(John 6:28-29)

28 Then they said to Him, “What shall we do, that we may work the works of God?”

29 Jesus answered and said to them, “This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He sent.”
AMEN...It pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.

You guys do realize that when Jesus said that, this is the work of God, that you believe on the one he sent.

That Faith, belief is a gift from God and not that of yourselves?? So no one can boast as if they received it by THEIR OWN DOING.

and that, that faith is the foundation in which you are to perform good works? Which God prepared for you to do in advance.

He explains about the gifts and how some have more than others. And yet added more to prepare for his return. And how that servant who only had the gift of faith made a hole instead of building upon that which was given as a gift from God. When the master returned he took away which was given because he was an unfruitful servant and knew that he reaped where he didn't sow.

Believing in the one he sent is a GIFT FROM GOD and is not a work of your doing, but it is the foundation to being saved, but he will set you among the wicked if you think you can be unfruitful and still have salvation. Just making sure you guys are not boasting OF YOUR BELIEF IN GOD that was not of your own doing.

for some while not having the gift of faith do my nature the things of the law, these not having the law are a law unto themselves. For it is not the hearers of the law who are righteous before God, but it is the doers of the law who will be declared righteous

So as you can see some will be cut from the tree who KNEW ALL ALONG THE MASTERS WILL BUT DID NOT HIS WISHES. While others who knew not but did those things pleasing in his sight will be grafted in.

Does this mean we follow the law perfectly? No. Jesus justifies the righteous because they was their for the hungry, they visited the sick, they went to the prisons, they loved, they showed mercy... etc

17 that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love,

18 may be able to comprehend with all the saints what [is] the width and length and depth and height–

19 to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.

My dear Friend,

The faith you have is a gift(talent) of GOD. That fact that you believe is not of your own doing. Yes we are granted salvation based upon faith but you can't stop there. What does it also say that because of this faith WE SHOULD DO WORKS THAT WERE PREPARED for us in advance. And what if we don't do the works??

So if a person just believes, and do not the works that were prepared for us in advance. He is a slothful servant and will be accounted among the wicked when the LOAD returns.

and those who did not have the gift of faith, but did those things which the lord said to do will be grafted in your place.

YOU HAVE A GIFT, A TALENT because you believe.. that's one talent and the foundation and most important one. But the question is will you stop there?? or will you feed the poor, be there for the orphans and widows etc.

and why would you assume that because someone talks about grace and faith that they do not do good works??

just because one does not go around bragging about what they do , it does not mean they are doing nothing.

a) Believer that is faithful-->Works of gold, silver and precious stones
b) Believer that is unfaithful-->Works of wood hay and stubble

BOTH have their works tried by fire (God's Judgment)
BOTH are saved
BOTH remain saved
ONE has a grand entrance into the kingdom
ONE has a shameful entrance into the kingdom
BOTH will be in the KINGDOM

1 Corinthians 3 teaches this!

IF the righteous scarcely be saved...............!

It does not get any plainer..........Our righteous works have ZERO to do with Salvation!

English Standard Version
he saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit,

Berean Study Bible
He saved us, not by the righteous deeds we had done, but according to His mercy, through the washing of new birth and renewal by the Holy Spirit.

Berean Literal Bible
He saved us, not by works in righteousness that we did, but according to His mercy, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit,

New American Standard Bible
He saved us, not on the basis of deeds which we have done in righteousness, but according to His mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit,

King James Bible
Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;
ok so just what is your meaning of this scripture Jesus the Bread of Life
26Jesus replied, “Truly, truly, I tell you, it is not because you saw these signs that you are looking for Me, but because you ate the loaves and had your fill. 27Do not work for food that perishes, but for food that endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you.

The burden of proof is on you....You explain....What food can be given that endures to eternal life/...NOTE....FOOD that JESUS gives.....

and you have already have stated that you believe in a working for salvation.....WHICH by the way is a gospel of a different kind which has no power to SAVE...GALATIANS 1,3

OH FOOLISH GALATIANS....who has BEWITCHED you.....HAVING begun in the SPIRIT are you now made perfect or complete by WORKS......

THE whole work is of CHRIST....FAITH is a SPIRITUAL GIFT......if you think you can embellish what CHRIST has already done.....good luck with that!

folks are saying it is by grace and denying works. The truth must go forth so people won't be lead astray. The only grace is taking a few sentences from the bible and not looking at it in his complete context. It clearly says we are his workmanship created for good works that he prepared for his to walk in, in advance. It also tells us what happens if you don't bare any good works.

that's like taking the sentence the lord mercy endureth forever and thus saying we can do anything we want and still go to heaven.

I am presenting the gospel in it's complete forum, and not taking verses and forgetting about the rest.

No, actually your embellishing the gospel with work....Galatians 1, 3 contradicts what your pushing.....

In the grace you are (positioning) having been saved OUT OF FAITH, and that NOT of yourselves (pointed at faith) IT IS THE GIFT of GOD, NOT of works lest any man should boast!

The works are the result of the faith and salvation that one already POSSESSES in CHRIST...they do not embellish and or add to our salvation that is COMPLETE in CHRIST!

Those who are saved by faith, believe in Jesus, plus do the good works he told us to do. Faithout works is dead. He said he will cut the unfruitful from the free and cast them into the fire. Also says we were created for good works which were prepared for us in advance. NOT only that he even tells at the judgement how he grants entry to the ones who did the works he said to do which includes repentance.

You are confused about the sentence it is a gift from God so that no man can boast. The fact that you believe in Jesus IS That gift from God he is referring to so YOU CAN'T JUST BOAST IN BELIEVING IN HIM BECAUSE IT WAS GIVEN. Because of this he tells us to do the good works which were prepared for us to do in advanced to do.

those who are under grace are those who believe in his complete word. Not part of it. You have to believe in him and because you believe do the works he told you to do. THEY ARE UNDER Grace. Those you just claim grace because i believe in him don't understand that, your belief WAS GIVEN TO YOU. That was the work of God he was referring to. It is a gift. You can't just boast in that and do nothing or he will say you were a slothful servant and appoint you a portion with the wicked.

You can't say lord oh i believe it's by grace. Then get to the do the good works part and say NO Lord I will not. Then say, oh yes, I believe in him because when he come he will say otherwise.

Nice twist on James....SHOW ME YOUR FAITH....

Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by FAITH without works.......PAUL ROMANS......

Paul--->Before GOD justified by faith
JAMES-->BEFORE men our faith is seen on works

Your gonna have to do way better than that pal...works do not save, keep saved or embellish salvation
