sorry

I don't want to get in between people, but how on earth do you see his post as judging?
I don't. I was stating that what he said about people telling others they don't have enough faith is judging. Thinking about the scripture that says if we do confront anyone about anything...do it in a spirit of meekness.

Not enough words in my post I guess.

The key difference between WoF and the gospel for me is this:
-- WoF is all about what you can coerse out of God. It's a gimme-gimme-gimme gospel.
-- The gospel is all about God. Our hearts become (as in this is the fight of our lives) more toward his will than wanting to get what we can get out of him.

Healing? Since the Pharaoh's magicians could do the same thing God did through Moses (like making the Nile red like blood -- no mere parlor trick), I suspect WoF folks might be able to heal someone of a health problem here and there. But we want God's healing -- the one where our sins are forgiven and we become more like what he wants us to be because we like being like that. He can, and does, heal, but that's not the goal. Nice side effect when it happens, (like best-present-ever feeling to it), but not the goal.
I was taught that His will is His Word Lynn. And true humility is to bend our self into it. Make sense? Its hard for me to express.

This just came to mind too...His promises are yes and amen.

I think they may be in a soul or flesh.

there is this interesting verse though

Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you entirely; and may your spirit and soul and body be preserved complete, without blame at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

I Thess.5:23

they may also just be hanging around making life difficult. they may be in people you work with or even are married to

starts to paint a picture of taking warnings in scripture to be aware of these things as serious business
If you ever want to read a post of 1000 pages and up, ask me what I think of the dichotomy or trichotomy of Man means. I really don't get spirit, soul, and/or body. Sort of like dividing the hand up by the fingers. Fingers are part of the hand, so how can you divide them from hand?

I consider that the html/Photoshop lessons for my Christian walk. (Two other things I tried to understand but couldn't. And I was driving myself nuts trying to understand them, until I gave up understanding them. lol)

He never promised to heal everyone of their health problems though. He did promise to heal some of us from our sinful nature.

That is your faith. I have yet to see this though in the Word. And it's the Word that persuades not men.

Actually, Lauren left a month or two ago, and then returned. She was someone else before that. (Can't remember that username either), so she is kind of like me -- knows it's time to go, but not very good at staying gone. lol
I always enjoyed her wit.

In an open forum, not sure how to do the "private" part, but I wash my hands of it and will instead focus on talking to my brothers and sisters.

Matthew 18:15-17
"If your brother sins, go and show him his fault in private; if he listens to you, you have won your brother. "But if he does not listen to you, take one or two more with you, so that BY THE MOUTH OF TWO OR THREE WITNESSES EVERY FACT MAY BE CONFIRMED. "If he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the church; and if he refuses to listen even to the church, let him be to you as a Gentile and a tax collector.
He refused to answer your questions. He was messing with you.

How do you believe that? (aka proof?) I've known at least two people who were saved and yet possessed. (May have known more, but who can tell that often what that is?)
It's in the Bible.

How do you know that the person is 1. Saved 2. Demon possessed?

Many people just repeat what demons whisper to them without using discernment. Others believe that their dreams are true when the demons take the image of someone they know.

I wouldn't call either of those demonic possession. It is demonic oppression but there is a difference.

Possession means the demon takes total control of their body and the person's personality is not there at all.

I will find the Bible verses after i catch up on my reading, and yes I realize the best solution is for everyone to read the Bible themselves.

However I read the Bible all the way through 3 times before accepting Jesus as my savior and during that time the spiritual war around me was fierce.

I heard voices telling me what it meant and lots of lies and false doctrine and then people coming up to me and repeating the lies and doctrines.

I might not know everything, but I know the basics.

1. God's grace is free, you can't earn it or work for it.
2. We are all sinners in need of a savior
3. Jesus died on the cross for MY sins because He loves me (took me a while to believe this one because I felt unloveable)

There is more but it's basic.

So I know that the Holy Spirit protects people from demonic possession because God revealed this truth to me through scripture and affirming it within my own heart and life.

Sometimes we get lost and need a brother or sister to help us back home.

You never know until you try,

I have to do chores and spend time with family, but found this article to add to the discussion.

https://www.gty.org/library/questions/QA191/can-christians-be-demonpossessed

.
The collective teaching of Scripture is that demons can never spatially indwell a true believer. A clear implication of 2 Corinthians 6, for example, is that the indwelling Holy Spirit could never cohabit with demons:

What harmony has Christ with Belial, or what has a believer in common with an unbeliever? Or what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For we are the temple of the living God; just as God said, “I will dwell in them and walk among them; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people” (vv. 15–16).

In Colossians 1:13, Paul says God “delivered us from the domain of darkness, and transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved Son.” Salvation brings true deliverance and protection from Satan. In Romans 8:37, Paul says we overwhelmingly conquer through Christ. In 1 Corinthians 15:57, he says God gives us the victory. In 2 Corinthians 2:14, he says God always leads us in triumph. In 1 John 2:13, John says we have overcome the evil one. And, in 4:4, he says the indwelling Holy Spirit is greater than Satan. How could anyone affirm those glorious truths, yet believe demons can indwell genuine believers?.

Not that either. (Under my list of stuff I don't get. Have I ever mentioned it's a long list? lol)

I don't even see Jesus coming into my heart as something in the bible. Completely lost with the "invite Jesus into your heart" evangelical concept.

(I'm a hard nut to crack, ain't I? But don't worry. I am fully aware I am a nut. lol)

Ummm, I already proved it in the Word. Jesus healed one man at the healing pool. Not everyone at the healing pool.

(My faith? My faith didn't believe God would heal me until he did. I truly appreciate the tiny size of the mustard seed.)

Don't worry, since I made that comment, I've washed dishes, cut my hair and cleared out a closet. I really do get life preempts time on here. (Still have to do trash and take a shower.) Enjoy grandson time.

could also have been my sleep deprived mind haha

mixed it up, get it now

I've been told I don't have enough faith by word of faithers too

if you don't understand the departure from the actual gospel, it hits you and people get very discouraged
