Love this Blue....

What amazes me is the the lengths some Christians go to "find" pagan and evil, but never apply that same high powered energy and perception to "find" what they could have in Jesus and the Holy Ghost....

Screeching against things is easy and is grasping at wind and futility.....

Asking, seeking and knocking is hard and is Spirit and is Life...

It's only pagan if you make cornbread stuffing instead of traditional stuffing.

I think that jelly-like cranberry stuff that comes in a can is satanic though...

Sure I have lots of it. I'm also in the middle of making another list of pagan stuff.. lol

Making lists is pagan too.....probably the worse kind there is.....

Thank God for the blood of Jesus and that we are safe in Him - knowing there is really no such thing as an idol as Paul says.

Pretty much out of context.... Jesus was condemning the Jews for creating their own laws and traditions, and pushing aside God's laws.

Says nothing about observing a holiday. In fact, scripture says we are free to observe one day over another if it does not violate our conscience, IIRC.

Yeah not so fast... rabbis had takanot and ma'asim, laws and precedents. laws were rabinnical laws, and precedents were as the leards do you shall do... Now I am not putting this on anyone, or judging, simply pointing out similarities.

The pharisees killed John the baptist father, Zecharyah, because they had a man made holiday, and Zecharyah wanted to celebrate YHWH's feast day, on the day YHWH said....

So the pharisees demanded that he honor their man made holiday, and on the day of Yah, that Zecharyah show up at the town square in a way that would transgress againt Yah...

Zecharyah chose to not honor their man made day, but to honor the day of Yah, so they killed him.

1 John 2:15-17, "Do not love the world nor that which is in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. Because all that is in the world – the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life – is not of the Father but is of the world. And the world passes away, and the lust of it, but the one doing the desire of Yah remains forever."

Isaiah 66:22-23, “For as the new heavens and the new earth that I make stand before Me, declares יהוה, “so your seed and your name shall stand. And it shall be that from New Moon to New Moon, and from Sabbath to Sabbath, all flesh shall come to worship before Me,” declares יהוה."

Zecharyah 14:8-9, 16, "And in that day it shall be that living waters flow from Yerushalayim, half of them toward the eastern sea and half of them toward the western sea, in summer as well as in winter. And יהוה shall be Sovereign over all the earth. In that day there shall be one יהוה, and His Name one. And it shall be that all who are left from all the gentiles which came up against Yerushalayim, shall go up from year to year to bow themselves to the Sovereign, יהוה of hosts, and to observe the Festival of Booths."

You see the Feast Days and Sabbaths will be kept eternally.

In fact, scripture says we are free to observe one day over another if it does not violate our conscience, IIRC.

Colossians 2:16-23, "16Let no one, then, judge you in eating or in drinking, or in respect of a feast, or of a new moon, or of sabbaths, 17which are a shadow of the coming things, and the body [is] of the Christ; 18let no one beguile you of your prize, delighting in humble-mindedness and [in] worship of the messengers, intruding into the things he hath not seen, being vainly puffed up by the mind of his flesh, 19and not holding the head, from which all the body — through the joints and bands gathering supply, and being knit together — may increase with the increase of God.20If, then, ye did die with the Christ from the rudiments of the world, why, as living in the world, are ye subject to ordinances? 21— thou mayest not touch, nor taste, nor handle — 22which are all for destruction with the using, after the commands and teachings of men, 23which are, indeed, having a matter of wisdom in will-worship, and humble-mindedness, and neglecting of body — not in any honour, unto a satisfying of the flesh."

I think we have v16 down, I want to focus on 20-23, as to see context. Shaul (Paul) in nearly all his thoughts talks about a topic and then goes on to explain, he uses an advanced style of writing as his (worldly) education was beyond that of the other NT writers.

20If, then, ye did die with the Christ from the rudiments of the world, why, as living in the world, are ye subject to ordinances?

