Did I ever say he was? I think you are the one who implied that.

Peter would be quick to condemn these people and their teaching. Anyone with an iota of discernment or biblical knowledge can see their heresy.
No, you see what you are taught to see

We have had a lot of experiences in the body. We heard RHB, in person at a conference state that he learned "holy laughter" from none other than Kenneth "Dad" hagin", who said he learned it from Mom & Pop Goodwin. RHB went onto to say Hagin tuaght him exclusively how to manifest this Joy of the Lord on queue.

We stayed and it was like watching a magician, illusionist, hypnotist weave a spell using certain words through power of suggestion. Your joy is now complete! Joy is bubbling inside of your minds! Let your spirit go free and let Joy fill your mind!
He used 12-15 phrases and always used the term mind. Hypnotists will tell you that to gain control over a persons mind, you use 12-15 hot words and always say mind.

After using power of suggestion he snapped his fingers and said Holy Ghost let it be! On that queue everyone started laughing. It then escalated into some making animal sounds and some men grabbing their wives in compromising positions while fully clothed and cackling and hysteria but not brought on by the Holy Spirit.

Out of 1,000 people about 30 of us were unaffected by this. One man begin walking up to those engaged in "holy laughter" and simply said, In the name of Jesus of Nazareth, come off of them and the people stopped and then begin crying and petitioning the Lord for forgiveness for committing blasphemy or asking those of us not affected to pray for them. We begin ministering and taking authority in the name of Jesus and after 20 minutes were approached by a group of men in suits[RHB pastors] and event security and they forced us to leave.

There is a joy of the Lord but it is not manifested with 1,000 people laughing uncontrollably and manifesting all at once. I have ministered to people and see them go from complete messes before the Holy Spirit and then smile and laugh and chuckle and the joy of the lord come over them, but it is always combined with the peace that passes understanding.
All Indians walk in a straight line and chew bubblegum while they walk.

I know this for a fact because one time I actually saw this!!!

Not to be impolite an bud in ,but I guess I will .
we also must keep this in mind.
Mathew 7:21“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.22 On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’23 And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’
Its a reminder about who we serve and how we should serve a Holy God !
Blessings

This is equally applied to people like John MacArthur who will also give an account to Jesus one day for syaing , yeah that Holy Spirit, I put him in such a tight box, he never moved in my ministry, look what I did Jesus, I was defending your faith...I did good, right?

I myself am a product of the charismatic renewal.

I traveled to attend 3 major revivals.
Times Square church early nineties
Rodney Howard Brown mid nineties
Brownsville late nineties

I never believed any of them until I went and dove in.

In fact, when told of the Holy Laughter I was ABSOLUTELY SURE it was some people looking for attention.

Was I ever wrong. It was awesome. So disarming and marvelous to be in such anointing.

When I got "hit",I was laughing and crying at the same time!!!

To this day,I have never heard of that happening to anyone.

It was many things in one. Deliverance, refreshing,Infilling, renewal, and what life and virtue to allow such I filling into one's being

my younger brother, his wife and myself went a few times to Times Square some years ago

I tell you, David Wilkerson could put a straight face on people quicker than you could say the words

I remember one time, as he was preaching, I just turned around in my seat, got on my knees and started praying ~ in the spirit

people everywhere were wanting to get 'right' with God. it wasn't condemnation, it was conviction

I left feeling refreshed and not guilty. I would say that is an indication the Holy Spirit was working on people

and yet some here will say that charismatics or those who believe in the gifts are saying sin is ok

you know what? people condemn ~ the Holy Spirit corrects!

ha

I was looking at some of that stuff yesterday

there is no defense for MacArthur. he is really just as 'out there' as the people being accused in the videos posted by the anti-gifts crowd

satan's tactics are always to distort what God has created

you mention the malice and slander in some of the posts here; the opposite of love. need I say more?

I'm not Pentecostal nor charismatic. I don't agree with the 'anything goes' mentality of some but if we are going to be honest around here, then we need to take a look at what MacArthur and the religious right teach because as you have pointed out, he is as far wrong the other way as some in the videos are

MacArthur has many false teachings and yet he is put on a pedestal by those who have fallen for his unbiblical doctrines

the posts are tactics designed to intimidate and bully. they do neither. they just reveal a hardness of heart

I do not follow Joyce Meyer or her teachings, continually baiting me and badgering me with your opinion is going to go nowhere.
Jut because you think she is a heretic, does not mean I do, especially since I have never heard her speak or teach.

I do not make opinions based on people posting videos and comments with agendas and motives based on their own version of the truth.

My comments on MacArthur & Rodney Howard Brown are based on actual experience and exposure to each man, not based on agreement with someone with a religious axe to grind or doctrine based agenda that bullies & controls people into conforming to their own view of the truth.

