i think anyone who calls themself a prophet could not possibly have an understanding of the bible...have they not read what it says about those ones who claim to be prophets??matt7:15-20....besides that use your logic and think is there any need for a prophet today?everything that we need to know up to the end of this system?
I'm SDA, and I think that she is a prophet. If you read her works they are sensible and make sense about living your life.
SDA hold the Bible as the absolute truth. But they do consider Ellen White to be a person of great influence that is some who came up with a great structure for living your life.
I think that Ellen White was a prophet of God that had visions that led her to write what she had seen.

Ellen White didn't claim to be a prophet although it is obvious she was. God revealed many things to us through her - including that the banks would go bust before the end comes. Take into consideration that she lived roughly 100 years ago. She also told us that smoking was unhealthy well before this was known.
please follow the links & btw this isnt the first time financial crises has hit. I could state that a car accident is going to happen on the #1 out of vancouver and 12 will die and eventually given enough time that will happen. As far as the smoking thing goes, are you kidding me? I'm sure many people would have stated that at that time... Its like those who state getting immunized isnt good... perhaps one day that will be proven... or not. Wouldnt actually verify them as a prophet.
no sda consider the bible as part truth then their prophet gave them the rest of the truth in the book of mormans. they believe that Jesus was a prophet and a good man But no Sda will confess that Jesus is God you will not get to to speak that Jesus is God, it will defile the book of morman if they do, so they can't hold the bible as absolute truth for the Bible says This is God speaking you can go back to the first verse to find out

let me show you a little common sense here if either Jesus was a good prophet or a blasphemer For He claim to be God
Re 1:8I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.
Re 1:17And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying unto me, Fear not; I am the first and the last:Re 1:18I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.
if Alpha and omega was the Almighty, then this is red letter meaning Jesus was saying this. then in verse 18 the almighty was dead , when did God die , when he was on the cross , so if he is not God then he is not a good prophet, but a blasphemer, so the sda and all u claim that he is not God are following the teaching of a false prophet , but if he is God as I and many others believe Now he is back to being a good prophet and God. either Hew is God and a good prophet or he is not God but rather a blasphemer you can't have it both ways as the sda try to. when you ask a sda if Jesus is God they will nodd their head yes, but then you say well if you believe that then speak( confess) it by speaking that Jesus is God , they will not, don't take my word for it try it and see . if they confess that Jesus is God they defile their own book of morman and a true sda will not defile their own book

Ellen G. White has over 60 books to her credit. Some insist that much of what bears her name was plagarized from other works. Copyright laws were not what they are today.
She is the chief architect of bringing the Sabbath Day and Food Laws into the Adventist movement. She took them further than the OT food laws to encouraging vegetarianism. A very large percentage of SDA are vegetarians.
Historical Protestantism and Evangelicalism has typically cast the SDA as a cult not unlike the Mormons and Jehovah Wtinesses.
