John 6:28-33


Then they said to Him, “What shall we do, that we may work the works of God?”


Jesus answered and said to them, “This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He sent.”


Therefore they said to Him, “What sign will You perform then, that we may see it and believe You? What work will You do? Our fathers ate the manna in the desert; as it is written, ‘He gave them bread from heaven to eat.’ ”


Then Jesus said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, Moses did not give you the bread from heaven, but My Father gives you the true bread from heaven.

For the bread of God is He who comes down from heaven and gives life to the world.”


work of God. Believing in Jesus Christ is the indispensable “work” God calls for—the one that leads to eternal life

" It is not (works) but one work, that is required, a faith that would enable them to lay hold upon him who is the Bread of Life.
From such faith would spring a Christlike life.

Then it's back to hell for you then. Whew...this keeping oneself saved is a lot of work!

What if you missed confessing one sin? What if the plate hits you - you cuss then die? My goodness they had it better under the Old Covenant...:cool:

See...the problem is two fold....

a. NO ONE argues that works will be present in some form or fashion.<--which the "cake takers" and workers for SAY THAT WE ARGUE against.
b. Works are the result of the faith and salvation one ALREADY possesses....nor do they ADD to or facilitate and or KEEP salvation

NOW.....have some more cake ;)

I thought about apologing for filling your thread with cake fighting. But I can't because I am completely unrepentant.

I know I am blessed with getting away with a lot because y'all love me like that annoying little sister that followed you around and keeps asking.
