OK..imagine you are rich..really rich. You live in a graet big house, have a nice car, nice clothes, everywhere u go, people see that you are rich. How do u think people act around you?

Some will hate you because you are rich and you will wonder why they seem to hate you and wonder if you did something that offended them. Some will be overly nice to you because you are rich and they will vie for your attention and try to become your friend because you are rich, but you never can tell if they want to be your friend because they like you as a person, or because you are rich.

Now.....

replace the word rich with attractive.

any questions?

Yes, i have a question.

Why would someone try to befriend someone just because that person was attractive?? If anything you should avoid those that are attractive. I say we should shun physically appealing people, but thats just my narrow minded opinion....

Shun physically appealing people???? ummmm....
god made us - they way we look is the way that he wanted us to look (unless you've gone and had yourself cut open to change something - but lets ignore that!)
So are you saying that physically unattractive people are the only people who can be nice? or who can be 'real' christians? or who can be good friends? or who can be of value to us??

We can't help the basis of how we look so why shun people for it - thats just as bad as shunning dark skinned people or shunning light skinned people - racism.

So then maybe im attractivism

So thats why everyone shuns and avoids me! It all makes sense now...

I really hope the people who think attactive people are to be shunned aren't serious.

As an attractive person I'm probably more deep, nice, and intelligent than most women. I'm also a woman who is in love with God whole-heartedly, studies the scriptures, and prays for others. I've also dated men who aren't by any means "attractive" at all

So I guess you dated them because they showed good personality?
If that's the case surely they were attractive to you, or are you just talking physically?

I'm just trying to understand what's being talked about here, it seems to be a statement of the obvious fact that pretty people tend to gather together and so does everyone else depending on what cliche they are closest too.

I'd hope on here most people are beyond the idea of physical attractiveness being of much relevance outside marriage because obviously that attraction needs to be there in that relationship, but not in any other relationship as character is of much more value.

I dated them because they were sincere, funny, positive, and kind individuals. They were attractive to me in the since that I didn't care if he was fat and balding- his personality made him beautiful. I'm sure married couples feel this way about their spouse when they let themselves go. It doesn't and shouldn't matter because that person is great.

Being beautiful is more like winning at a gamble. It doesn't say much about your worth although the world would love to make you think so.

Anyone else notice this? I think it's pretty funny =P

Also, I only date people that are attractive to me. Otherwise, why would I even date them?? Of course, physical attraction is just a part of it. Emotional attraction is a must, and Christianity is a qualifier to even be considered ~_o

Err, no. That answers my question, whether or not I am attractive. So....anyone got a paper bag? Lol.

People envy; because, people have pride. All people have a sense of entitlement in some form or another; which, can potentially lead to prejudices and hate towards someone else who has something that they themselves desire deep down.

If you have ever wondered if you have any of those traits all you have to do is ask yourself; what is it in life that you truly desire and who do you know who has a lot of it. I can already calculate someone is going to say, "I desire to be closer to God". That statement is noble; but, even it can lead you down a slippery slope if you do not watch yourself. I'm sure you have seen your share of people on these forums who appear to be [holier than thou] aka those people who seem to know better than you; which, most Christians, as much as they deny it, detest. No one likes when someone makes them look bad.

They weren't labeled deadly sins without good reason. They are dangerous; because, we do not see them coming for us and when they sink their claws into our chests they are difficult to repel. It would be like trying to rip a limb off and throw it away; those traits can become as much a part of a person as their very organs.

Not quoting anyone here, going straight for the main question in this topic :D Well if you get endless date requests that shows you're attractive....rofl.... j/k :p

(I dunno why people seems to be so interested on being attractive and on attractive ppl in here, we're all gonna end as dirt bags at the end of our earthly lives anyway-its the spiritual lives that counts)

Anyway, back to the topic, if you have friends and people who loves hanging out with you, people wanting to just talk or ask for advice without having any other motives; Friends and family who enjoys your company, that makes you attractive, from the inside out ;)

Guess I'm not attractive then. I haven't had a date or interested in 8 years. In fact I've been turned down by someone I didn't even ask out.

I'm a senior in high school.... I have one girl my grade, one girl in 9th grade, and a coupla 6th grade (ew) girls that have crushes on me. Does this make me attractive, or do I just rule out the 6th-graders and call myself average? =P

Or does this only apply to adults?

Aww it was just a joke, it doesn't make you unattractive not being ask out for a date. Everyone's ugly and beautiful in their own way. I haven't been out in a date for a long time too, may I join your lil gang :D

I think it's strange to think that the only reason some people are nice to you is because you look good. But then again I'm not prejudice, I hate every body.
