Car detailing. :) I've actually thought about going into it a few times over the years but this time I looked into it seriously and I've already been detailing mine and my parent's vehicles for years and I've even painted my own car and know how to do paint correction and even minor bodywork, plus I'm sort of OCD about cleanliness and neatness so it should be a perfect fit for me. :)
Best Wishes (I won't say good luck, since I don't believe in luck). There is a company here that goes to other people's businesses and will detail cars for the employees while they are at work. The guy makes a lot of money. I don't know if you've considered that, a traveling detail guy in conjunction with having a shop. You can drum up people to come to your shop that way, too.

Yes, for now I'm just going to be mobile, going to client's houses, getting new business through word-of-mouth. I don't know how some guys are able to do work in a parking lot because most places have laws against it, unless maybe they have some kind of special permit from the city or something. My dream is to be like this guy on youtube that has wealthy customers who call on him every month or so to do their high-end, expensive cars at their homes. He charges no less than $250 and works by himself and he's been in the business for over 25 years. What I love about it is that to me, detailing cars is almost therapeutic lol and the overhead cost isn't very big at all.

I'm pretty sure the guy I'm thinking about has something called a peddler's license that allows him to be mobile. A business with a low overhead is quite smart.

Really hard to start book clubs because most people don't follow through on reading. But I love the idea!

I am new to this site, I've been on a couple of other forums hoping to find people who would like to read books together and discuss them, an online book club, if you will. I was wondering if there is a subforum like this here, or if anyone would like to read and discuss books with me, or direct me to a website with bookclubs. I tried a book club at my local library, but it was unsatisfactory as each person made one comment and that was that.

I am personally open to reading anything, although I prefer classics.

If anyone is interested, let me know through either pm or this thread.
Someone did try to start a book club here awhile back. They started a thread for the first book and figured out what date everyone would finish it and discuss it. At first a lot of peeps seemed interested but when the time came to discuss it hardly anyone had read it, then it kind of fizzled out from there... But that was 2 or 3 years ago. Maybe one would go better this time around.. who knows..

It would be nice, I miss talking about books with people.

I wonder why that is? I'm peculiar in that I read all books I start until I finish them. Even poorly written ones. I don't know why that is. I'm just stubborn that way.

Me, too. I went to one at my local library, but it was not as in depth a discussion as I was looking for. I thought if people read a chapter a week, we could talk about it. A little more of a deeper discussion.

Have you read a Christmas Carol by Dickens?
I haven't actually read it but I heard them enact it on the radio once. It was very moving, especially the part about the little boy.
