Im confused if they are the same entity then god killed a part of himself?
I don't have the ability to grasp it either.. the trinity is 3 beings who are all God. They are God individually with different roles, and God collectively also. It truely is confusing. There is no way of ever understanding God, he is simply too big for a human mind and too vast also.

Yeah its something that no one can understand. Wonder why Jesus would have had doubts while on the cross about to die? How does the bible explain his statement "god why have you forsaken me". Ive never understood that.

Jesus is quoting Scripture there, Psalm 22. What He is quoting is a prophesy of Him being handed over for crucifixion, due to His rejection by the people (perhaps moreso the religious leaders) of Him being their long awaited Messiah... all was prophesied and all was fulfilled.

When Jesus says "My God, My God, why hast Thou forsaken Me?", He is, as you no doubt already know, quoting from Psalm 22 (verse 1 in the English versions). This is important to understand, because Psalm 22 is a prophecy of Jesus' crucifixion. The rejection of the Messiah by the people (v.6), the insults they hurled at Him on the cross (vv.7-8 – compare with Matt.27:38-43), the pain of the crucifixion (vv.14-15), the piercing of His hands and feet (v.16), the dividing up of His clothing by lot (v.18) are just some of the more obvious parallels this Psalm prophesies. Jesus knew exactly what was going to happen to Him because He understood this Psalm and how it applied to His death on our behalf (cf. Matt.20:18-19). By quoting Psalm 22, our Lord makes this clear, and makes it clear to all who would later hear these words of His that He was well aware that He would have to die on our behalf in order to save us – for this reason He came into the world (Jn.3:16-17). Psalm 22:1: My God, My God, why hast Thou forsaken Me?

Yes He was. God took on the form of a human, in Jesus. I know it's hard to understand, but it's true. :)

That is just beyond my level of comprehension. I think a lot of stuff just involves a feeling that a person gets from reading the bible. Its interesting how some people have this feeling and some don't. When you think about all the other religions involved it gets really interesting.

Was god also Jesus when Jesus was on earth?

He "had doubts" on the cross, because He was fully human at the time, and in the worst tribulation of His entire life. Just as we say "God why have you left me" in the midst of OUR trials, Jesus did the same. He KNEW God could have saved him from dying on that cross, but the divine part of Jesus also knew why God forsook him.. God forsook Him because God cannot look upon evil, and in that moment, Jesus had all the evils of the world upon Him.. God didn't WILLINGLY forsake Jesus, He just had to let the inevitable happen because He could not look at Jesus while all that evil was upon Him..

I read and very much appreciated quite a few of your posts on the previous page but this, you saying we will never understand, that there is no way of ever understanding, is too much. He has given much to us in order to help us understand. Jesus is the image of the invisible God. God manifested in many ways throughout Scripture, and Jesus was purposed from before the foundation of the world to offer His life as a ransom for many. He was with God in the beginning as the Word of God, through Him everything that is made has been made, the Word took on flesh and walked among us specifically that we might know Him, Who He is, Who He has always been, and who we shall be through faith in Him and His propitiatory sacrifice on the cross. He is the Light and life of men. In Him we live and move and have our being. Jesus as the Son of God, the only begotten, He is God in the flesh, how is that beyond comprehension?

For dumb brains, like mine, lol, trust me it's too much to comprehend..

Yes I agree with you, I don't think anyone (or at least I) can truly comprehend God fully. Even with the trinity, it is hard for us or maybe just me to completely wrap my mind around a being who is three individuals and one at the same time. Basically the vastness of God is not comprehendable to me.

So he had zero doubts he was just saying what he was supposed to say. I had never heard that before. Thats interesting.

"my God my God why have you forsaken me"

When Jesus said those words it was prophesy being fulfilled and it was the first time that the father had ever been separated from him, since Jesus was sinless the father had always been with him, but OUR sins brought on separation because the father is absolutely holy and cannot be in the presence of sin.

You are not dumb :) However, acknowledging the deity of Jesus Christ is something we are able to accept by guidance and enlightenment from the Holy Spirit of God. I can understand a non believer having trouble grasping it, but even then there are many helps. For instance, the elemental composition for water is two hydrogen electrons bonded with one oxygen electron. H2O can manifest as a liquid (water) as a gas (steam) or as a solid (ice) but all are H2O.

Jesus multiple times told His followers and is likewise recorded many times in Scripture that He said and did what was given to Him from the Father to say and do. He said and did all for OUR benefit :)

This is confusing. So he did have doubt because he was no longer a part of god at that moment?

True, total comprehension will undoubtedly escape us, because we are finite beings and God is infinite. But that does not mean there is total lack of understanding. That is what I was saying :) One could postulate that there is nothing that we understand because we lack full understanding of everything under the sun including our very own selves but many would declaim that as well.

This is germane to the Christian message. Jesus Who was innocent, the spotless Lamb of God, became sin for us, He Who knew no sin at all, took the penalty for sin upon Himself. What He felt as He hung there dying on the cross, who could imagine it? The Romans chose crucifixion because it was one of the most cruel ways to put someone to death. They were perhaps a little surprised He died so quickly because it could sometimes take days, which is why they broke the leg bones of those hanging with him, to speed their deaths that they could be taken down before the start of their Passover at sunset (it would cause them to asphyxiate), but Jesus had been beaten quite severely before He was hung on the cross also. Back to how He felt... how can we know? The sins of the world fell on Him. His picture to us of that is being forsaken, abandoned by God. That is what God promises to those who refuse to bow their knee to Him as sovereign ruler of the universe. He shall remove Himself from the non believer, their life's breath (His animating Spirit, or life force) will be retracted, and they shall pass forever after into the second death following the resurrection and judgement of all.

Its not really about hard or easy. Its about being honest with a persons beliefs.
There are two great commandments, that you love the Lord your God with all your heart, mind, and soul, and that you love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments hang all the law and prophets (Matthew 22:34-40). If you aren't willing to obey these two commandments, maybe heaven isn't the place for you.

What is a second death?
Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches.
The one who is victorious will not be hurt at all by the second death.
Rev 2:11

What do they mean by being victorious? Who is it who overcomes the world?

"I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world."
(Jesus speaking in John 16:33)

everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory
that has overcome the world, even our faith.
1 John 5:4

Blessed and holy are those who share in the first resurrection. The second death has no power over them, but they will be priests of God and of Christ and will reign with him for a thousand years.
Rev 20:6

Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire.
The lake of fire is the second death. Rev 20:14

But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars--they will be consigned to the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death.
Rev 21:8

Keep in mind, there is no condemnation for those in Christ Jesus. We have been washed clean through faith in the righteous blood of Jesus Christ, shed on our behalf, out of His great love for us, that we may attain to life ever after.
