Joh 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
Joh 1:2 The same was in the beginning with God.
Joh 1:3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
Joh 1:4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men.
Joh 1:5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.
Joh 1:6 There was a man sent from God, whose name was John.
Joh 1:7 The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe.
Joh 1:8 He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light.
Joh 1:9 That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.

Jesus is the Light of the world, that all people through Him might believe, that lights every person that is born in to this world, which means all people have the chance to see the truth of Jesus, and be saved.

Rev 22:17 And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.

Whosoever will can have salvation.

Hmm,I wonder why some people say different, for it appears that God did not choose in the beginning, for whoever wants salvation can have it,and is available to them.

I am not perfect and at times I stumble and fall short. That is the life all believers live on this earth. The fact of the matter is, God knows this and He tells us how He sees us:

Psalm 103:

8 The LORD is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy.

9 He will not always chide: neither will he keep his anger for ever.

10 He hath not dealt with us after our sins; nor rewarded us according to our iniquities.

11 For as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is his mercy toward them that fear him.

12 As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.

13 Like as a father pitieth his children, so the LORD pitieth them that fear him.

14 For he knoweth our frame; he remembereth that we are dust.

I highlighted the verses that bring much comfort to my heart.

First, God does deal with us after our sins, nor does He reward us according to our iniquities.

Second, God knows our frame, He remembers we are dust.

God is more than well aware of our frailties and our shortcomings. And in spite of our weaknesses, He still loves us. That is the heart of the Father. Love for His children.

Another section of Scripture I like is in Hebrews 4:

Hebrews 4:

10 For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his.

11 Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.

12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

13 Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do.

14 Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession.

15 For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as [we are, yet] without sin.

16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

This section speaks of entering into rest (vss 9-10). When we enter into the rest afforded to us in our Lord Jesus Christ, we cease from our own works.

In vs 11, we are told to labour therefore to enter into that rest. If we're going to "work" for something, we should "work" for the things we are told to "work" for. And here in Hebrews we are told to labor to enter into His rest. In entering into His rest, we cease from our own works.

In vs 12, God reminds us that His Word is quick [life-giving‑‑‑it is a living Word] and God's Word is powerful [Greek energēs (active)]. God's Word actively works within the believer to discern between his/her thoughts and intents of his/her heart. Sometimes there is a difference between our thoughts and the intents of our heart. God's Word ferrets out those variances in our lives and brings them to light. If our thoughts and intents of our heart clash, we become unsettled and we do not comfortably rest in Him. So He points out these subtle differences and helps us overcome so that we ultimately find our rest in Him.

In vs 13, we find ourselves under scrutiny. We need to quickly realize that we are exposed to God and there is nothing we can hide from Him. When we finally understand God's deep and abiding love for His children (us), we realize there is no need to hide our frailties from God. We are free to come to Him to seek His guidance and His help in conquering our fears, our weaknesses, our anxieties, our __________ (fill in the blank).

In vss 14-15, we see that our great High Priest, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, has passed into the Heavens and because of this, we are hold fast our profession [Greek homologias (our confession)]. This same Jesus Who is now seated at the right Hand of the Father has been touched with the feeling of our infirmities and He was tempted in all points like as we are, yet without sin. Jesus is compassionate and He understands what we go through in this lifetime. He helps us through our difficult times and lifts our burdens. He clothes us in His righteousness and brings us to Father.

In vs 16, we learn that because of what we learn in vss 10-15, we can come boldly unto the throne of grace so we may receive mercy and grace to help us in our time of need.

There is absolutely no reason to run/hide from God. He is our Father. We are His children. We need to learn to run TO Him when we find ourselves in our times of weakness or stumbling. We cannot, EVER, run from Him.

How many times does God have to tell us before we finally get it?

But we also have this testimony from ladylynn yesterday---->>>>

Does there seem to be a contradiction in her posts?? You bet, beware of smooth and sweet talkers who copy paste posts from heretic preachers, when they themselves also speak contrary to sound doctrine.

Hebrews 10:26

For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,

If you are going to re-post something I wrote or anyone wrote ISIT you must do it in the context it was posted. I will post the looooong post from the other thread so it can be seen IN context. Because without "context" we have been conned.

We all "sin willfully" in our hearts and minds every day. If someone makes you angry at work for instance and you are not loving them but wouldn't mind seeing them be fired.. that is sinning. It pops up in our minds to be rid of that person and be rid of the problem.

Just like if you are driving down the road and someone cuts you off with their car and almost kills you and your family AND THEN has the audacity to flip you the 'sign' (!!!) what is your first feeling? Is it love and compassion for that person? I doubt that.

[FONT=&quot]

The answer to your questions have been put on these threads so often but you are not considering them. You ask the question and when the question is answered... you reject it. But we each have to read the Bible with certain things in mind. Many great Bible teachers and Bible believing Christians who love the Word of God know that we need to address who the verses are talking to., what the circumstances were and when it was written. Not all the Bible is written "to" us but all the Bible is written for our learning.
Every single word in the Bible is there for a reason.

