Life is full of assumptions, but the most important one is faith in Christ.
If people cannot follow Christ in a real way, they are no longer Christians.

Our foundation is Christ and His way empowered by love. Find it and find life.
Faith in Christ is just an assumption you say?

That is not faith....no wonder you peddle works......tragic!

IT'S AMAZING HOW LONG THIS THREAD HAS BEEN RUNNING BUT UNTIL NOW YOU COULDN'T SHOW EVEN A SINGLE VERSE THAT SAYS THAT "FAITH ALONE SAVES" & "ONCE SAVED ALWAYS SAVED."

"New International Version 1984 Mark 7:7 They worship me in vain; their teachings are but rules taught by men.’

New International Version 1984 1 John 4:1 Test the Spirits Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.
Sure I have, so have numerous people that have posted....not my fault your blinded by your works and self righteous, self saving belief......go read every response again, you may learn something....if you exercise faith!

Can you show us a single verse that specifically says we are "saved by works" or that a really "saved" person really "lost their salvation?"
NOT one...but we can post numerous that show it is not by works of righteousness.....and verses that show if you add faith and works for salvation your a fool.....etc......

Only God who looks on the heart can make that determination about who is actually born-again. They can be born-again and just deceived by religious teachings and thus these teachings have produced a stronghold in their minds.

I think all of us are legalistic in some form or other but I know what you are saying. There are those that have not been born-again and think they can mimic the Christian life by doing their good, righteous deeds and thus be ok.
Just a question bros, doesn't your bible teach you to do good? If it is otherwise then I suggest that you throw away that book. The bible teaches us to practice our faith thru obedience to God's commands & accdg to His holy will .Would you not expel an immoral, greedy & wicked brother from your congregation just because you believe that he is saved by faith alone & he is forever saved no matter what he does?

Sorry bro but the Gospel talks of " faith without works is dead."(james2:17-26)

21st Century King James Version Galatians 5:6 For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth anything, nor uncircumcision, but faith which worketh by love.

21st Century King James Version 2 Peter 2:21-22 For it would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they had known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them. But it has happened unto them according to the true proverb: “The dog turns to his own vomit again,” and, “the sow that was washed, to her wallowing in the mire.”

21st Century King James Version Hebrews 6:4-6 For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost, and have tasted the good Word of God and the powers of the world to come, if they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance, seeing that they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh and put Him to open shame.
It is painfully clear that you neither understand nor acknowledge context......By your approach we can rightfully surmise that the serpent was right and we can be like God by eating of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.........

Mr. Twisty.........!

Does this come from yourself, your work of faith?

Or Christ?
The workers for.......do just that....work for......NOTHING that is.....but to be separated and told to depart....why....LORD, LORD, did we not do many wonderful works in your name...........

The rest is history.....!

Nobody denies that the bible teaches to do right......We rightfully and biblically oppose believing that it has anything to do with gaining and or keeping the salvation that is found in Christ and faith ALONE!

The gospel is the "good news" of the death, burial and resurrection of Christ (1 Corinthians 15:1-4) and is the power of God unto salvation for everyone who BELIEVES.. (Romans 1:16).

The gospel is not a set of rituals to perform, a code of laws to be obeyed or a check list of good works to accomplish as a prerequisite for salvation. The gospel simply sets forth Christ crucified, buried and risen as the Savior of all who believe/trust in His finished work of redemption as the ALL-sufficient means of their salvation.
Accurately described as the SIMPLICITY THAT IS FOUND IN CHRIST JESUS!

I suppose we should be thankful that there are at least a few that understand.
Jesus said that straight and narrow is the way and FEW there be that find it....

HE also said MANY (plenteous in number) will be the amount that comes before him boasting of their works as part of the ticket to enter his kingdom...ONLY TO BE CAST!

I once heard a guy say that he was a missionary. Another man asked him "To whom" He answered..." I am a missionary to Christians - trying to get them to actually believe what the Lord has done for them".
The irony of that truth!!

I am amazed at the amount of people who think they can stand before God and tell him the reason they deserve heaven is because they obeyed him.