So he is saying if your dead to the world why would you subject yourself to its (the worlds) ordinances. To think he is saying if your dead to the world then why would you subject yourself to YHWH"s/Yahshua's Commandments would make no sense, but he explains it further.

21— thou mayest not touch, nor taste, nor handle

the pharisees had a law in which you could not eat meat and cheese togather, or even within 4 houhs of eachother. Now this is not in YHWH's Law even, YHWH's Law says dont boil a kid in its mothers milk (3 times) (the local pagans had this as a religious practice YHWH did not want His people to partake in these evil pagan practices) the pharisees using something called "midrashic interpretation" the pharisees looked at it and said well since it says this three times it must meant three different things. SO THEY MADE UP THEIR OWN LAW, that was completely disconnected from Scripture and enforced it as from YHWH.

22which are all for destruction with the using, after the commands and teachings of men,

So here very clearly he states "the commandments of men", now if you read from 16-20 you see he stays on topic, and 20 says basically if your dead to the world why do what the world tells you, so we can see he is still on this topic from v16. In this verse 22, he says "which are all for destruction", how does Sabbath lead to destruction and it would also have to be a "commandment of men" if there is ant commandment that is the farthest thing possible from being a "commandment of men" it is the Sabbath, it was from creation and it shows the AUTHORITY of the Creator, the mark of the Creator. Also tying a "commandment of men" to destruction Romans 8:13, "For if you live according to the commandments of men, you will die; but if, through the Spirit, you put to death; put an end to, the evildoing of mankind, you will live."

23which are, indeed, having a matter of wisdom in will-worship, and humble-mindedness, and neglecting of body — not in any honour, unto a satisfying of the flesh.

Pleasing of the pharisees by following the talmud. v22 for context = "after the commands and teachings of men"

you see the pharisees would have a problem if you did things according to YHWH's instruction and not their ORAL LAW, this is shown in MATT 15, 23, mark 7:7-9, etc

If you kept the Sabbath NOT according to the Talmud but according to the Scriptures the Pharisees would have a problem.

Matt 12:10 & 12, "And, behold, there was a man who had a withered hand. Then they asked
Him, saying; Is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath Days?--so that they might accuse Him."
"And how much more valuable is a man than a sheep? Therefore, it is Lawful to do righteousness on the Sabbath."

The "Rabbis" also made their own holidays, Haunnaka and Rosh hashanna and more. when they left babylon they even changed the names of the moons (months), and rosh hashanna even changes the time of the new year, commandment and ordinances of men. The calendar YHWH created is YHWH's calendar, the one who created it created the heavens and the earth, thus is is calculated by the heavens, the moon in this case. Our current calendar is the gregorian calendar, which is an updated version of the bablonian calendar. YHWH said the days end and begin at sunset, not the "Rabbis."

Since the Pharisees/"Rabbis" made up their own, and/or times/ways to keep their own made up "feast days", if you did not submit the the Pharisees they would seek to have you brought to trial, beat, imprisoned, or even killed you for not honoring their non-Scriptual days. The Talmud tells a story of another "Rabbi" (Zacharyah, father of John) disagreeing and wanting to follow the Scriptures, and the head Pharisees told him, on threat of death, to appear in public on a Scriptual Feast Day in a way that the man can not honor YHWH as perscribed in the Scriptures, thus commanding him to disobey YHWH. They killed him for seeking to honor YHWH and not their man made religion. Yahshua spoke of this, but many have no clue of the history behind it;

Mat 23:35, "so that on you should come all the righteous blood shed on the earth, from the blood of righteous Heḇel to the blood of Zeḵaryah, son of Bereḵyah, whom you murdered between the Dwelling Place and the altar."

2Chron 24:20-21, "Then the Spirit of Ylohim came upon Zeḵaryah son of Yehoyaḏa the priest, who stood above the people, and said to them, “Thus said Ylohim, ‘Why are you transgressing the commands of יהוה, and do not prosper? Because you have forsaken יהוה, He has forsaken you. And they conspired against him, and at the command of the sovereign they stoned him with stones in the courtyard of the House of יהוה."