Rightly dividing the Word of Truth is making those distinctions because if you read things in Hebrews that are meant for the Hebrews during the time of the early church you are mis applying those verses. When many Jews were still on the fence about still doing the blood sacrifices even after Jesus had died and rose again. Those Jews had a major hard time switching over.

The only sacrifice for sin is Jesus Christ. There remains no other sacrifice if they go to sacrificing the bulls and goats again and reject the truth of Christ's death for sin., There is no other way to come to God. Not even the "old ways" they were raised up on and believed in so whole heartedly like their fathers and their fathers before them. It was good and right to follow the law back then.

These Jews were raised on the good old religion of their fathers and the Scriptures. Their lives and their families and children's lives were raised on these truths of the law., All their lives revolved around the laws. How could they reject those laws and believe on Jesus Christ????? The writer of Hebrews was teaching them the dire NEED to switch over to Jesus Christ as the only sacrifice for sin now.
If they reject Christ, only judgment remains.

To apply "sinning willfully" to mean should any of us sin willfully today "there remains no sacrifice for our sins" is totally off the mark of truth in the Bible. That would also mean should you have one bad thought, one moment of sinful indulgence of thought or body, one swear word, one extra donut even!!! There remains NO more sacrifice for your selfishness and willful sin. You are doomed forever and the blood of Jesus can't save you.

How insane is that?? It doesn't give the grace and truth of Christ any power or credit for doing for us what we could not do for ourselves. It gives us a certain expectation of judgment and the Bible says we no longer have that over our heads anymore. Can you dare believe that Jesus has made a way of escape for you? That His love (grace) has taken care of the power of sin in your life so that you are free to follow Him without fear of condemnation?

the contradiction is actually you pretending to be a prophet

you sell snake oil and false prophecy

knowing the op somewhat, she is not saying what your nasty mind is trying to make her say

you should really pack up your booth and move one...oh wait...probably cannot find anywhere else they would let you park

Thank you for thinking well of me Lauren and that I did not encourage anyone to sin. I'm sorry that ISIT has taken the topic off of Jesus and instead put it on me and how I'm a bad person in ISITs opinion. This topic is about Jesus being the Light of the world.

It's been my observation that there are some who come to CC who are angry and looking for fights. It seems to be the intent to get believers to fight with each other about what was meant or what is being said instead of the truth of what was said. Accusations being made that are wrong. Then causing people to have to answer the accusation so that they are not misunderstood. I don't think this can be done without taking tons of time and effort away from the truth of Jesus Christ.

I don't have a desire to go down those roads each day with you ISIT. It took me a while to find the post I wrote to you ISIT that you re posted without the context here on this thread. I really don't like being put on the defensive and having my words mis con-screwed. Coming here to fight is not my intention or motive. I come here to be uplifted and encouraged in the faith., to share how God is blessing and teaching so many amazing truths. And to hear how God is teaching the other believers who come here.

I see how some will take good topics and make them into something bad.
 Why they do this I can only guess. ISID you seem to have made it a CC career of refuting other believers and their posts you don't agree with. I don't have time or heart to do this each and every time with you. And I don't want to be pulled into his tangled web of personal fighting you seem to thrive on. I have no energy for it.

When I read the Bible it's a love letter from God to me.,to us. I do not come to His Word with fear and trepidation. The word "trepidation" means;

To be in a state of confusion...... Great alarm or dread.... A quivering motion.

That is not how I come to Jesus to learn. Because I trust in His love for me I read with expectations of hearing His good words. And the Bible says that His perfect love casts out fear. When you know you are loved and secure in that love, you don't fear Jesus and interpret verses that speak of judgment and wrath to be for you. Why? Because you have already read and believed that there is no more judgment or wrath or condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus. Romans 1:8
Therefore there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. (period) (.)

When you are one of the beloved, you are no longer condemned with the world. You are IN the Beloved now. Jesus has taken all wrath and judgment upon Himself for you when you received Him as Savoir and His gift of righteousness. We now have His righteousness not our own. There is no fear in love, but perfect love has cast out the fear.

I'm so thankful to be able to say that ISIT. If you have a problem with my confidence in God's love for me that is something you need to deal with. I am not here on CC to fight with you or anyone about my faith. If my faith bothers you that much., put me on ignore. Some people have done that already and it seems to work for them.

In the mean time be a gentleman and if you are going to re post something I typed., please do it within the context it was written.

This is the type of ungodly behavior that we need to guard ourselves from. They take something said out of context and then attack that one part to make it "appear" we are saying something else.

They want/need to make it "appear" that we are saying that it is ok to live in sin like adultery, stealing, homosexuality, full of malice slandering others...etc ( this malice and slandering gets them every time as they constantly do this in most posts - of course this doesn't really count as a sin in their minds even though they are doing it "wilfully"......)

This mindset is a "hidden reef" amongst us ( Jude 1:12 ) as they continually try to condemn the brethren with their hate-filled, malice-driven slandering.

Romans 16:17 really needs to be implemented. We can still post scriptures that speak of the wonderful grace and love of our Lord for us. Just don't interact with them. We can't stop the slandering and malice-filled posts but we can guard our hearts from them.

