I think we all owe Joel an apology

Not only Benny Hinn and Steve Lawson who misrepresented Joel as well
No apology forthcoming.

Not so fast - they never got to the portion in the video that Dr. Lawson quoted in context. Clearly what Osteen said there was a cop out and false teaching. There was also the mysticism that if people are good, they'r going to heaven. The video conveniently left those parts out, so to make a conclusion on the convenient parts presented is premature. As far as Benny Hinn, I don't listen to that guy.

I think, since you edited your post, that it is premature for you to conclude an apology is owed given not listening to the conversation. Is that fair?

I don't agree with what is in the OP and for the below reasons. But people are allowed to believe what they choose.
Sure, just as they're "allowed" to go to hell for what they believe. Doncha think it's important to notify people of the consequences for their "allowed" beliefs?

Some people have been beat up in life for so long that they need encouragement to get back up and start having hope again.
And why have they been beaten up? Because they have been brainwashed into the world's mantra of "You can do it," and see the reality of "No, I can't," but they cannot say that to most people. They can't say that to most people because most people are brainwashed with the same bull mantra!

Encouragement -- tell the truth! What is more encouraging than finding out someone else gets we cannot? None of us can! Only God can so take it to God.

You and I are the same age. We grew up on "Love! Peace! Freedom! Happiness!" What became of those preaching that junk? Oh yeah! They got the destitution, the wasted lives, the back stabbing, the diseases, death with no hope, and the trap of that! We grew up in what that brings.
-- JFK
-- MLK
-- RFK
-- Janis
-- Jimmi
-- Jim Morrison
-- Wasted stats on the Nightly News for soldiers who died to save others, just to have Congress make it all a farce of that sacrifice!

We grew up with "love one another" without Christ in the picture for that love, and look what it got those who believed in it. Massive degradation of the mind, soul, and spirit. Hopelessness!

Encouragement -- Christ! NOT Aquarius! Anything short of Christ is just as much BS as what we grew up with!!!

God saves! Christ saves! "I don't know" does NOT save. New Age does not save. (It does need a better name though, because Trump grew up on New Age. lol) "Love" (without God), does not save. God saves! God gives us hope, encouragement, real love, real peace. There is no way else to spin this!

Osteen promotes covetousness, being lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God. Keep in mind covetousness in the NT is also _________. And that is what Osteen is promoting, covetousness, which is _________, self-centeredness, and materialism in the name of God:

And I saw Larry King trying his best to get Joel to alienate an entire audience of Jews. Doing everything he could to turn off an entire lost Religion to Christianity. That's not how Paul preached at Athens.
And you dismiss the reality that Olsteen knew what would happen on that show and yet couldn't come up with a true answer before he went?

Honestly? We actually have an instruction manual with examples of how to deal with people who are going to try to prove their point over what God says. Jesus confronted at least five different people with the same silly questions. (That's how Jesus preached in Judah, the heart of Judaism.) We can verbatim the examples if needed. All we have to know is the gospels. Don't even need to get into the rest of the NT or OT. And yet, Olsteen, who purports to be a Christian pastor just didn't know?

If the Bible is our schooling, then Olsteen failed kindergarten!

AND.....more heresy and foolishness of the Osteen doctrine. This time from his wife:

Anyone who believes these people are preaching truth "and encouragement" need some schooling in discernment and need to get into their Bibles and sound doctrine. Maybe not so much posting online, like, actually study sound doctrine? Once you get this (in time) you can relate to Hebrews 5:11-14 and discern how utterly evil and unbiblical THEIR teachings are.

what is really going on here, is the op saying HIS truth is truth and he will prove it by calling others heretics or blasphemers or false teachers/prophets

why is it so twiddle dee dee difficult to post threads that are GOOD and have something GOOD to say

the model here seems to be 'let's rip apart everyone in order to prove how aw gee whiz shucks perfect we are'

some call Joel Osteen 'gospel light' and maybe he is, but how is constant negative so called preaching and teaching glorifying God? I've noticed if you try to have a thread here that has give and take in it, actual discussion in it, it will be attacked and taken off course so far that you need a map of the galaxies to bring it back

can anyone say something good about Joel for a change? if you are jealous of his white teeth, may I suggest Crest 3Dwhite or even a dentist who will make an impression of your teeth and give you some peroxide gel to put in the tray and you can slap it on your chompers and they should come out whiter

before I became aware of what some 'hard core' (cough cough) Christians think about Joel, I actually found him encouraging during a time in my life some years back, when that was just what I needed. I was already suffering because of all the helpful Christians who try to rip out your eyes to get what they think is a log while whacking you every time they turn around, with the sequoia sticking out of their own eyes

I can almost predict who is going to jump on what thread and say the same things they say on every thread

sharpen your knives cause it's like dessert to some of you
Did someone say dessert?
horsey.jpg

(And, nope. I can't think of anything good to say about Olsteen. It happens when fake gospel tries to replace real gospel and the country thinks fake gospel is Christianity.)

...and no more of the one described in the video. Heretic ear scratchers like the one referred to in the video need exposed and rebuked, and others need to be warned of them.

I hope many of you appreciate this short clip:

I agree that I prefer his wife as a preacher.

I believe that it is humble to admit that we don't know things and that God says we are not to judge people before their time.

I believe God can pull His people out of any false religion into His truth.

Perhaps he doesn't clearly see the lies in the other religions and can't see how they harm and enslave their people. I would not condemn him for it but show him how they can be good moral people, doing works that appear good to us humans but still in need of the Gospel and a true understanding of who God really is.

I also believe that many claim to be Christians but are not born again or lead by the Holy Spirit.

God can judge the hearts of His people and know who is lead by Him and who just mouth the words.

