Oh I just remembered another ex that I ran into... This was back in the 90's and we met online in the old AOL chatrooms lol. We dated a few times (in real life) but she lived like an hour away and it was just too far for me so I broke up with her on the phone one night. :( I felt horrible while doing it too but I just didn't like driving all the way out there because it was really far. She didn't want to break up but said she understood but she was very hurt. :(

Anyway.... a few years later I think it was me who contacted her on AOL just to see how she was doing and she was married but wanted to meet me just for old times sake and we met for lunch at this restaurant. It was nice to see her and see that she seemed happy. After that we were friends online for awhile but we soon lost touch.

(another story with no punchline... sorry, that's just how my life is. :p)

I honestly thought about getting back together with her but my heart was saying yes while my mind was saying it might not be a good idea... She has an ex who was in jail. He is also the father of her daughter. Its too bad because she's really sweet and we got along real well too.. but I'm sure she had plenty of other guys to choose from.. I do think about her once in awhile especially now that we have facebook. I've looked for her on there before but didn't find her. Not sure if I'd try to contact her anyway because I have nothing to brag about as far as my life since then....
I just remembered from another thread long time ago that bragging is your rare hidden talent. It could work if you use your resources well. ;)

I don't remember that lol. I know I said a couple times I was going to brag because I wanted to, but that was about work around the house that I did or work on my car or something.. I can't remember which :p

Anyway I don't brag because then people might think I'm really good or something when I'm really not that good...

"You're still alive?!"

Tink, thank you for including a perfect answer to choose from. :)

I know I'll catch slack for this but I do have one ex whom I would ask, without hesitation: "Wow. You're not dead yet? HOW is that even possible?!"

He was engaged in so many self-centered, destructive behaviors that yes, I'm surprised his bucket wasn't drop-kicked at least 10 years ago.

I suppose I should have given a prettied-up, sanitized answer... But when it came to that particular relationship, that IS my nicest answer!

Awesome thread and poll, Tinkerbell. Please, keep 'em coming. :D
Well they do say only the good die young.

Well they do say only the good die young.

I did'nt know that qoute was Biblical. But this is the secret to life.

Ecclesiastes 7:15-18 NLT

I have seen everything in this meaningless life, including the death of good young people and the long life of wicked people. So don’t be too good or too wise! Why destroy yourself? On the other hand, don’t be too wicked either. Don’t be a fool! Why die before your time? Pay attention to these instructions, for anyone who fears God will avoid both extremes.

Sending you a great big (HUG) bro. :) Think of it this way - if it didn't work out it wasn't part of God's greater plan for you.
Thank you, sis. I appreciate your kind words and e-Hugs. :)

I've been married a long time and have gotten over any ex I had years ago so now I'd just say, hi how are you? Actually a guy I dated just messaged me on LinkedIn to ask how I was. It was nice to hear from him but any feelings of love and hurt are long, long gone.

What do you mean by BUMPED?

Do you mean ... like... run over her with my truck?

The above comment was probably way too sarcastic for Thanksgiving.

Please pretend it's the week before.

Additional poll choices:

1. Oh wow hi!
2. Wots an ex?
3. Nod
4. Hand gestures
5. Run over with my truck
6. Ignore mode
7. Pretend to be blind
8. Stare to oblivion
9. Eye contact, awkward silence, walk away

I came up behind my ex and his honey on their motorcycle just a few weeks ago on the interstate. I briefly entertained the notion of "tapping" them very lightly, just for funzies. In reality I sped past them, avoided eye contact and prayed that they wouldn't recognize me.

My ex-husband is getting married this next week...

My problem is not knowing what to say...congratulations? Can I honestly say that when He's walked so far outside of God's will to get all that he has now?

Maybe I'll go with..."I hope you get what you deserve." That's not true either. What I hope is that he comes back in alignment with Christ and most certainly doesn't get what He deserves. My heart breaks for the state of His spiritual life right now.

My mama taught me if I don't have anything nice to say then don't say anything at all. Also, God says don't lie. How can I say niceties if they aren't true? Meh...

I suppose saying "I'm really glad you're married so I know you *definitely* won't ask me to take you back." (even though this is 100% true) isn't really all that nice...maybe I'll just go with the nothing at all version. ;)

I did bump into an old ex of mine. I said "hey you got that $12,000 you owe me?"

Surprisingly, she did!
