WHY did Jesus have to die if even people in the Old Testament were saved by FAITH.

The same reason he died for you and I....to pay our SIN debt so HIS righteousness can be applied by faith and REDEEM us to GOD.....ALL planned before the casting down of the world.....

If you were standing at the gates of heaven right now and the Lord Jesus Christ asked you why He should let you into heaven, what would be your EXACT answer? This is not a trick question. The answer to this question demonstrates what people are trusting in for salvation.

Abraham looked forward to the Atonement of Jesus .. We look back to the Atonement of Jesus.. The Atonement of Jesus saves all who have had faith in God and all who shall have faith in God.. In the past or into the future is matters not.. At one time Jesus paid the price of the sin of all who believed God and trusted in His Word..

because I confessed with my mouth that you are my lord and believed in my heart you died and rose again for my sin and I placed my trust in you.

Why didn't God just forgive everybody?

If FAITH saved people in the O.T. (Hebrews 11) WHY did Jesus have to die on the cross?

My answer, "because through faith, I trust in YOU alone as the ALL-sufficient means of my salvation."

Answers I would NOT give Jesus:

Because I was a good person, I never killed anyone, I performed many wonderful works, I was water baptized, I attended church regularly, etc.. etc..

Because i believe You and trust in the Atonement You secured by Your death and reasurection for the forgivness of all my sins..

He DID forgive everybody. Though it was upon the cross that He forgave, but He died not only for the sins of people back then, but also for the future generations to come (us). :)

Because I acknowledged you by faith according to your word and promise to save all who believe while confessing I was a sinner in need of your mercy and grace.

Your right, God knew Jesus was good to go, He could pay the price for sin anywhere.
And why even pay a price? A volcano does more damage than sin, so what is there to
put right?

Why did Jesus die in Jerusalem at the hands of the teachers of the law?
According to some just faith in Jesus saves, get your ticket here, free ride to
heaven express 1st class with food...
