved seeing him live in concert.
My boss handed me a compilation of Hank 3 recently. I didn't even know he existed. His band is amazing, kinda punk country totally unexpected.

In the truck, I listen to the radio exclusively. We have a decent "oldies" station, oldies being a relative term. It's music from the 60's through 90's. Sometimes it's good, sometimes not so much. I find it kind of funny that the music that was popular when I was in High School, I disliked intensely back then but really like now. I'm just weird.

She said 'those' commercials. He's an aging rocker that's decades past his prime. 15 years ago he had a small comeback but has mostly disappeared. Now he just comes across as an aged has been who has nothing better to do in his career than cheesy commercials. I didn't even recognize him when i first saw him in the commercial.

Rock n roll destroyed my life. But that was because I worshipped it I suppose.
I feel emptied now if I listen to it.
As a musician myself im interessted in its universal ability to pass directly into your soul.
I dont mean to be a gestapo but the abilty it has to snatch hearts away makes me sick.
My own wife where stolen from me by guy and his guitar. He send songs to her mail wich I listened to when I found out.
It burnt me up.
And behind the scenes this happens all the time even with christian music.
The heart is the most deceitful thing in the world the bible says.
No wonder the heart is so easily pierced by its vibrations.

Just have a hard time to reconcile the musicscene with my faith.

And in the end it gave me this new life.

I totally get it. Music appeals to our senses, which are largely of this world.
But music can also speak to our spirit. I love modern praise and worship!

I am a recovered addict but snow was never my d.o.c. (drug of choice) haha so I don't know. Zappa said not to eat the yellow stuff. That's all I know
Speaking of addiction and musicians, you know, a few years ago when Steve Tyler was a judge on American Idol, I was incredibly impressed with how dignified he was. Sometimes he was the only one not trying to hide his giggles when the auditioner was really bad; he just sat listening all stoic and being honest about what he heard without laughing at the person or insulting them in any way. Even the bad boys of rock can recover I wonder if he has a religious affiliation? I am a huge fan of the Moody Blues and I read something a while back about how at least one and possibly two of the members were Christian, a fact I had not know but had wondered about. I was glad to hear it

Just checking your year choice. Does Elton John fit pre or post great music? Billy Joel? Bruce Springsteen? Did you even know The Allman Brothers existed? The Band? (Not "his" band years. The Band years.) Bonnie Raitt? Rod Stewart post Little Faces? Jackson Browne? Solo Clapton? (vs. all his band-included years.) BeeGees, but only before their disco days, as if their disco days don't count? Are you aware you've skipped The Eagles? Did you stop liking Zep at Physical Graffiti? Fleetwood Mac in the Nicks/Buckingham days? The Doobie Brothers in the Michael McDonald years? Linda Ronstadt? Kenny Rogers?
And I didn't get into the good stuff -- DISCO! Disco began with Hues Corporation.

He's a Jersey boy, and a philanthropist, so he makes the news fairly regularly around here. I think of him as "that young guy." Since he hasn't caught up with me in age, he still is. lol
