John 17:17 Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.

Here's a command to sanctify us through the truth of the word of God. Is God's word truth? Do we have it? Can you provide a Bible where every word of it is true? If a Bible cannot be trusted in every word, then that Bible is not the word of truth.

Matthew 4:4 But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

If I am to live for God, I need every word that He has given me. Do we have that? Do we have a Bible in which we can trust every word to be true?
John, people are under the misconception that the "word of God" or "word of the Lord" is not the written word of God due to some of the Old Testament writings about the word the Lord coming to people in visions or directly speaking to them. I think most people are so entrenched in "original" word meanings that they get tunnel vision and can't see the whole of scripture.

The word of the Lord is manifest in many ways other than just visions and such.

The word of the Lord directly out of the mouth of Jesus
Luke 22:61 KJV
And the Lord turned, and looked upon Peter. And Peter remembered the word of the Lord, how he had said unto him, Before the cock crow, thou shalt deny me thrice.

The word of the Lord out of preachers mouth.
Acts 8:25 KJV
And they, when they had testified and preached the word of the Lord, returned to Jerusalem, and preached the gospel in many villages of the Samaritans.

The word of the Lord through other believers.
Acts 13:49 KJV
And the word of the Lord was published throughout all the region.

The word of the LORD in the gospel both spoken and the inspired writings.
1 Peter 1:25 KJV
But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you.

It's not a debateable point, they are not the same. Paul talking to saved Galatians was travailing in birth to form Christ in them. Christ in us is the born again part of us.

Galatians 4:19 KJV
My little children, of whom I travail in birth again until Christ be formed in you,
No wonder you are messed up doctrinally.

Paul is addressing sanctification to the Galatians not salvation in chapter 4. Paul is exhorting them not to return to bondage of Judaism but to grow in Christ, to mature in Christ.

Makes me wonder how you became saved.

I do not follow you... all that "words" and "DNA" and "different Christ" stuff.

How can you repent, regret your sins and believe the gospel if you are not born again first?
Define born again. What is born again?

You DO know that the KJV was overseen by the Archbishop of Canterbury, yes? Did you know he put a religious slant in it to help him solidify authoritarian leadership of the church of England & the archbishop's title & position? He even put in the words "bishop", "bishopprick", & "office". There were no such terms in the manuscript they used. He did that all by his little self.

Now we have churches with power-wielding elders, ministers, & deacons thanks to him.
Bishop means high priest, Is Christ the bishop of your soul?

Messed up doctrinally lol. Sanctification of Galatians is messed up doctrine, we're sanctified when we're saved but I don't want to get into that argument. You are saved, have you entered the kingdom of heaven? Can you see the kingdom of heaven all around you right now?

To put it differently,

what did early Christians, who couldn't access a perfect Bible, chew on?
How would I know, I wasn't around then.

Edit to add: They had the Old Testament, everthing in the New Testament is hidden in the Old Testament.

They followed manuscripts the same manuscripts the KJV has but it depends bc the Catholics had their own Codex and latin langauage of vulgate. I believe the cardinals or highranking aristocrats kept these manucripts from the people, which infouenced the protestant reformations. Before that, at the very beginning there were councils who debated which creeds to follow. These councils were mainly what is referred to now as "Orthodox Christians" & Catholicism started by Constantine.

they couldn't follow the masoretic, because it wasn't around then.

they had no way of testing a copy of an epistle to see if it was accurate.

Well, one reason would be most of the Greek speaking Christians back then couldn't read Hebrew.
The writers of the New Testament knew the Old Testament pretty well, if they knew I'm sure the others did also.

Actually, the KJV was originally damage control.

If you compare the KJV to Tyndale's version it is 85% exact. Which means the writers of the KJV merely took Tyndale's version (the first English version) and made a few changes.

Also, many people don't know that King James was bisexual.

Yet, the KJV, the NIV, etc condemn homosexuality. Your point?

CLV Mt 15:24 Now He, answering, said, "I was not commissioned except intofor the lost sheep of the house of Israel."

CLV Mt 10:6 Yet be going rather toward the lost sheep of the house of Israel.

CLV Ac 5:31 This Inaugurator and Saviour, God exalts to His right hand, to give repentance to Israel and the pardon of sins.

CLV Jn 4:22 You are worshiping that of which you are not aware; we are worshiping that of which we are aware, for salvation is of the Jews.

With few exceptions, all the early Christians were Jews.

Define born again. What is born again?

Its to be spiritually born of God, to see the truth, to regret sins, to listen to the Holy Spirit, belief in the gospel etc.

Without it we are blind and dead in our sins... and we like it.

How do you define it?
