The “Grace Teachers” Lead Us Toward A Global Understanding of Salvation

by PHILLIP on SEPTEMBER 30, 2013

A remarkable movement toward pure grace is emerging from both the Arminian (freewill) and the Calvinistic (predestination) realms of the Body of Christ. Whether your bottom line for salvation is man’s freewill or God’s sovereign choice the conclusion is the same: anything that adds to the message that Jesus Christ has done it all is being vehemently challenged. Any message that claims “Jesus+something=your salvation” is immediately suspect of being a different gospel. There is growing a collective mood of zero tolerance for law-based teaching. The radical grace teachers are attacking it head-on. They are teaching us to say no! to the mixture of law and grace. For this we wholeheartedly rejoice!

But there is one fundamental requirement if you want to teach or receive “radical grace:” By definition it can only be true, pure and radical if it’s freely offered to and effectualfor all. In other words, it must be true before it is believed it in order for it to be “news” and it must not be a fear-based message in order for it to be “good“ news.

Radical grace teaching demands a universal application of the Gospel!

I will begin by highlighting the grace teacher Paul Ellis of Escape to Reality blog and author of The Gospel in Ten Words.
His is the book I have enjoyed most recently and which gave me the most clarity on how this grace message is being presented in the popular sphere. Even though I disagree with his conclusion that “not all are saved” and that “universalism steals motivation” I was tremendously encouraged and strengthened by his beautiful treatise on the Father’s never-ending love and grace. It is an insightful and refreshing movement toward true grace. We would simply like to see him take it all the way. Indeed the cry for a pure unadulterated Gospel has no option but for it to be taken all the way. And here are a few reasons why…

Do we see what this really means?

Yes, we should damn them all. We all know very well that God created us simply to enjoy killing us, and it is our job to try to escape His vengeance.

If I were for universalism, I would have wrote something like that to throw a sledgehammer of confusion in the mix. Nice job.
:)

I point you to the rules of this chat room in BDF. Namely sticky number 1. We were told to stop this nonsense, and if we continued, we risked being banned.

Simply put, in recent months it seems that every other thread in this forum has ended up hijacked to the law vs grace vs hyper-grace subject and we have had numerous users leave the site because of the non-stop contention caused by it.

This free for all WILL STOP or the users perceived to the primary cause of the problem (there are users on both sides of the debate) will be removed.

I suggest the author of the OP remove it and I suggest all people ignore it..

op has not yet been reported (at least by myself) but that option is always open.

I don't see a free-for-all. This is a subject I pulled from a Universalist website that's FOR hypergrace, not against it.

I can only speak for myself here. I have listened to thousands of messages on the grace of God that is in Christ by over a hundred different people and have not heard them say that "we all go to heaven". In fact I have heard them come against this teaching of universalism as being false.

I agree with EG that this thread should be removed as it has the potential to stir up the strife and division that accompanies this derogatory term being used in the title and CC has requested members here stop bringing this up.

EVERY thread in the BDF has the "potential" to stir up strife.

So far, so good.

Universalism is believed by many to be "the" end-time religion that will be the one-world religion of the Antichrist.

What do you think?

I think it is hard to escape that Jesus taught "inclusivity", and not "exclusivity."

Your discussing hypergrace, we were told that subject was dead.

we also know how you feel about it, So yes, it fits.

let this thread die, NOTHING good can come from it. It is a dead horse that has been beat to death.

Turning the grace of God into a license to sin=a lawless doctrine. The falling away from the faith is in full swing with the spirit of lawlessness working in them= man of sin being revealed "in them." :)

Indeed this a last day prophecy that this would happen.

Well you need to blend Roman Catholicism with Islam both of which are very exclusive religions to have a one world religion. A better vehicle to accomplish this would be Mary whom both of these religions worship. Through Mary you may be able to achieve universalism at least to the degree that you exclude Judaism.

IMO, Universalism is the one-world religion of the Tribulation, being accepted during the Falling Away of the church.

But, there MUST be a preliminary doctrine leading up to this, otherwise the people would not receive it. Thus the "New Grace" doctrine that "says" the same things we believe, but changes the meanings of all the important words such as faith, grace, repent, conviction, & in the end require nothing from it's recipient, including change.

Proponents of the New Grace doctrine say it requires a change, but makes it clear that you're eternally forgiven already if you don't. So no, change isn't required. Just a decision, a moral acceptance will do.

They will claim this isn't true out of one side of their mouth, & on the other say you're forever forgiven. Can't have both.

It is a well-known fact when any religion "says" they believe the same thing, & then changes all the definitions, THAT RELIGION IS A CULT.
