I don't think anyone HERE believes this.

So... if no one HERE believes this... then it's not really a relative point in this debate.

If it's NOT a relative point in this debate,
then it can only be included here as a means of equivocation,
(as a tool to wrongly conflate completely different points, and thus fabricate some kind of confusion or blame).

"conflate" - funny line there

I have actually had debates with people on other sites who swear to high Heaven that slavery as it was practiced in the USA was, indeed, God ordained. My purpose in posting the Grimke writing was to prove that such an idea is totally without basis and is an absurdity. And it ends all such debates. As always, all solutions to society's problems (whether they take place in the 19th century/20th century/ or whenever can be solved by reading and obeying the teachings that are in the Bible.

Those Democrats and their justifications for slavery and racism.

The people I have debated have been Republican - they get dismayed (and enlightened) by what they learn in Grimke's writing.

Wasn't Sutton some quack no other economists took seriously? I mean you can be both a conservative and a quack. It's possible. People prove it everyday.

People like Paladino. No shocker there. I wouldn't go so far as to call him a "major influence" either. He only got to run for governor because every other NYGOP member thought it was a waste of money to challenge Cuomo. Campaign co-chair? He's nothing. Certainly not some core Trump campaign member.

Paradoxically, Sutton was equally criticized (and honored) by liberals and conservatives back in the day. It just depends of whose views you are disposed to accept. But whatever the case, NOBODY successfully refuted his findings.

You under estimate Paladino. The headlines confirm that he has a far greater influence over GOP affairs in the Empire state than you would like to believe.

What about it's modern day version foisted on black communities by progressive liberals? Is that one cool with you?

You will have to be specific as to what you perceive to be harmful by progressive liberals. While you are at it, give details re why right wing solutions have been bigger failures (e.g., increased unemployment in the ghettos during the Great Recession).

Peacenik, could you please stop removing the link to the original post when you quote someone? I am not sure why you do it, but it is something I have noticed you doing a lot lately.

Isn't that convenient? Republicans from another site are pro slavery to the glory of God, but such rhetoric does not exist on CC. Nothing to see here folks. Just more fabrications from our signature toad. Or should I say serpent?

I very specifically referred to people HERE... saying you need to debate with the people who are HERE debating you... not accuse US of something that someone else once told you.

Why do you keep painting us with arguments you heard from someone else, who has nothing to do with us?

Why do you choose to be so blatantly DECEPTIVE and DISHONEST?

Cheese & the Moon:

Hmmmm.

I could say I had a debate with a liberal once, on another site, and he thought the moon was made of cheese... then I could use that to accuse YOU.

Would that be reasonable?

Let's just go there.

Let's use the strategy YOU use.

Peacenik clearly believes the moon is made of cheese, because a liberal once told me that.
Peacenik OBVIOUSLY believes this because a liberal once said that, and Peacenik is a liberal.
Peacenik, you are such an idiot for believing the moon is made of cheese!!!
What is wrong with you?
Why do you keep saying the moon is made of cheese?
You're such an idiot for believing this!!!!
You're such an lunatic for thinking the moon is made of cheese!!!!
Crazy person!!!!
Crazy liberals... why do you all think the moon is made of cheese!
Liberals have no education!
Liberals can't read!
Liberals don't know science!
Liberals can't even read the news!
The liberals are all uneducated hicks!!!
This is OBVIOUS if they all think the moon is made of cheese!!!
Peacenik, why are you so crazy!
Why do you keep saying the moon is made of cheese!!!!!
Why do you keep saying that?
Peacenik you should go back to school!
You need to get some real education and learn the moon isn't made of cheese!
Peacenik, you're wrong!
You and all the liberals are wrong!
The moon is NOT made of cheese, and science proves it!
Read a book!
Everyone says the moon is not made of cheese, but you don't listen to anyone!
You listen to no one!
You're just crazy!
It's like you're deaf!
You're just incapable of hearing anything you disagree with!
How many people have to say the moon is NOT made of cheese before you'll believe it!
EVERYONE believes the opposite of you!
You're so full of crazy conspiracy theories!
You think everyone is secretly out to get you!
Can't you listen to reason?
Why do you keep saying the moon is made of cheese?
Oh, I know sometimes you pretend you didn't say that, but I KNOW WHAT YOU'RE THINKING!
You say you don't believe the moon is made of cheese... sometimes you say that...
but we all know it isn't what you really believe!!!
We all know what you really believe!!!
Deep down, you believe the moon is made of cheese!!!
All you liberals believe that.
All you liberals think the moon is made of cheese!!!

Go ahead, accuse us of something that someone else once said.

We can just do the same.

Of course, if we all use the same debate rules that Peacenik uses,
all debate breaks down into sheer lunacy and madness.

But that's ok... let's all use the same rules.

Maxwell,

Why do you keep painting us with arguments you heard from someone else, who has nothing to do with us?

Can you show me where I accused (or "painted") you of supporting slavery when I was only trying to make a point? And let's see you 'prove' that I ever said the moon was made out of cheese. ;)

By the way, for the rest of the right wingers here, I am still waiting for "proof" that I posted so called "fake news" or told lies. How soon can we expect to see such evidence? After all, you right wingers play by your own rules where you make such accusations but fail to back them up.

Still waiting .....

Who - Washington? Patrick Henry? What party did they belong to?
The Boston Tea Party?

Wait, I think that involved other people in history :p

You have to admit having a tea party with them would be fun. Just remember to stick your pinky in the air as you take a sip

Nah! The only thing that goes into my tea is a little honey and if I'm feeling wild I may put in half and half.

I admit that I'm more a conservative than a liberal but I find that I like your style.:)

I don't want to get too far from the issue here but need to point out that 93% of the black vote went to Democrat Obama.

Still, I need specifics from the one who posed the question and cannot respond to vague and unsupported generalities.