Rosh Hashanah (New Year)
Rosh Hashanah occurs on the first and second days of Tishri (the 7th moon or month, YHWH's year starts in the 1st month). In Hebrew, Rosh Hashanah means, literally, "head of the year" or "first of the year." Rosh Hashanah is commonly known as the Jewish New Year.

How does the year start in the 7th month? According to the Scriptures and YHWH;s calendar the year starts in the 1st month, Abib.

Chanukkah
On the 25th of Kislev are the days of Chanukkah, which are eight... these were appointed a Festival with Hallel [prayers of praise] and thanksgiving. -Shabbat 21b, Babylonian Talmud

Tu B'Shevat
There are four new years... the first of Shevat is the new year for trees according to the ruling of Beit Shammai; Beit Hillel, however, places it on the fifteenth of that month. -Mishnah Rosh Hashanah 1:1

Purim
Is one of the most joyous and fun holidays on the Jewish calendar. It commemorates a time when the Jewish people living in Persia were saved from extermination.

Tisha B'Av
Five misfortunes befell our fathers ... on the ninth of Av. ...On the ninth of Av it was decreed that our fathers should not enter the [Promised] Land, the Temple was destroyed the first and second time, Bethar was captured and the city [Jerusalem] was ploughed up. -Mishnah Ta'anit 4:6

Feasts that YHWH says should be kept for all generations are promoted in the NT:

1 Corinthians 5:7-8, "Therefore, purge out the old leaven, that you may be a new batch, since you are unleavened. For truly Yahshua our Passover was sacrificed for us. Therefore, let us keep the Feast, not with bold leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth."

keep the Feast is word #1858. heortazo
heortazo: I keep a feast
Part of Speech: Verb
Transliteration: heortazo
Phonetic Spelling: (heh-or-tad'-zo)
Short Definition: I keep a feast
Definition: I take part in a festival, keep a feast

Yes....that stuff from the "can" is right from the pit of hell. What about the extravagance of the gravy too? We have so much to be thankful for in Christ and our freedom that He gives us.

How is it that we constantly see scriptures changed...like this one here. It gets changed to "Making the Laws of YHWH of no effect".

Mark 7:13 (NASB)
[SUP]13 [/SUP] thus invalidating the word of God by your tradition which you have handed down; and you do many things such as that."

I thank God for His word and this thanksgiving is not satanic..:)....but let's quote the scriptures as they are really written and also through the work of Christ and not change the words.

My error, going too fast,

in context the passage is talking about the Torah.Law/Commandments,

6And he said to them, “Well did Isaiah prophesy of you hypocrites, as it is written, “‘This people honors me with their lips, but their heart is far from me; 7in vain do they worship me, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.’ 8You leave the commandment of God and hold to the tradition of men.” 9And he said to them, “You have a fine way of rejecting the commandment of God in order to establish your tradition! 10For Moses said, ‘Honor your father and your mother’; and, ‘Whoever reviles father or mother must surely die.’ 11But you say, ‘If a man tells his father or his mother, “Whatever you would have gained from me is Corban”’ (that is, given to God)d— 12then you no longer permit him to do anything for his father or mother, 13thus making void the word of God by your tradition that you have handed down. And many such things you do.”

but in that place "logion" or word is proper, thank you for the correction.

I didnt mean to day that Thanksgiving is satanic, the day that its celebrated today is a pagan day..thats wat I was talking bout...just sayin and what parts of todays thanksgiving practices is pagan, and whats not.
This is exhausting

Just take a deep breath, and turn it all loose, sis.... lol

I think that jelly-like cranberry stuff that comes in a can is satanic though...

YES!! She GETS it..... Ross Perot even talked about it years ago... "that giant sucking sound...."

Um...nope. I'm not Jewish... I don't observe Jewish feast days and Sabbaths. We are free from that system, and if we try to go back to it... well, you should know the consequences of THAT move.