Bullying and controlling people to see your own version of the truth is spiritual witchcraft.

I saw a edited clip of pat Robertson one time

The clip Pat said concerning muslims "..they should have their heads chopped off.."

It was taken from his statement that " IF I WERE A DEVOUT MUSLIM,I WOULD SAY......"

But you see,the media, the world, hate Christians,so they seek to malign.

We see thread after thread of pharisees with their edited old you tube clips.

What are they doing????

The same "job" the world has............maligning the body of Christ
Its true that clips can be manipulated to say things the person never meant and people could have repented of their false doctrines, because God works daily on people's hearts and minds.

However, if it bothers you this much, I suggest researching each person mentioned in the video and see if you would want your kids attending their church.

I know there are some I would warn my kids against.

Yesterday at a girl scout meeting I asked a second grader "what should and shouldn't you do around a fire?"

When I mention not taking a burning stick and swinging it around like a glow stick she looked horrified and said "no someone could get hurt"

.however I used that example because I had to explain to a group of cubscouts why they needed to stop doing that.

I look at that video horrified and think "someone could get hurt" seriously hurt spiritually.

The thread I had about cults, I defined it as a group that seeks to replace God and take his spiritual authority for themselves in the lives of their cult members.

Some of the churches mentioned in that video, aren't churchs of God, but cults that worship their preacher.

Maybe not all, but you have to do the research and see.

I made the comment because you can be against this type of manifestation in the "church" and still believe that the gifts of the Holy Spirit are for today.

***sidenote: my comments are based on the video and only a select few responses I can read or click "view post" on. So I probably missed over half the conversation.

I just wanted to point out the end of the video, in case anyone didn't bother listening to it all the way,

My I you
No ones bullied you but that was fun to read especially since it asserted statements and insinuations I've never made.

I still await your documentation or you will remain a slanderer. How about that? Or, clear up your accusations and its all good?

For the record, I never presented her teachings, as you've asserted.

I asked you for documentation.

That you went on this rant is inane when nothing of the sort happened.

Documentation.

Spare me the drivel and ad hominem.

Just document your assertions.

That's all, spare me the drivel and asinine comparisons of how you're lead by the Holy Spirit and others aren't. I don't think I could have been more clear.

Thanks in advance.

Totally agree. That's why I would red flag these type of "preachers" seems more like a magic trick or hypnosis than the Holy Spirit.

As I tell the kids, it's not a good idea to take a burning stick and swing around in the air even if it looks "neat".

Unlike you, I think for myself and let the Holy Spirit help me discern right and wrong teaching. I will not be bullied by someone like you, to give an opinion on something they think is not truth or the context they present, when I have no idea what that person teaches, because I do not follow her.

Your asking me for an opinion based on your view or the "context" you present. If I do not follow her or know her teachings, how can I compare that with what you are presenting. You see friend, you want me to give a one-sided opinion you alone are presenting. Unlike you, I do not follow herd mentality and form a dogma. I form opinion on teachers based on being led by the Holy Spirit and hearing and absorbing them. Listening to a one-sided video presented by some I disagree with theologically does not make me a heretic, it makes me wise.

My opinion on MacArthur is based on several things he teaches which are in error with the word. This is because at one point I was what you are.
Yeah and I pray more people learn that type of wisdom.

1 Corinthians 2King James Version (KJV)

2 And I, brethren, when I came to you, came not with excellency of speech or of wisdom, declaring unto you the testimony of God.
2 For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified.
3 And I was with you in weakness, and in fear, and in much trembling.
4 And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power:
5 That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.
6 Howbeit we speak wisdom among them that are perfect: yet not the wisdom of this world, nor of the princes of this world, that come to nought:
7 But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory:
8 Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.
9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.
10 But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.
11 For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.
12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.
13 Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.
14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.
15 But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man.

It might have been different from you friend, but that was enough for me to stay way from him. I have seen this pattern with others. I do not judge RHB, it was our opinion and what we felt the spirit led us away from.

Your leading an experience is yours and different, I do not break fellowship with others based on that.

Hi Popeye, Yes they all say the same thing, I did not believe UNTIL I experienced it. Dumb, dumb, dumb, there is an anointing not of God, just because you get a high from a spiritual anointing is NOT evidence that it was God. Jesus told of people who would do great things in His name, yet He would say to them I NEVER knew you. Never, never, never, means NEVER, they were operating under an anointing that was NOT THE SPIRIT OF GOD, if they had been anointed by the Spirit of God then Jesus could not have said NEVER KNEW YOU. Jesus spoke of false anointing and it is in the Pentecostal charismatic movement full blown. Enjoy your false spirits while you can, one day they will get tired of you and do what they did with another notable person involved in such things.
