There seems to be a kind of mindless emotionalism when it comes to Israel and all things Jewish. This is largely due to the Dispensationalist position taken by some which I equate to being cultic. I am not anti Semetic by any means but find it difficult to support the actions of the Israeli government and impossible to believe that God has blessed them for some of their military actions which far outweigh any provocations directed at themselves. There is condemnation of Assad and Putin for what they are doing in Syria but silence where Israel is involved.

one other Item Tanakh: In Romans 11:25 "For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fullness of the Gentiles be come in".(Harpozo)

This verse above could part of the reasons Israel is not responding to the annihilation of her neighbors. In earlier verse it is apparent that she cannot hear as well. After all it is God's Plan.

If it helps any, during the Gog/magog war, the scripture tells us that the US and other friendly countries only ask the reason why Gog's army is coming upon Israel. There is no help to be had here. Again it is God's plan.

Where does it say that in the bible? Remember, the Old Covenant for the land has been done away with in Christ, they are under a new covenant now and land wasn't in the new covenant. Also remember those people in Israel right now hate God, hate Jesus and hate you. Even if the old land covenant was still in effect, those people in Israel have not repented and God would not bring them back into the land until they did.

Its quite an overstatement. In fact, Christians have never defended or supported Israel for 2000 years.

Now its a "modern" view (20th century), hold by some Christians and related to dispensionalism theology.

We can say that when Christian is a dispensionalist, he also supports the modern state of Israel uncritically.

Other Christians support Israel critically, i.e. like every other democratic developed country fighting with terrorists.