They will not be laughing at grace then.. They will be wishing they had recieved grace, and stopped trying to earn it.
They will be begging....reminding him of ALL the wonderful works they have done in his name....only to be cast....

EXACTLY why PAUL dia INSPIRATION called them fools....attempting to mix faith and works to gain and or keep salvation!

I think most of these people are born-again and are joined as one spirit with the Lord. - it's just that religious teachings have clouded their minds from seeing the glorious light of what Christ has really done in His finished work. Religious traditions are the strongest mindset of strongholds in our minds. We al have them in some degree.

it is so important to preach the love and grace of Christ and Him crucified in order for all of us to walk in what He has done for us. We need to be fed the proper nutrients in order to grow up or we just end up with a religion of Christianity which uses the same terminology like Jesus, God, scriptures, Holy Spirit...etc.

I don't believe that.....obviously that is between God and them, but we can rightfully judge their false gospel...

PAUL said FAITH + works = a false gospel of a different kind with no power to save and double cursed.......

if the root is corrupt the whole tree is corrupt......

a man who mixes faith and works has not trusted Christ.....hence the many that will be cast boasting of their works in his name.....HE SAID...I NEVER KNEW YOU........

There is a big difference between being legalistic in thought, and questioning things, Like how cna God love me,, or I can do this or that because of whatever, And saying we must work to earn salvation.

One who has no faith in God. but chooses to trust in self is not born again,
I agree and to mix faith and works to gain or keep it is a gospel of a different kind with no power to save and double cursed......

Agreed! This is why Scripture rejects the ideology that God looked down through time, saw who would choose Him, then chose them based on what they would do (which is absurd foolishness and isn't Grace at all).

This is why I reject it as well, it's false doctrine. :)

God knows over time who will accept Him. And they are called, because all are called
but few respond. And of those who respond even fewer follow.

This is not doctrine, this is actually life. It sounds like you cannot distinguish between
what we know and what we believe.

This may sound pretentious, but everything is an assumption. Nothing is provable,
because all your and mine experiences are filtered through our heads and presented
to our conscious selves as a processed understanding. So we assume that we have
perceived everything correctly.

But sadly you have not yet perceived this reality, and how it constrains all of our
faith experiences. This is obvious from your response.

And I do not peddle anything, I am interested in truth and Christ and love to share
and talk about the bible and our shared experiences.

But you desire antagonism and attempted condescension, which back fires if you get
the points wrong, sorry. The Lord does love both of us, and desires that we might be
brothers in fellowship with Him. Do you understand this love I am talking about?

See...par for the course with you...notice the verbiage used as opposed to your embellishment.....

New American Standard Bible
"For many are called, but few are chosen."

King James Bible
For many are called, but few are chosen.

Bible-->MANY are called, but few chosen

YOU-->ALL are CALLED, but few respond

You're not even remotely biblical here. You're preaching tradition, not Scriptural doctrine and placing experience above truth ("this is not doctrine this is actually life").

Sorry to inform you fella, but God's revealed truth comes first, not last, and never after any false personal experience of which you are basing your faith instead of the Word.

God doesn't call based upon anything a person does, either good or bad, and He doesn't choose based on man making the first move: James 1:18; John 1:13, Romans 9:11ff, Ephesians 1:4ff; 1 Thessalonians 1:4; 1 Peter 1:1ff.

But then again I'm engaging with one who preaches the Christ of God didn't do enough to save us and who is blinded by the heresies of synergism. You spend many hours per day on here, there is no way you actually study and learn from your own errors, which are many and remarkable.

Nevertheless, Soli Deo Gloria! :)

Do you know what love is? Can you love me as a brother, or even as an enemy?
Can you be in my shoes and understand how your inconsistent sharing comes across?

Do you know repressed emotion is destructive to the soul and heart, and cuts us off
from experiencing ourselves and Gods heart?

I have wondered how the language is so stilted because it is devoid of good relationship,
praise, joy, life, uplifting things, things that are good to think about, worth of mention.

When Jesus embraces me, in love and joy, it truly lifts my heart. To spend time in His
word refreshes my soul like clear clean water. To which I say Amen.
