I want no part of a relationship where I am expected to let someone have control over me, and where if I resist I am wrong in doing so. Sorry.
Those are "marriage" duties. If that's the way you look at it perhaps marriage isn't for you. There are many married couples who truly love eachother and have no problem submitting to one another.
No man is entitled to my body, not now not ever. It's one thing for you to say, god made me and knows best- even if I don't agree. No man, no woman is entitled to MY body.
You have to take into account that scriptures unfortunately get taken out context. Subsequently the meaning of them changes, and, especially if it's just one or two verses and the comprehension from surrounding verses is absent, the Lord is thus absent too. You'll have a much better grasp on your situation through the eyes of the Lord if you make an earnest attempt, not a superficial one, at understanding scriptures. Get as many resources as you can through as many people as you can reach and meditate on them with the Lord who will guide you down the honourable path.
So you're here under false pretenses, lying to your friend, and don't believe that you are doing spiritual harm to yourself? Wow... What are you gonna do when you're burning in hell? God won't have pity on you then.. God doesn't care much for those who give him the middle finger salute. :/
That's all fine and dandy but fellow Christian friends of yours are outright saying I have no right not to submit my body to a man. I'm not arguing over a verse I'm arguing with direct statements.

That's exactly what I've just asked you to reconsider doing. Never mind one or two people who lack understanding of scripture. If you're not convinced, go above and beyond this thread, to various other resources such as books, dvd's, christian groups, christian book stores and pastors and present those verses to them. Look at it as though it were a research project and God is guiding you through. Then you will attain proper understanding of His word on any issue.
These verses right here say it all. In a relationship, the woman yields her body to the husband. And likewise with the man yielding his body to the wife. THE BIBLE says this. We are only telling you what the bible already says.. So, when and if your partner have sex, you're gonna need to yield your bodies to each other.
Unfortunately you're repeatedly missing the point. In a "Marriage" A husband & wife are to submit themselves to one another. If the couple loves eachother it comes naturally because they desire to keep eachother happy. If your dating someone you are not required to submit yourself as you would in a marriage. Marriage is a sacred union between two, the two become one flesh.
By her own admission, she USED TO be a "devoted christian". Yet despite several requests for her to tell us why she now disbelieves, she won't..

I'll tell you why, I never felt joy or contentment as a believer. Maybe some little giggles at youth group, but it never felt more than that. I'd have those spiritual highs at church camp that suddenly crashed.
When I had a bile leak and was in the hospital for a year with awful pain, tons of the members from the church my family went to would give me pamphelts about how instead of blaming God i should trust him. My mother told me she didn't want me to be angry with God, But I wasn't angry, I was injured internally, it happens. Finally I realized I wasn't angry because all along I'd never felt some one there, I felt there was no one to be angry with. I became number and number and eventually I got sick of following a list of rules for my life. I treat others as I would like to be treated.

It is when we are in the most pain, or at the lowest point in our lives, that God is the closest to us. Please read some of my threads.. The pain one in particular. I was alone too, no one to help me or hold me or comfort me. I was incapacitated for over 6 months, and pretty much was stuck in bed for all that time. AND I was taking care of an ill cat who kept throwing up and pooping on the floor. It is darn near impossible to walk with sciatica, even more so to try and bend over to clean up the floor. Your rebellion is keeping you from feeling God. I wish you would realize that.
sister... that's religion, not a relationship with Him. He is so much more that rules. ask Him to show Himself to you, ask Him to reveail the true loving Father He is. He will pour out His love for you in a real way the is personal and unque to you. His word will come alive then and you will see that its not about following some rules but becoming His word on earth and like Him. if you want to His arms are wide open. waiting for you as long as you breath, He will always be there.
Please go to the testimony forum and see all those people who have suffered pain and suffering and how their belief in God helped them get through the pain and how many of them conquered it. Religion don't save, Jesus saves, religion don't heal and helps suffering. Only Jesus does
I feel sad reading this, but I'm sure the Holy Spirit is still prodding you to accept and trust Jesus as your Lord and Savior. You could have chosen many other places to talk about these issues, but you chose to come to a Christian site. It's not about blame or anger or apathy, or even feelings.
It's about a God that loves you so much, and wants you to be with Him for eternity so much, that the ONLY way it could be accomplished was to send the very person that He loved more than anything, to die for YOU!
Forget about feelings. They can betray you, especially with enemy only too happy to exploit them.
Believe the Gospel! The world says show me and I'll believe, God says believe and I'll show you.
Dear Heavenly Father, please reveal Yourself in a powerful way to this woman. Let her feel Your Presence in her life, and give her the Faith to believe in Your Son. In Jesus Name I pray.