We need more men proclaiming the gospel, but sadly all I see is the OP exciting a witch hunt via a YouTube video with no clear stating of the gospel in his post at all.

Not only Benny Hinn and Steve Lawson
I don't have the energy to listen to the actual conversation but we should if we think to offer our opinions

it's a lesson and a reminder
I'm really not into listening to videos. Truth be known, I have headphones, but sound often bothers me. And, honestly? Lawson is loud, so that did bother me, but short enough that I could listen. And Hinn? I trust Olsteen more than Hinn. (Ooo, oo! Seven, does that count as something positive about Olsteen?)

That said to clearly state, no apology needed nor forthcoming. Olsteen is the one who should apologize! He claims to be a preacher yet can't even preach the gospel message? He doesn't know it?

Yikes! If you went in for surgery, and your surgeon didn't know how, but tried his best, do you think you should apologize to him, if you survive the surgery? If you too were a surgeon and found out that happened, do you think you should apologize to the incompetent surgeon too?

I agree we should say we don't know if we don't know. Can you tell me if Jews, Muslims, or Buddhist are going to heaven if they're still attached to their beliefs over the true God? Don't you think a preacher should know that? Don't your kids know that?

This is Christianity 101, first day of Kindergarten kind of stuff.

How you approach people of different religions depends on what that person believes.

You have to help them separate the truth from the lies. All religions have a mixture of truth and lies or they wouldn't deceive so many people for so long.

Most major religions preach the Law and have a different way to be saved. Some even have a different goal. Some even promise their people they can become like God and rule their own little empire/planet/harem.

You have to learn what lies enslave a person so you can give them the Biblical truth.

One of the first steps is to get them to accept that God spoke to humanity through the Bible and show how the Bible speaks of Jesus and His salvation plan for us.

At least for me it was.

It might be different for others.

The OP wasn't intended to be an exhaustive presentation of the Gospel. The intent was in the description, try to pay better attention and stay on topic. It also follows the pattern of 2 Timothy 3 and 4. If you want to present the Gospel, then go for it.

And the hilarious thing? I am giving a video that clearly rebukes a false teacher, and your post is attempting to rebuke me for, well, offering a rebuke of a false teacher. LOL!!!!!

Maybe get the log out of your eye? Thanks. :)

Yup, better the gospel of the heavenly lottery and a God that tortures his children with sickness to keep them humble.

People are allowed to have their own opinions but to slander people that have a different ministry then what they or others do is not wise and is in fact IMO - causing strife and division amongst us.

Some just twist what others are saying to make it "appear" to be something totally different and mis-represent what is really being said. Some things are just a disagreement in a certain doctrine so then they feel free to slander them now. Some is just outright malice towards others but God who knows our hearts will deal with that kind of stuff in all of us.

This principle below remains true even though it is talking about the various doctrines of eating, observing certain days, feasts..etc. They are all doctrines or teachings.

Romans 14:4 (NASB)
[SUP]4 [/SUP] Who are you to judge the servant of another? To his own master he stands or falls; and he will stand, for the Lord is able to make him stand.

Romans 2:14 ►
Verse (Click for Chapter)
New International Version
(Indeed, when Gentiles, who do not have the law, do by nature things required by the law, they are a law for themselves, even though they do not have the law.

They show that the requirements of the law are written on their hearts, their consciences also bearing witness, and their thoughts sometimes accusing them and at other times even defending them.)

I believe that God is the ultimate judge and God tells us to judge ourselves and those within the Body of Christ and leave the rest to Him.

People are allowed to have their own opinions but to slander people

You use the word slander often, and accuse others of it many times per day sir. Slander is to lie, and there is no lying going on here. The fact is you're an Osteenite due to a lack of Hebrews 5:11-14 discernment, and you don't want anyone exposing you or Osteen. Osteen preaches covetousness and he is the epitome of the warning Paul gave in 2 Timothy 3, and you're following him anyhow because you want more things, and religion is about YOU which is why you like Osteens teachings - it is about you and you feeling comfy and good about yourself.

Your video was rebuking Joel for not proclaiming the gospel.

I was pointing out that the same rebuke could be applied to you, because you don't proclaim the gospel either.

Have fun with your witch hunting, but by all means avoid mirrors or you might actually see or hurt yourself.

Um, Paul is showing in chapter 2 of Romans that no one does those things, and does away with anyone being able to or being good in chapter 3, and then concludes all are lost, Jew and Gentile.

That being said you're misapplying Scripture. Learn some 2 Timothy 2:15.

You are preaching in essence by misapplying this passage is saying people can get to heaven on their own merit. Clearly you don't understand Paul's argument in Romans 2.

A few lies from Ariel:

Your video was rebuking Joel for not proclaiming the gospel.
lolzzzz...nothing in the OP said a thing about the Gospel, you're way off track and now are making false accusations:

I was pointing out that the same rebuke could be applied to you, because you don't proclaim the gospel either.
The above is a totally fabricated lie, and is unfounded. THAT is what is called slander Grace777.

Have fun with your witch hunting, but by all means avoid mirrors or you might actually see or hurt yourself.
Try reading Scripture for a change, maybe you'll get sound in doctrine. 2 Timothy 3 and 4 maybe? Matthew 7 maybe? Perhaps Christ and Paul were on a witch hunt too, lol!

You are right about that

I am ashamed of myself for not asking for the source material confirming what Lawson said was indeed what Joel said

I am also ashamed at his this Benny man behaved

I also want to remind that our suspicion of others is what happened during the time of Elisha

it is a good reminder for all of us to just pray for one another and not to have a part with those who say "will you go up with me to Ramoth Gilead"

thinking ouselves in service to GOD to right an offense (so we suppose) against GOD when we were told specifically not to uproot Not to break faith with one another but to avenge what is not in our right to avenge
