If God's mind the world is reconciled to Himself because of what Christ did. We have the ministry of reconciliation to tell the people to receive this truth and believe in the Son.

If the fact that the world has been "set apart/sanctified" to God through the finished work of Christ and it is up to them to believe and receive this truth - if this offends your religious beliefs - so be it.

( This is what Hebrews 10:29 is really talking about and to reject Christ's sacrifice is to insult the Spirit of grace. )

God has given us the ministry of reconciliation NOT the ministry of condemnation like some here in CC "think is their ministry".

There will always be some sort of tension between those that believe we have eternal security in Christ and those that are not quite sure and then there are those way out there that think if you sin you are not born of God and are of the devil. Thank God that gospel/grace-less mindset is far from being common.

Being made holy is a process of purification that takes time, perfection is not reached in an instant by "self proclamation". Ceasing from sin and sinful thoughts is also a part of that purification process, which can only be done by the power of God's Spirit working in us.

2 Corinthians 7:1

So if I find that for a period of time in my life I am "not being made holy by Christ" - then I can know that I have not ever been made perfect by Christ (or thus - I can know that I was never really born again).

So, I can know that if for a time I am not being made holy by Christ, then I was never really a Christian to begin with.

Ouch! There goes my assurance of salvation! I am going to have to watch my works to make sure I keep being made holy!

When one spreads a false doctrine that is not based entirely on the good solid foundation of God’s Word of Truth, ( which is our Rock and Chief corner stone), then certain verses need be ignored or rejected entirely. In order for the lie to prosper the Truth must be misrepresented, twisted, and even flat out rejected in some cases. I have found there is one single misrepresentation, or false doctrine belief that causes so many of its followers to reject, misrepresent, twist, and even outright deny the very words of God and warnings in many parts of scripture in order to uphold this foundational error on which the whole of the false doctrine is built upon.


This one single misrepresentation of scripture that has caused so many persons to be led astray, and has also caused them to want to believe many more lies in order to prop up and uphold the original misrepresentation of scripture is this…… “All future sins are already forgiven no matter what one does.” This false doctrine belief is the cornerstone belief of Universalism, OSAS doctrine, and many of the false grace doctrines we see being widely accepted today. The simple reason why it is so widely accepted by the world is because the whole world lies in wickedness. And so the notion, and the doctrine that you can sin and still be saved is a very popular one for those who are still of the world and living to the lusts of the flesh.

Great thread! This is the heart of the cheap grace notion that when I confess my sins all, past present and future sins are gone forever and we have nothing to do but wait for Jesus to take us home.

Here is one verse that will destroy any notion of confess once for all time. We read it from Romans:3:24&25: "Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;" Notice Paul said that Jesus died for the remission of sins that are PAST, not sins we have not committed yet.

The most important context in the bible is related to Ephesians 2:8. Far too many people read that verse, and sometimes verse 9 once and that settles it for them, or else they rely on their pastors explanation for it and do not study it for themselves.
I have personally studied that verse, along with the rest of the context verses 9&10 which cannot be left, out for 25 years. All Christians should, if nothing else know for certain what this context means because this is the bottom line for our salvation. When we read this whole context we should get a sense of urgency to make certain we are being led of the Holy spirit in regards to it. Here it is in Ephesians:2:8-10: For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them." What most do is leave off verse 10 which balances out the free ride that cheap grace provide, a free ride to hell.

There is so much to verse 8&9 that must be studied out seeing that it is the ONLY way to salvation, the only defining verse in the bible that tells us how we must be saved. I know there are some that say "believe on the Name of the Lord Jesus and you are saved" or call upon the Name of the Lord and you will be saved, but this is laid out by Paul to give us a definite command how we are saved. It should not end here. We need too know what grace is, where can we find it and what does it do, and who is it for. I wrote a short study on this in another thread, but the most important verse I have found about grace is found in Romans 1:5, which is why we have been given grace. Romans:1:5: "By whom we have received grace and apostleship, for obedience to the faith among all nations, for his name:" We have been given grace FOR OBEDIENCE. Without grace, which is displayed at the cross, which is the power of God and the wisdom of God how can we overcome any sin in our lives. Obedience is not to earn grace, but it is the fruit of grace. Like Jesus said If you love me OBEY! John 14:15. There is no earning anything when our obedience springs from unconditional love for God and our neighbor. Agape love transcends human reasoning, Jesus displayed that very well when He was here.The greatest example to follow.

Jesus said whoever comes to Him He will in no wise cast out. John wrote many antichrists have gone out from us, but they were never really of us because if they were of us they would have remained. Osas ( while too complex of an issue to write on a post) is true when we worship God in spirit and in truth. It is only those who were never really of us who fall away.

We are told in 1 John 2:1: "My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:" ask yourself what an advocate is? Before the advocate can help us is if we ask Him to.

If we have no sin, we have no need for an Advocate.
