70's thru 90's rock ROCKS!! Those are my favorite genres of music ...and muzak You have great taste in music, Huglife!

And I like Bon Jovi too! I lived in New Jersey when he was real popular and it seemed like every other persjion claimed to know someone who knew him or saw him somewhere.. (I just wished I could sing like him ) Do you know the song "Never Say Goodbye"? I'm like the only one who loves that song..

Do you know a band named Cinderella? They were big when Bon Jovi was popular. They're an old school metal hair band. I think they opened for Bon Jovi on one of their big tours... anyway my friends and I were eating at Dennys one night and the lead singer and bass player from Cinderella walked in. It was like 1am on a saturday night. They ordered a lot of stuff because the waiter kept coming back out to put more food on their table. We thought that was pretty cool hehe.

Wow those are all the bands me and my friends listened to! lol (except guns n roses..they came later in the 90's) How about Dokken, Motley Crue, Van Halen, Rush, Def Leppard, AC/DC, Aerosmith, Led Zeppelin...wow I can go on and on lol..

I like most of the British invasion, rock & Motown music from the 60’s.

I like lots of music from the 70’s ’s like Joe Walsh, Bruce Springsteen, Jimi Hendrix, Alice Cooper, Al Green, Peter Frampton, Fleetwood Mac, Jethro Tull, Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, Delfonics, Steely Dan, Bob Dylan, the Stones, Doobie Brothers, Diana Ross, Sly & the Family Stone, Kool & the Gang, Chicago, the Guess Who, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Grand Funk, the Grass Roots, Ides of March, Wings, Curtis Mayfield, Carly Simon, Roberta Flack, Gladys Knight, Jackson 5, the Who, Bread, Joni Mitchell, Earth Wind & Fire, Elton John, Temptations, Dr. Hook, and on & on. I wasn’t really into bubblegum pop or so-called heavy metal back then.

80’s was kinda iffy for me… I can name a few like Tears for Fears, INXS, the Police, Prince, Don Henley, Bruce Hornsby & the Range, Level 42, Janet Jackson, Billy Idol, GNR, Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, Sade, etc.

The 90’s were awesome! There ain’t enough space to list all the bands I love. Alternative rock, shoe gaze, punk, grunge, hip-hop, trip hop, rap, hard rock, nu metal, heavy metal, Britpop, neo soul, reggae, R&B, industrial, electronic, glam metal, etc. Almost everything except country & western and screamo metal.

Alternative rock is definitely my favorite. VAST, U2, Pearl Jam, Nirvana, Rage, POD, Radiohead, Godsmack, Default, Weezer, Chevelle, REM, Dave Matthews, DCTalk, Linkin Park, Our Lady Peace, Tool, System of a Down, Breaking Benjamin, August Burns Red, etc. ,etc.

I kinda lost touch with music after the 90’s were over. I mostly listen to new age classical or shoe gaze music streamed from the local college radio station now. Music to meditate by when I’m alone with God, which is a lot.

The album "Back in Black" by AC/DC was an extremely popular album! I actually had the 8-Track. lol It was released in the summer of 1980, just before I started 9th grade. Me and my friends listened to it a lot!

My son really likes the song, "Shoot to Thrill" from that album. He got hooked on that song after seeing the movie, "Iron Man."

I like AC/DC from the early days with Bon Scott. Brian Johnson's voice doesn't appeal to me. There are a few of the 2nd AC/DC iteration songs I like, but it's not the same. I feel the same about Metallica - once Cliff Burton died, it just wasn't the same. I know bands change members from time to time, but I'm particular about what I like and what seems to me to be an imitation.

AC/DC was one of my favorites. Dirty Deeds done dirt cheap, Highway To Hell, Back in Black... awesome songs!

When I first heard Geddy Lee's voice it was on Tom Sawyer and I was like whoa this guy sounds kind of demonic lol, but then I loved his voice on "Spirit of Radio", which I bought because the record stores were all sold out of Moving Pictures (has Tom Sawyer on it).. and I needed to hear this incredible drummer that other drummers were raving about (Neil Peart).. and he's still my favorite drummer.

Many years ago, I gave myself a very long break from listening to "classic rock," but certain songs are rather timeless in the sheer genius of their musicianship virtuosity, message, and delivery. I saw these guys (Blue Öyster Cult) live once, in a night that also included Nazareth, Uriah Heep, and, um, I was there but I can't remember who the fourth band was LOLOLOL (I looked up, though, and found out it was Wishbone Ash). One of the producers of this song just passed away very recently, July 26th.

I saw Blue Oyster Cult live too when they opened for Rush sometime in the 90's.. this was way before the SNL cowbell skit with Christopher Walken lol.