Don't give these condemning posts another thought - everyone can see the "spirit" that is behind your posts and how you lift up Christ verses the accuser of the brethren's posts which are condemnation and full of accursedness. All is well...:)

Hey, when you "hyper gracers" copy paste false doctrine from a heretic preacher, expect to get it reproved by those who actually know the Truth and can prove it wrong by multitudes of scripture. And if you make ridiculous claims that you can constantly "willfully sin" and still be saved, also expect those who do know this to be error according to the words of God, to expose this error for what it is= lies and false doctrine.

And just because someone exposes your lies, it does not mean they are spreading slander and hate, it just means you are now ashamed and upset because your lies have now been exposed by the words of God.

If you do not want your false doctrine exposed, then stop posting it. :)

yeah

the only thing that is exposed once again, is your own brand of pick and choose Bible verses to support your personal leanings towards

CONSTANT CONDEMNATION of everyone but yourself

and in that you fail utterly because

THERE IS THEREFORE NO CONDEMNATION TO THOSE WHO ARE IN CHRIST JESUS

maybe you should try that some time....:o

it seems you cannot stand the very thought of the grace of God because when people understand that, people like YOU go out of business

who walk not after the flesh=walking in ongoing wilful sin :)

Yet another attempt to come in with this sinless perfection in the flesh garbage and defile a thread about the beauty of our Lord's love and grace for us.

well, if you don't understand how to stop doing that, I am sure folks here will be very helpful

if someone is IN Christ, they are not walking after the flesh

man you sure do not understand that, do you!

can you say THANK YOU JESUS!!...really, can you?

or do you just go around thanking God you are not like other men?

be careful...that long pharisee robe has cause many to stumble and fall

there, is the REAL danger...counting on your own self righteousness rather than Christ's

you seem stuck on willful sin...again, folks here can help you with that

counting on your own self righteousness

There's the "hyper grace" straw man that is constantly propped up against those who speak out against ongoing and wilful sin. Such mighty defenders of sin they are! LOL :)

I'm not hyper anything...my church background is BRETHERN...VERY conservative

you have one cry and it is falling flat

I would suggest that you are willfully sinning in your desperate attempt to prove what no one said and no one believes

the only thing straw here, are your prideful works and self righteousness while trying to condemn all others

Ongoing willful sin sounds like unbelief. Those who are born again of the Holy Spirit of God walk after the Spirit, despite the fact that we are still encased in sinful flesh, at least until that great and glorious day to which we should all be looking forward, at which time God shall give us the body He wants us to have, imperishable and incorruptible :)

Walking in sin, or in righteousness have to do with the spirit that resides in a person and controls the matters of the heart and mind, which are then manifest outwardly by words and actions. Jesus said it was those things that come forth from the heart that defile a man, so sin is first conceived in the heart. :)

that's interesting, but I compare YOUR words to the words of Jesus and ALL the prophets

I have found that slander appears to be the only language you comprehend and you dish it out just about every post that you make

there is no humility in your posts...no love...no gentle correction...just CONDEMNATION and that is not of God

I do hate actually...I despise the lies you spread about those in Christ who are my sisters and brothers in the Lord

May God forgive you...I pray you come to your senses before all the CONDEMNATION you so gleefully try to apply to everyone else, comes home to roost...like the curse that does not find a place to rest and returns to the one who sent it

resounding brass and clanging symbols

I don't accept them...I know better...I pray people turn from your false gospel of CONDEMNATION

reading your posts is like reading the obituary section of yesterday's news

and when you run short of responding..because you CANNOT answer to what is true, you resort to mocking

This ^^^^ needed to be posted twice.

I am glad to see you agree with me :) Unless you are saying that Holy Spirit indwelt born again believers can also be completely controlled by Satan? Those who are in Christ Jesus walk not after the flesh. Or maybe you are trying to say that there are born again believers who live in constant unremitting unrepentant sin? Can you give an example of such a person? Someone here?

Wow, you got all that out of what I said huh? Sounds like you have an agenda as well. Sorry, not falling for the straw man wild accusations, or baiting tactics. Who was directing your heart in that one? :)

Nice evasion and blaming tactic for refusing to answer my question. Shall we try again? Do you believe Holy Spirit indwelt born again believers can be completely controlled by Satan and live in ongoing unremitting unrepentant sin? Yes or no will do. Please leave your obfuscations elsewhere, thank you.

Do you believe Holy Spirit indwelt born again believers can be completely controlled by Satan and live in ongoing unremitting unrepentant sin? Yes or no will do.

Absolutely not, what would give you that idea in my statement? Certainly not in my threads either which constantly speak out against sinful behavior and about what a true conversion looks like. But here's the problem, there are those who claim themselves to be "Holy Spirit indwelt born again believers" but they also confess to ongoing wilful sin and with no need to repent because they believe all their future sins are already forgiven.

So certainly I hope you can see the contradiction in what they say and do and what the words of God say is true. I personally believe the reason they cannot stop sinning is because they have not truly been born again of the Holy Spirit, because if they were truly born again of the Holy Spirit they would not be willfully sinning every day as they confess. :)
